Gadgets placed by players (such as turrets) will now apply boons and conditions based on those players’ stats. Those conditions and boons will not be reduced to level-1 values when the triggering gadget is destroyed.

Oh YEAAAAAAAAAAA

No real engineer buff/nerf, but not really sure what the incendiary ammo change means

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the best thing about sword/sword is the fact that blade training applies to both hands which is very strong.

The lionguard vendor is back but now doesn't offer black lion keys. THANKS ANET.

There is this, pertaining to dungeons:
•Attribute calculations for dynamic level scaling have been rebalanced. In general, this means weaker when adjusted down, stronger when adjusted up. Rewards when adjusted down have been increased to compensate. It is now possible to receive your own level of loot from any level of enemy.
But I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't know what it means. :(

To me it seems like it's done to make it a bit easier on people Buddying up for Fractals while making it harder for people Buddying down for Story mode dungeons. Maybe to increase participation in both?

You're absolutely right, totally forgot that Fractals are the one area of PvE where you actually get scaled up to participate. Rereading over that now, I think it indicates two things:

1) The scaling experience re: both loot and difficulty for anyone who's at any level that is not 80 should be improved
2) Level 80 characters will be able to get better level 80 loot (increased to compensate) no matter what they're being scaled down to

I've gotten level 78 rares from doing AC Story before, so I'm not sure how this will feel in terms of practical impact, but it sounds good. If nothing else, it sounds like it's going to be worth it to do fractals no matter who you are.

This was annoying only completed P3 with my guild...

CoF
Explorable—Rhiannon’s Chain: The torch event at the start has been adjusted to only require 3 torches instead of 5; enemy groups have also been adjusted accordingly.

Yea i haven't done fractals yet b/c I'm not even sure if I can run with people who are on a higher level than me

I actually managed to get home early, on the condition that I have to be on a conference call in 3 hours. Patch time!

...taking a while

^^Now time to wait until Seda Khold gets on so I can see this in action.

Hm. I don't think I like the change, I liked when it was just a small decal at the end of a rainbow.

R.Hrou posted on dungeons:
Hey folks, I’m Robert Hrouda, a content designer on Guild Wars 2. In the coming months, we’ll make some changes to dungeon mechanics to make them a more fun and challenging experience. I wanted to give you a heads-up on our plans for phase 1 of our dungeons evolution—specifically, the removal of “res-rushing”—as well as a brief overview of our plans for phase 2.

“Res-rushing” is when a player uses a waypoint to resurrect immediately after being defeated in a dungeon and then runs back to the fight, instead of waiting for their party members to resurrect them.

Dungeons were designed to be highly focused on teamwork. The current res-rushing mechanic discourages the type of behavior we intended when a fellow player goes down. We hope that by eliminating res-rushing, we’ll bring dungeons more in-line with our original design goals, which are based around team play and strategy.

With this upcoming change, defeated players will be unable to use waypoints while their party is in combat. Players will only be able to use waypoints if the party wipes or withdraws from combat.

When we were making this change, we looked at the events and encounters where our data showed players being encouraged to res-rush and re-balanced them to allow for the safe removal of res-rushing. There are a few standout examples of this, and our patch notes will include a full list of changes we are making to existing dungeon content.
What’s Happening in Phase 2?

Phase 2 of our dungeons evolution will see a lot of changes to bosses and enemies. We plan on taking a good, hard look at the health values and mechanics of our elites and bosses, and in turn how we reward players for their time investment and risk. This will include looking into every boss in our dungeons and seeing what we can do to enhance the gameplay experience in order to make more memorable and strategic encounters.

Do you have any thoughts or feedback on these upcoming changes you want to share with us? Head over to the dungeon forum and join the conversation: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/dungeons. We value player input during this process and look forward to hearing from you!

Ok so I'm reading through the notes, is the only zone quest content some kind of event thing? Anyone play the new events/quests?

Just followed that link in Hawkian's post to the dungeon sub-forum and saw this:

Hey folks, I can’t seem to find the thread, but there was one that asked about necro reanimator trait, and lupicus using his grub skill on them. This behavior effected Necro minions, Mesmer clones, Ranger pets, and even the follower NPC.
I’ve now modified the skill so that it will only target players from now on as a priority before looking at minions/pets/turrets/NPCs.

Sweet. I now hate Reanimator about 80% less.

Wonder why they moved the Broodmother event in Orr? I always liked that field.

I kept getting credit for that event despite never going anywhere near it, maybe they moved it away from the road through Malchor's Leap?

What. The. Fuck? So we'll see stuff that we can't grab now because the enemy is all over it. I preferred ignorance is bliss.
More than likely the chests will pop at your location in WvW just like loot bags do.

This uplevel change probably effects WvW too.

In the end, it sounds like they made the dungeons harder first by removing res rushing but not rebalancing the bosses.

Exactly, it's the same as before but more obvious that something dropped and you can't loot it. Even when things spawn quickly for me, I miss it because I'm "strategically retreating" all the time.

Broodmother is a far distance away from the road though. You have to specifically make your way north to break eggs to spawn it and it comes from the northeast corner of the zone with eggs so that's odd.

Unless this is a different event that I'm not aware of.

If it's a rare, then it will more than pay for your armor repair fees.

Fuck this new daily format.

"Combo" kills with allies are frustratingly difficult unless you have a class like an Ele around.

My gripe is still the inability to have guaranteed collection. If you're constantly moving, you'll notice a shiny chest in the middle of the enemy if you're retreating and still alive. If you're dead, it probably won't be there when you get back and if you're talking about the repair cost of running in there to grab it, it's not guaranteed that you'll be able to loot it to begin with since you're a free kill running at them.

Well now its dodges so thats easy

I am a bit surprised by the total lack of balance tweaks in the patch. They are putting a lot of pressure on their Feb patch to save spvp. Right now, the difference in attention and effort between GW1's pvp and GW2's spvp makes it feel like two different companies.

Until I read something official saying otherwise, I'll tell you now that the issue is with their combo detection. It's buggy. I noticed this because of the achievement "Teamwork Gets It Done" back during launch week. Somehow I completed that achievement during the first week, but only by playing a ton of PvE and WvW with other people. Any time I tried to go for it manually, it just didn't work.

The only thing that seems to help is variety. Using different people, different fields, different finishers, or different enemies, something in there is having an effect.

I have to wonder how you play. I can grab my loot bags 99% of the time by just charging with my team, then going back to pick stuff up. If more appears while I'm running from a group, then it only takes a half second to turn around and grab one or two. And only one or two will usually appear anyway, because if you're running away then the people you downed are likely to get saved rather that stomped. How many bags are you missing out on?

Finding it hard to find a class I really "click" with.

I have a level 47-49 ele mage and that's the first and best class I have used so far. But the problem is that she's so fragile that I don't want to use the cool DD skills so I'm pushed more towards staff which I like but It's still "ehhh?" to me cause it doesn't have all the mobility of the DD set. And on top of that it took me until like level 30 to get her somewhat in teh swing of things.

Tried Ranger and that's ok but it lacks wide/ AOE attacks I have ground to love using on mobs. Plus it doesn't have the flash I like.

I have a mesmer at around 15 and idk ... seems like it has potential but she's a norn and and doesn't hit hard enough for their local enemies. I really think I'm not getting something with that class right just yet.

Just made a Norn engineer and I like the fact that she can take hits but still, not as interesting as ele just yet.

Gonna try a Nacro ... meat shields might be fun.

Many professions require upward of level 60 to acquire the necessary traits for their builds to truly shine. Specifically, a P/V/T geared, cantrip-specced D/D ele is one of the most indestructible classes in the current metagame, with the ability to flee from virtually any encounter.

Haha, I hadn't noticed, because they've always been terrible skills, but Guardian Spirit Weapons are now targetable and susceptible to damage. Who wants a 1.5 minute CD 'pet' with 2000 HP?

BL class change kit. Come on, ArenaNet.

New dailies kind of suck, but I like that we get more than just a coin + karma.

As for karma: HOLY !&^*@$)*$. Those karma boxes don't kid around. Blew all my karma across my 4 80s(~800k a piece), ended up getting a ton of lodestones(73g on the TP) + the junk you vendor back(~15g).

It seems you might even get the karma back if you're lucky. It's pretty generous.

When winning, I'll have to backtrack really far sometimes as they're small as is and the spawn under your feet while you're already moving onto the next target. It's not until I know that I can't commit to chasing or it'd be a bad idea to that I spin around and hold down control to see if there're any bags. It'd be nice to not have to back track for those sometimes..

On the other hand, there'll occasionally be a retreat where a guy along their front lines gets killed and you happen to get credit for it for a drop that gets lost. It's not common but often enough that I have to just ditch it because I know we need to go. I don't know how they die though as bags just show up.

It just hit me that it's probably Signet of Shadows. I'm usually gone by the time that I notice the bag spawn and have to turn back or ditch it. I reckon it's probably the same for the other classes that have the 25% movement speed signets up in there now and not just thieves anymore.

Can't res at a WP in the dungeon will fuck things up for low levels trying to do AC, people won't do it with them...

Shouldn't be a problem for low levels in our guild. Between the usual "Let's do Storymode" events we slip into the mix and the general goodness of our members, no GAFer should go wanting.

That said, I think it's a design decision that, like Ascended Gear, should have been in from the start because seeing the other side of it (Respawn zerging) makes it seem like a big negative when it really makes a lot of sense to do it this way.

Hopefully Phase 2 of their dungeon design will be sooner rather than later. It sounds like it's going to be in the next couple of months.

Hmmm...seem to be downloading quite an update. What was added today?
