Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | February 2013 | The most desirable handheld in Japan

I didn't see this mentioned, but the store HTML5 code has been updated to improve usability.

Free content downloading has been streamlined

Demos, Avatars, Themes, etc...

Select content
Select Download.

It'll install.

So downloading demos takes 2 button presses. I'm glad they heard our complaints.

I think you're now able to choose whether you want something free from PS+ or pay for it. At least it asked me for the DUST 514 dlc.

Hmm NFS Most Wanted Vita 19,99€ on Amazon. How is the Vita version? I played it on 360 already and plan to get the WiiU one. Don't know if I should bite on the Vita one also.

Assuming I don't get the $10 code, and that I'll end up with around $62 in my US account next week after I re-sub for Plus, I've been thinking of getting the following games for the Vita:

Generation of Chaos 6 $20
Hakuoki WotS $25
Corpse Party BoS $20*
Feisty Feet $3 [Mini]
Sun Flowers $4
Doctor Who $10

*How long is the game compared to the first one? For these type/this genre of games I'd pay at most $15.

Which ONE, and at least ONE of these should I get GAF?

Urban Trials is up on the EU store, a little over £6 with the PS+ discount.

I wasn't expecting it to be up until after the store update today. I guess I'll try the demo.

Wow, Crysis 3 and Persona 4 Golden are up, too. Looks like the EU store update had been pushed out super early today.

Almost as if Sony's got something more important to do.

It's great, direct port of the full game with a few exclusive Vita events.

I really like it and it links in with the PS3 version too, although I see you say you already dipped on 360 and planning to on the WiiU too. Only critisism of the game is that sometimes it's hard to see where you are going with notifications and in game alerts coming up on your screen. But a really great game and the graphics are pretty sweet in motion. Traffic isn't as dense as the console counterparts but there is enough around for it to be a pain sometimes.

Urban Trial is pretty sweet. The leaderboard integration for different part of the track is a pretty great idea. Just beat Winkles ass in the first level. Controls are fine as well, and the customization (once everything is unlocked) adds a bit more strategy how to approach a track. So far really liking it.

Long time UK lurker here with a question if that's ok?

I'm interested in buying Nikoli no Sudoku V: Shugyoku no 12 Puzzle & was wondering if anyone here had played it & if there's a language barrier? I thought that there was a version with English subtitles, but that appears to be only available as a download on the HK store. And I can't find any reviews for the game at all.

So finished the trials demo.

Don't know what some people were complaining about.

R accelerates L brakes and reverses, stick leans.

Just like actual trials?

It's a bit lighter feeling than trails but yeah it's a very good clone and great if you want that kind of game on vita

Urban Trials reviews seem very mixed, ranging from very average (5-6/10) to very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to trying out the demo tonight.

Its definitely fun, 7-8 sounds more like it. Especially the leaderboard integration is pretty slick and rewarding, especially since on the trick tracks its more than 1 record per track.

I hope it is :) The developers were up against a difficult task coming up with a game in the same vein as Trials. Comparisons were going to be made. I hope that this game will expand and improve even further in a sequel (not a fan of DLC tbh). Or that Trials comes to playstation (now that the developer is owned by Ubisoft) :)

I was going to grab Trials today, however P4G just dropped through the door. So it'd be a waste of £7 to get it now.

I seriously love my Vita. I just wish I had a bigger card for the thing. So much micro-management (due to my own weak will) needed.

I promised myself early on that I would be good with this machine, making sure I play a game to completion before moving on, which started off well, with Uncharted and Gravity Rush, then I just couldn't help myself one little bit.

I saw the list above and again I have to say, I can't remember a machine having such a strong year 1 line up of new titles alone, let alone a huge catalogue of games already on offer through older systems (PSP, PSONE).

Here is a thought, imagine if the PS4 does allow backwards compatibility through Gaikai, it is a PS+ exclusive giving you full access to the PS2 library on the Vita via streaming. That would make the Vita a thing of perfection.

Got Trials, woo hoo!

The acceleration is a little 'grabby' as expected and the bike feels a smidgen too light, but it's cool. The lack of a quick restart button is a little odd too but it's no biggie to pause and restart. I can definitely see me playing this a lot.

Press triangle :)

BlueMaxima is ranked 3rd on the global leaderboards of the first level in Trials, yikes.

dofry

That's "Dr." dofry to you.
Fiiiiinaaallllyyyy Persona 4 Golden is here. Feels like waiting forever.

The description of the game in finnish is actually quite funny. Seems like Sony is using Google translate or something, or there is some really lazy translator at work here. I've seen it in a few other games too.

Square and X do the same as L and R but they work out a little better imo since there's less travel to them.

I have already played it for more than 5 hours, the game is great. Perfect fit for the Vita.

Yup, definitely among the best purchases on the store, especially considering the Price/Size/Fun ratio of 9:

I got a review code for Urban Trials in the end.

I like it, bit more twitchy than Trials HD / Evolution, but it plays well and I really like the little challenges it has throughout a level.

Things like dynamic (I think they are anyway) leaderboards for jumps, speeds, etc. Adds a little something that the RedLynx games didn't have.

Hope they continue to support the game moving forward.

Smoky I'm quite sure that quick restart button is triangle, at least in the first two levels...

Edit - beaten - :p

Just downloaded Mega Man X after seeing it was on the PS+.
Will be the first Mega man game I've ever played.

Just beat the first level and it seems fun.
The voice acting is hilariously bad though.

Tonight I'm gonna create a party chat and send some invites to the old school VitaGAF to comment the Sony Stream. Stay tuned.

Cool idea, I'm not old-school enough but I wouldn't make it anyway. Hope you guys have fun~

Woke up to a surprise. Persona 4 got here a day earlier than expected.

Very nice. Enjoy it.

Hype is slowly starting to build for the PS4 announcement. What are we realistically expecting Vita-wise? If they start to announce details then I hope we see some news on how we can expect to see the Vita integrate with the PS4, a push for remote play being high on the priority list.

At first thought It was lame since I play racing games in cockpit view. After letting It sit on the shelf for a few months, took a trip and brought it along. Having tons of fun daily. Framerate can take a dive with some of the most wanted races.

Online is still very active though. Not bad at all in my time lately. Honestly Im more of a GT person but this will do for now. Good buy I say.
