I'm not worried about that at all, I'm sure it'll look fine when it's released. I for one am more annoyed by the hyped up "reveal" which turned out to be nothing but nothing, and a whole lot of self-massage.

Now that they've gone multi-plat they can no longer rely on loyalty that would eat up "vidocs" containing nothing else than empty calories. Especially when they seem to abandon a part of their core demographics by going [B]"Star Citizen"-style[/B].

Planetside 2 is more impressive from a competitive multiplayer "scope & ambition" perspective than anything shown or hinted at here. And it's been out for months.

More of a peek behind the curtain than the reveal I was hoping for, but I liked what was there. It feels like there's a trailer buried inside it, with the narrated bits, cut into a vidoc. I'd like to see that trailer expanded and split out.

The design and art is distinctly, excellently Bungie. Now to go read the press stuff and see what else is out there.

Yep, the reveal was extremely underwhelming. I find it hilarious that people are saying it looks too much like Halo when we were shown basically nothing.

Yeah, I am basically neutral at this point. There is not enough there for me to say either way, but I am hopeful and will wait and see.

WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. We knew nearly everything they revealed here already, so what people were really hungry for (graphics, gameplay, etc) we saw like 30 seconds of and a lot of that was not great. Is it representative of the final product? I'm sure not. But that's not the point, the point is this was their "big reveal" and it was severely underwhelming.

I think the real problem was the amount they hyped up the reveal in relation to how much footage they were willing to show at this time.

So, we went from massive anticipation to "yo those pre-alpha shots of the current gen version look bad"? Totally ignoring all of the other details of the game? The scope? The ambition?

"The scope". "The ambition." We've gotten huge open world FPS before; we've gotten MMOs before; we've gotten space alien operas before; we've gotten zombie games before; we've gotten every single thing that has actually been revealed about Destiny at some point before... most of them even in combination.

What if you just don't want an MMO because of what the genre usually always means for actual quality gameplay? What if you don't want an MMO because your internet connection isn't reliable enough to guarantee you can compete at a fair level? What if you don't want an MMO because you feel that broad strokes social games at this level usually suffer in the minutia, which add up to a lot? What if you don't want an MMO because as you can see here, the visuals are starkly disappointing compared to other types of games?

Nobody is "totally ignoring" other details of the game - it's just the graphics look lame as shit, so some are discussing that too. You can't dismiss the importance of visuals no matter how hard you try.
