The dual control mode sounds perfect for me to help my 6 year old son
EA game on WiiU and it isn't a port dump? What is going on here?
Now release it on eShop and I'm on board!
I knew I trusted Criterion for a reason. I've been waiting for the Wii U version of this (and I had Forza Horizons to play when it came out, so I wasn't wanting for a racing game). I'm glad that's paid off. I mean, waiting for the Wii U version of Colonial Marines has paid off too, because I was able to cancel my pre-order yesterday after the reviews started coming in, but I'd really like a new fun game to play on Wii U, and I am glad to hear that Criterion haven't fucked up.
And happy to hear that the rumours saying the game was done last year and that it didn't have any special effort put into the Wii U version have turned out to be misplaced.
Yay! Criterion!
What;s funny is that the game is already advertised as the definitive version indirectly on the box, it shows 32 awards as opposed to the 18 from the previous versions.
can someone please post all the info of the video together? I want to update OP.
If I really enjoyed Burnout Paradise, will I like this?
Honestly I would've expected them to outsource it and/or still fuck this up. This is a real surprise. I offered to give up my avatar permanently if the port wasn't shit...if you want I can still do that.
I'm willing to bet my avatar that it will not be (at least) as good technically as the other versions, but will have some weaknesses (weaker framerate, maybe some features missing, maybe texture problems). I'd even give up this beloved avatar of mine permanently if it's graphically/technically better than the other (console) versions.
But hey, when has the lack of footage and the silence of the publisher ever been a bad sign ?

You should be a man of your word bro.

Here's most of it
-Based on PC VERSION of game
- took a break after 360 etc. version was done- came back with a small Wii U team- more RAM in the Wii U -> PC textures and assets lighting and draw distances better
-Criterion read Iwata Asks of shared experiences and philosophy of Wii U
-Miiverse support with Autolog
-Wii U demo up Eshop
-God Mode Wii U GamePad (drifting, getting stuck, make it easier in police chases/change from day to night at tap game pad)
-Off TV Play
-Mii support in game (mii appearing on billboards)
(Wii mote/nunchuck/wheel support/pro controller already confirmed months ago)
-Started after break in September 2012 from other versions, due to finish in few weeks with minor fixes
-Due end of March
The game was actually done, but it looks like they left some people on the project to polish it up for a few months.
Still think it would have done better at launch.

I don't see the stutter in the video that has been in EVERY pc version preview and in the final game.

Do your worst GAF. I will take it like a man.
applause.gifCriterion interview said:"With Wii U, it was a system where we didn't feel until we got the hardware ourselves at home, then it began to click with us as developers. We understood how we were going to use the GamePad, and we knew that releasing a vanilla version of the game would just not be enough. It wouldn't do the machine justice."
According to Ward, Most Wanted's lighting, draw distance and detail have all been tweaked for the Wii U version, offering a "notable increase in visual quality" over the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
"So the first thing you'll see on-screen is a notable increase in visual quality on the Wii U version," Ward continued.
"The system has more memory so we're able to use the PC textures and assets, so the game has a much more high quality look. The road is more detailed, the lighting is improved, the draw distance is tweaked, so on Wii U, it's by far the best-looking version of the game."
The Wii U version also includes additional features over the 360 and PS3 versions, including a new 'Co-Driver' mode, letting a second player turn traffic on or off, alter the time of day and plot routes for the person behind the wheel.
