i really hate this kind of teasers..not a single part of gameplay

This gif should become a bannable offence.

They trailer showed:

  • Art direction
  • Character and limited gadget and wear design for Psycho Squad
  • Insinuates cybernetics being available as if it were cosmetic operation
  • Vehicle operation (hovering) and design (at least police force).
  • Police attire and weaponary
  • Name of Police comminsioner
  • Power and resilience of Cybernetic appendages

I can't believe this is what people were hyping up...

Why not? I don't think people understand the concept of a teaser..

No one was hyping this up thinking it would show gameplay, because even before they said it's for 2015, no one expected it to come out until 2014 at the earliest.

What is wrong with you, GAF?

I am literally blown away by the trailer and the music fitted perfectly to it IMO. Everyone who believed we would get to see In-Game Gameplay this early in development is a downright fool!

EDIT:

Song is "Bullets" by Archive if that hasn't been posted yet.

"Currently for 2015 but the real release date is when it's done"

Love that they state that they want this to be the best possible game they can make. Developers who are passionate about making amazing games rather than meeting deadlines and making money ASAP, are developers who will give us amazing games. Exciting.

that was awesome. I can imagine the graphics being very close to this, especially for that release date, why not?

Also thought the music was very fitting.

Hyped!

I love the trailer, its not cyberpunk snyth music we were expecting but i felt the content of the song itself hinted at the themes of the game itself. Either way...

I'm upgrading my PC for this game. Its far enough away to guarantee it. And if that is realtime, then cards will be ready for it at 2015

Dark Souls 2 gets announced with a CGI trailer and GAF explodes. Cyberpunk 2077 gets announced with a CGI trailer and people complain that it's not in-game.

I think that's because nobody was expecting a Dark Souls 2 announcement. On the other hand this has been announced for a while and the trailer was 'hyped' so to speak.

As much as I liked the trailer, I have to wonder if this is one of the big problems of AAA games that's developed. I don't know how much money goes into making trailers like these that aren't in-engine and probably aren't even going to be a part of the final game, but it seems like the money would be served better if they used it towards the actual game instead of a trailer for a game that's likely two years out.

I hate it when music lyrics match up too closely to what's happening. Like playing that "where's your head at," song while someone gets executed by beheading :/

My mind cannot compute how impressed I would be if this was true.

No freakin' way.

Well they just had to render that limited set piece. It looks fantastic but that's the IQ I expect from the second/third wave of next gen games.

The world of Cyberpunk 2077 presents a grim vision of the future. Tech advancement went hand in hand with the decay of society. Body augmentations invented to serve society simply multiplied the problems, and sometimes lead to mayhem on the streets. New inventions led to addictions and poverty became an even larger problem.

In Cyberpunk 2077, the player will be thrown into a dark future. The metropolis of Night City is a stage set to tell the tale of one individual, raised on the streets, who tries to lift himself up from the gutter and find a way to survive amongst boostergangs and megacorporations in a city of filth and sin. Drugs, violence, poverty and exclusion haven’t disappeared by 2077, as people stayed as they were for centuries – greedy, closed-minded and weak. But not only ghosts of the past trouble mankind, but new issues have appeared. Psychos go on rampages and the streets are filled with junkies addicted to a new form of entertainment – the braindance, a cheap way to experience the emotions and stimuli of someone else, someone living a more exciting life.

Braindances are digital recordings of a person’s experience. The viewer can stream a braindance directly into his neural system via special brain augmentations, called a BD player. Braindances allow the viewer to experience all brain processes registered, including emotions, muscle movements and all stimuli perceived by the recording person.

The range of themes of these recordings varies from simple braindances made by megacorporations, which e.g. allow the viewer to feel the full experience of an explorer with all its thrills, sweats, smells, views, sounds and the real feeling of curiosity that pushes men to go beyond the horizon against fear and physical weakness. But there are also more controversial sides of braindance, because some recordings are created illegally in the underground. Entering the mind of a serial killer means not only seeing the monstrosity he performs, but also living his lust to kill and fulfillment.

You haven’t experienced the latest New Hollywood recording? You’re nobody! The streets live with braindances, everyone just got crazy and wants to be a part of this new entertainment fad. Some people push it even too far and they cannot stop living other people’s lives. If you’re not linked to a braindance right now, you are probably discussing what happened to you during your last session. Of course, just like every great new cultural movement, BDs have people who criticize them. Just watch these two guys arguing about this phenomena [pdf | doc].

This is the world of 2077. The gap between high and low is bigger than ever. Drugs, violence, braindance, psychos on the loose… Will you be able to function in this defunct society or end up a BD-junky with nothing left, set aside like garbage - still living someone’s else life – not aware of what’s going on around you? Whether you like it or not - this is the age of braindance decadence; this is Cyberpunk 2077.

Yes, it's Cyberpunk.

But The Witcher had pretty boring art, too. It's just how their games are.

With CD Projekt Red, it's always fairly standard art, but it both looks incredible, and it's also always based on existing fiction that usually comes from an era before oversaturation of certain styles, so they more than get away with it.

Let's dissect each scene GAF.

But before that, can anyone clear my confusion as to how the the girl who was about to be retired by the Psycho Squad is a member of their own team?

Btw, got a strong SW1313 (1313 level), Deus Ex (Hengsha) vibe.

Anyone?

Kind of reminds me of KZ2 Bullet Spot trailer. It was never playable on this level detail. At best it's upscaled, uprezzed and prettied up to fidelity of CG but I would only be a believer in that BS (that it's "real time") if they can show us playing the game on a computer that's not running a spec that's unrealistic for 99% of people out there (like Triple SLi with GTX 690 or something).

You really need to talk to Blizzard about that.

I agree with you.

People sound like they aren't interested in the game's universe even though it's a RPG that most likely will be heavily story focused.
