I don't really like the ambushing aspects, I kind of think of it more as a free-running style thing. The other thing though is that I wanted to start from like a smaller aspect, like start in (ha-ha) an ordinary high-school and then scale up from there rather than immediately going global. You know, standard tournament fare only the tournament is run via a mysterious smartphone app (Mayonaka App?) and it's god-damned tag

Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
That seems too simple and not entirely fair to the person who is it if this is a global game unless they always know the location and faces of the other players.
That's what the money is for. Also the phones will give you a detailed log of all purchases from those accounts, although not the locations they came from.
Even then it seems like the game would end just by the people who are "it" dying from running out of money and not actually catching anyone. There is a reason boundaries are established in games of tag.

In the article, the reason their global tag is even viable is because they're millionaires who can travel on a whim. This is the same setup, except traveling will eventually whittle down your bank account.

EDIT:
There needs to be one more rule because someone can just hole up somewhere and never use their phone. Too lazy to think of it.

Nisekoi

It'll turn out that the mother is just testing Raku to see if he has the balls to stand up to her. We'll find out she overdoes everything because she knows she is a sucky mom and thus overworks her actually work as compensation. She'll hope that Raku will be there for Chitoge in her stead. Raku will stand up to her, mom and daughter will spend Christmas together, and shenanigans will commence. The mom will then depart the country, leaving a threat to kill Raku if they don't end up together/make Chitoge happy, thus ending the arc and "advancing" the main plot.

There's your next 3-4 chapters of Nisekoi: The Quest for the Boring Keyes

I'm not going to post the "I called it".gif since there's no pride in predicting Nisekoi, but still...

Next week will be the 2nd half of my post coming true.

It feels like you're going for a more complex planning-style manga than I'm envisioning

Problem: Only the "it" will ever die because everyone else can just stop spending money. The rules otherwise favor turtling so you might not see much action at all, and the "it" status would primarily be transferred automatically instead of by touch. Boring.

In the article one of the interesting factors is the unpredictability because there is no time limit. An attack can come at any time, when you least expect it.

Would there be any penalties for killing another competitor in the game regardless of whether they're it or not?

Can't call assassinations/missile strikes on people in the game. Although you can kill them personally.

Okay, new rule: The person who is "it" gets up-to-date GPS info on every other player.

And a few more I guess:

If your phone is lost/damaged/stolen, you lose.
If it's separated from you by more than 1 mile, you lose.

I think bombs implanted in the head should factor into this somehow but let's not get too gruesome.
The mini-explosives in your gut are set off and you die obviously
Or that.

Honestly im starting to sick of the whole IM A DRAGON I ATE YOUR POWER AND MAKE IT MY OWN. there better be some damn good explanation for this. also why is it always the good guys that eats the other persons power and the bad guy never does.

Whippy you are my partner in crime

come to sydney so i can beat you up in the name of friendship or whatever

Melbourne is nice and cosy. Sydney is chaotic and scary.

Also we got PAX.

I'll give Sydney cred for being the second least boring city of Australia though.

So what I think the fun factor is would be to have some kind of parallel online ecosystem. Like a discussion forum/real time chatroom GiTS style with avatars for visual interest where there are other players talking about the game, spectating or trash-talking. Now any of these alias'd dudes could be people in IRL. But none know the others until the beginning of a tag round.

Give the IT person (and no one else) a GPS so they can track the others. Also make them team up in pairs and don't tell anyone who is it. Instead of draining money say that if the IT team doesn't tag someone in say a week they die and new pair is automatically IT. This is where I'm going with it anyway, I've already got a pair of characters picked out for the main slot in the story (I'm basically re-purposing them and an antagonist from another story of mine that's going nowhere as this setting accomplishes what I wanted to do anyway). Already got the ending picked out, it's a bit of a cop out but I think I can make it work.

Fair enough but are there any rules against hiring third parties to simply maim another competitor?

Yes. Also no bodyguards allowed.

Could you imagine if aunt tits gets to 500 chapters, MAXIMUN TROLL

What if last panel of de series ends with "it was always about aunt's tits"

Yea it's just a hell of a combination of stuff. A Mormon Hispanic living illegally in Idaho scanning a manga about a kid lusting after his Aunt's Tits.

Yeah that dude has seen some shit though. I remember once he couldn't clean TWGOK because he spent the night in jail after getting pulled over without a license. He's like the primary caretaker of his brother too. He does work in the fields to put himself through college when he's not cleaning manga. He had trouble paying his internet bills at one point which was problematic for us cause it took him forever to upload his .PSD files.

...I probably shouldn't get any more specific than this.

This series just keeps on delivering. It's a fucking crime I can't buy a physical english copy :/

I love that the vast majority of people are actually pretty normal but because of the few completely idiotic main characters and their strength of will, and everybody losing their shit around Kitano everything always ends up stupid. But hilarious.

Something about a guy with this life story doing Aunt Tits just feels...right.

We completely understand.

Yea, it sounded weird at first but now it feels right.

Now that I think about it, there are a lot of interesting people in scanlation from all over the world.

There was that translator working as a diplomat in Austria who could speak five languages. She had trained since early childhood in several martial arts, including the use of knives, swords, and naginata, and was frequently unavailable because she was at one dojo or another. There was that other translator who was a mother who spoke three languages and had a PhD in chemistry; she spent most of her time doing postdoctoral research. She had to take a break once because a student of hers accidentally spilled liquid nitrogen on her and sent her to the hospital. Good times.

Why is this not a manga?

The guys I'm closest with though are my fellow admins, they're the only ones I still chat with today. Our Indonesian leader, the French schoolteacher, the Brazilian student, the white guy teaching English in Japan, and the dude in Oregon working in an electronics retailer. My nakama.

True story: The Brazilian dude learned English by reading manga translations.

How did you guys handle the time zone difference?

I can relate to the Brazilian student since I learned english playing video games.
