you also discuss anime sales? o_0
I didn't even now that numbers could be found

I'm sure some here are a lot more knowledgeable on this than I am, but I personally use two sites to keep track of sales:

http://dvdbd.wiki.fc2.com/ (Japanese sales wiki. It lists them per volume as long as they are tracked by Oricon, I believe.)
http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=111958 (A lot of information including a list of which anime have sold above 10k average.)

Some people here know Japanese and have a much bigger pool of resources to find information.

Wow. Thank you for the links.

Then do you have an "anime war" thread? That should be far more epic than a console war thread!

I hope so too. Chuuni was underestimated (due to surprising storefront presence) and this might hold true for Tamako as well.

I wonder when there will be another K-ON level success for Kyoani though.

The sooner they realize they need to make another season/movie of K-ON!, the better

Does it come with the set, or with S2? I can't seem to find out where I can obtain it or stream it.
According to Amazon it's listed on the DVD's as "Episode 26" which is pretty weird. That might be different if you own the complete collection though.

By the way, staff comments for Hyouka are being translated now.

example -

Background Supervisor Shuuhei Okude:

This is the art director for Hyoua, Okude. This time I served as the background supervisor for the first episode.

In the first episode, the stage was the high school the Classics Club attend: Kamiyama High. Since it was the first episode, everyone in the background staff put everything they had in drawing the backgrounds.

In the A-part, the classroom as well as the clubroom had that “after-school” feeling to it, but since the B-part took place on a rainy day, that “after-school” feeling was absent. It was more gloomy instead.

Supervisor Takemoto ordered that the backgrounds for Hyouka have a “bitter ambiance.” We moved forward having pinned down the flashiness, hue, and vividness of the images.
Only Eru’s “I’m curious!” scene in the A-part of episode 1 was very bright, both in key animation and in backgrounds. The other scenes were made to give a different impression.
While working on that scene, I personally made an effor to make Houtarou and Eru’s first meeting scene one that would be a pretty as a painting.

Hyouka began with a cut of sakura petals falling, but I think people will enjoy it until the very very end.

And of course there's stuff for Tamako Market as well - it's a nice blog to keep an eye on if you like these shows.

Ultimatemegax is great. He translated a lot of material for Chuunibyou as well. He posts a lot of it on Animesuki so I've been grabbing some of it and posting it here. That massive interview with Yamada and Yoshida is one example.

Thank you. After Googling, it looks like you misspleled Art, though.

From this picture, I ca't see anything wrong with this anime.
But I gess that too much ecchi kills ecchi.

Oh if only it was full on ecchi...at least my mind wouldn't have been raped by how dumb the plot and characters are.

I'll trust you. Someone with a Darker than Black avatar can't have bad taste.

GUAN YU

You are such a bro.

Honestly, it's just another generic fantasy show with dumb plot twists. If you want similar but better shows then watch Escaflowne (you probably watched this a million times though), Scrapped Princess, Druaga no Tou (at least the first episode lol), Chrome Shelled Regios (the protagonist here is what Kirito in SAO should have been like), Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu and World Destruction.

There is also .hack series but I am only familiar with the games.

Escaflowne was the vry first anime I watched. I didn't see the others. I tried Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu but couldn't bear the old chara design. I'll note your suggestions somewhere.

I like .Hack (I saw quantum, roots and sign) it's slow, but has beautiful OST. Not enough to be a good-good anime though.

The Light of El Cantare
Sasami-san 02:

Please don't tell me that people actually do this.

Anyway, I guess this was better than the last episode insofar as there was less pseudo-incest shit, bad action, and fewer chances for the Yagamis to be actively awful. Now that we actually have a premise, it seems to lend itself to self-contained narratives that can go in essentially any direction from week to week, hamstrung only by the show's reliance on dumb otaku hikkikomori themes like MMO gaming and SHAFT's willingness to animate anything that has, well, too much animation. This episode certainly had the "stage play" feel that SHAFT's lowest-budget shows have exhibited in the past when large percentages of an episode are talking heads and simple walking animations against a static background. The topics of conversation aren't stimulating enough to support these low-cost techniques yet. I'll keep watching, but I expect to be consistently underwhelmed.

Regios and Densetsu might look bland but as someone who is always hungry for anything fantasy or rpg-like, I couldn't say no.

Druaga season 1 is fantastic though. Season 2 is a bit weaker but nothing outraging.

It's how you eat ramen out of the bag, crush it up and pour the powder in.

I remember a kid in elementary school bringing that for lunch.
