Played the demo for 2 or so minutes before realizing that there was no lock on and then quit.

Hopefully PC is modable so I can use Stinger/Upslash like a real DMC game.

I tried playing DMC4 the other day. The combat was pretty fun but the puzzles and all the cutscenes were fucking obnoxious. Is this game the same way? If only there were some good actiony arcadey hack-n-slash games that don't throw a stupid cutscene in my face every 5 minutes to show me the door or the next enemies.

hmmm.

that didn't look............................bad.

Ninja theory.

Unskippable cutscenes.

Sucks to be you.

Do the animations look any better/ different?
They look exactly the same just more fluid because of 60fps. It actually makes the combat look slower because you can see the animations play out through the frames.

I mean after I played the demo the game was clearly designed around 30fps combat. The PC version will improve your experience but its not going to transform the experience.

I don't think anybody was expecting the game to become radically different.... right?

You can skip the cutscenes

Pleasantly surprised. Game was pretty enjoyable going off of the demo. I was never a NG fan so it's been a long time since I've played a decent action game

Pretty likely we're going to see old Dante skins eventually

PC version for me too. 60 fps, super sharp, and while it doesnt play like a Devil May Cry game "should" its not that bad of an action game.

SoS definitely looking harder here than the demo, although in all honesty I died many, many times in the SoS demo before I learned how to clear it with ease. I hope they release a PC demo, just to see how well it can run on my aging PC. I'm barely hanging by the minimum, if that. :p Lately devs really overestimate the requirements so I'm not too worried, but still.

I just saw the club SOS demonstration. I don't know what Greg was doing in that witch fight but the gimmick to beat her was straight forward. The real problem with her was that when you were in a position to do damage you didn't have a lot of time to inflict it. Sadly this is another encounter that pretty much mandates demon weapons on you.

That whole encounter is going to be legitimately difficult on DMD when they will all DT eventually.

I'll be buying it day 1.

I was afraid I might have to play it on consoles first and then double dip on PC later, like Resident Evil 6.

Nice to know I want have to.

Niiiice, will wait for $10 Steam sale in the Summer
Damn. Why couldn't the PC release of RE6 been that close to launch?
This. :( If I had to guess why I'd say it's because RE6 is a much bigger game with a lot more content, who knows. I really wanna play it, despite the negative impressions.

Resident Evil 6 is a pretty bad game, but I think a lot of the issues can be resolved easily on PC.

My only real issues with the game were shitty graphics, bad framerate, bad gamma, bad camera, and bad controls.

Another problem is that she buffs the additional enemies with shields, which focusing on them difficult. It was interesting fight. I'm happy to see more enemies that change things up.

Anyway, it looks like we're seeing more previews pop up. Can't wait to see more impressions. That one guy's impressions about the demo being a poor representation of the actual game was...interesting.

If someone loved RE5, both campaign and co-op mercenaries mode, they'd love RE6 too right? that's all I really need to know. Those tech issues don't sound too bad, like you said nothing a few setting tweaks couldn't fix

I realize that, that's why I said I was confused as to what Greg was doing... clearly the gimmick of the fight was that you ignore the regular enemies and focus on the witch only. When she has those projectiles up, you smack them back at her and she will be vulnerable to attack.

I played RE5 on PC and enjoyed it.
I played RE6 on 360 and had a generally less than stellar experience.
RE6 is a better game than RE5, in my opinion (which is the vast minority, I believe).

That said, RE6 on consoles is a fucking embarrassing experience.

I played RE5 on 360 when it came out, but the technical limitations of the console weren't as obvious as they are in late 2012.

Other than the God-awful, worst thing ever storyline, pretty much all of my issues with RE6 can be fixed with better hardware. The game that lies underneath is still totally worth playing, in my opinion, and if you wait until the PC port you will probably have a good time with it.

That's cute but once the real game comes out he won't be able to switch weapons on the fly.

DMC3 and DMC1 are really the only DMC games that can be played on a fight stick. Arguably you can play Nero's section with a stick but definitely not Dante.
But which Devil May Cry can you play with a Guitar Hero controller?

Chamber

love on your sleeve
Shield Witch + large crowd + SoS = problems

Sure would be nice to have hard lock on. All I could think of while watching Greg whiff on combos and follow-ups. There was a point where Greg had her cornered and shieldless and Dante started throwing out combos at the minions.

I don't really notice it on the lower levels but every time I play SoS on the demo, I end up lamenting the lack of hard lock on.
