That is all.

No more survival game anime! We've suffered enough already.

Oh, speaking of Chihayafuru, I just remembered that someone made a set of Girls und Panzer karuta-style cards, though they're meant for a different style of karuta game called Iroha Karuta.
The full set can be found here, though it's a pretty huge image so be wary.

Kaiji is not a just a game. It's a way of life.

And it would probably take a new series of Kaiji to clean the sour taste in my mouth.

Can I get someone to confirm my beliefs that the final episode of Say "I love you" sucked total ass? I watched it a few days ago but for some reason it's really bugging me. I actually really enjoyed the show. It's not my usual style but I had fun with it. But then in the finale it felt like absolutely nothing happened and Mei and Yamato were in exactly the same awkward situation they were episodes ago when it seemed like there was at least some character development throughout the series prior to this, unless that was all in my mind?

I just don't understand why it's bothering me so much. I feel like the rage is continuously growing inside of me. WHO THE FUCK ENDS A SHOW LIKE THAT ANYWAY!?

It never ends.
The Comic Market Preparations Committee, the organizers of the largest dōjinshi event in the world, reported on Monday that three threat letters were discovered in the area once reserved for Kuroko's Basketball circles. The letters were found after Comiket 83 closed on its second day, Sunday. As a result, the committee discussed the issue with the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center and the police, and then put the event on highest alert for the remaining third day.

The event had decided to bar all Kuroko's Basketball circles from participating after receiving a threat letter on October 29. About 900 fan circles reserved tables to sell self-published items inspired by the Kuroko's Basketball manga and anime, but the committee refunded their entrance fees. According to the committee, the three new letters are considered to be copycat threats.

The 900 barred circles represented about 8% of the total number of circles (11,700) on Sunday. People were allowed, but not encouraged, to sit down and use the former Kuroko's Basketball block as a resting area. The committee's Monday notice discussed the event's increased security patrols and announced bag checks, although ANN's reporter was not subjected to a bag check on Sunday. The committee apologized to attendees for the inconvenience caused by the threats and weekend rain, and thanked them for their support.

Hulu is recommending a show called My Bride is a Mermaid. A guy has to marry a mermaid who rescues him or be executed.

No punch line, just thought I'd mention it.

Now that I'm back home from various family visits, it's time to catch up on anime shopping.

Final volume to to finish the series!
I took some pictures of the whole set together (anime art sides & gamebook art sides + artboxes) but some of the covers are NSFW so click at your own risk.

Macross 7 BD boxes

I'm a long-time fan of the original Macross (Robotech made me an anime fan in the 80s), but I've been slow to get into the sequels--so far I've seen Macross, Macross: DYRL, Macross Zero, and Macross Frontier, so this'll be my first experience with 7.

Last but not least, some music to drive tanks by:

From the show voted second-best TV anime of 2012!

I've been on sort of an anime binge the past few days; I wound up marathoning Simoun which was not bad. I feel like I missed a bonus episode just outlining what the fuck was going on in that war (I understood why there was a war, but only ever had a vague idea of who was winning at any given point), but I guess that might have actually been the point? To have the audience roughly as informed about the war as the characters. And the music and dancing didn't stop the ending from being one of the bleakest things I have ever seen.
Floe and Vura are conscripted to fight on opposing sides in a war between the two powers that joined forces to basically destroy their society and religion because Simulacrum wouldn't share the Simoun tech. The entire culture of their actual country is dying, and now they're going to end up dead in a stupid war that very well might end up destroying everyone they love, since now both sides will be fighting with Simoun tech. Aer and Neviril get to remain young and free forever as basically the dancing memory of a dead culture.
Hurray? At least the relationship chart is amusing.

I'm also halfway through Shiki, which is fun, but has the most inexplicably awful facial hair of all time.

I'm making fun of it now, but the going odds are probably pretty good that I'll eventually end up watching it.

Yeah, the title is kinda weird (the Japanese title is Seto no Hanayome, or The Inland Sea Bride according to Wikipedia). I heard they also changed a certain line for the dub which kinda makes me sad but is understandable because it's based off wordplay.

But, I definitely recommend watching it. It's one of the funnier comedy anime I've seen, in my opinion. Also, Sun is great.

There are worse ways to spend two minutes a week.

I understand this is something that has a new super-short episode every weekday, but they barely made it past two pages of the first chapter this time. At this rate we'll be lucky to get past the first volume.

This is something that's probably better to let sit for a week then watch all at once, so you have something substantial instead of the equivalent of only twelve or so panels from 4koma.

28 minute long episode was a nice surprised and no OP. New ending is alright though not as good as the previous ones. So glad to finally get this arc and some continuation. I hope Aoki is more involved
with that conversation at the end there I do have some hope
. This arc seems like its going to make me dislike Iori Nagase ugh.
so many cringeworthy moments and just everything she said. Taichi should totally ignore her and go for someone else, I guess Id wish for Aoki, but for in the context of the anime, go for like Inaba or something anyone but Iori, and a plot around her again!? ugh

Hope they beat Jazz club.

明けましておめでとう, AnimeGAF!

To celebrate the New Year, and the first anniversary of one of the most powerful anime experiences of our time:

I made you all macarons. Eat them.

Yes, they look like ass because this is the first time I've ever made them and didn't bother piping them into circles. Currently, they also taste fairly crap, because I have to leave them in the fridge for 24 hours before actually eating them so the macaron shell can soften. But the filling is amazing, there's a cube of passion fruit and marmalade jelly in each of them with a cream cheese ganache.

Ahoy, my nakama and I are here to ruin the fucking episode!

Luffy is a bariatric surgeon! Thankfully, good Luffy showed up to proclaim his goals like a boss even if
the lightning strike was fucking stupid. At least he faced his death well!
Guess that's fate for you.

The guerilla war tactics, the serious business, the saltiness, the delicious tears.

Oh and the beach episode.
