I don't see any presentation shortcomings. All I see is Platinum being Platinum.

We were talking strictly graphics, lighting effects, shaders, etc... which is flat out average (I would say bad) in this trailer.

If you're talking about gameplay or animations or combat, those are completely separate issues.

The action looks great as ever, but I'm worried the setting is going to be really dull (either because of the MGS fiction or because Platinum didn't have a ton of time). The area in the demo is decent looking, but the environment in this trailer doesn't have much going for it. I know that's not where your attention will be during the intense moments, but a game like this still needs interesting/memorable locations to compete with the best of the genre.

Not really. People that have played the series will have a better idea of what's going on, but I get the feeling that this is kind of meant to be a game that can stand on its own.

I think, judging by the end that Raiden/Jack The Ripper has clearly gone a little bit bi-polar/schizophrenic and that the voice over has been taken a bit out of context but I for one am loving mad bastard Quinton Flynn. Turning out better than I could have ever expected.
