Capcom's DEEP DOWN was the most impressive thing shown @ PS4 event

Simple math:

Dragon's Dogma + Demon's Souls = Deep Down

It looks absolutely amazing and gives you DAT VIBE. The feeling you want this game, you want to go out and buy it RIGHT NOW. I must play it, I want to play it today.

If Sony plays it right, this can be a system seller.

OR DIE A COWARD

Was Killzone 4 looking good? Yeah it was. But I played that game already, dozens of times. Deep Down is something that calls me. It is mysterious, dark and scary. It is a game in a genre that hasn't been run down to the ground yet.

That last gif. If it was letter boxed and had some film grain it would pass for CGI. Mind blowing.

I'm not sure how it will play, this almost reminds me of RE6's early shots and videos with the really close up cameras.

I wouldn't mind a much improved dragon's dogma (decrease the pawns), the controls were really tight and it could be so much better with better hardware and framerate, make it much harder and more focus on the survival aspect and it will be awesome.

Edit: So yes dragon's dogma + dark souls please. I wouldn't really mind if they cut out the NPC stuff and quests, I actually would prefer it to be like dark souls.

I'd be fairly surprised if it wasn't CG. That obviously fake UI in obviously non-gameplay sequences :/

It looks too crazy good.

Visually I think stuff like Killzone and Infamous Second Son were as impressive. However, I believe what they showed was just a tech demo of the game ala Agnis Philosophy (which I think is jus as impressive visually anyway). I am pretty cautious on this one. I seriously dont think that was gameplay at all. At least with Killzone you could tell the animations were (hopefully) placeholder. Not with this one...

It was nice alright but it looked like a CGI sequence with a game HUD tacked on it. I didn't really look like actual gameplay.

For my money, I agree with you. I haven't played Dragon's Dogma but I am most definitely buying the new expanded version that's about to come out. Hopefully will tide me over for this, which looks like an evolution of that.

It's fucking beautiful and I'm really looking forward to what Bethesda is going to do after seeing this from Capcom.

The demo looked really awesome, but I'm not sure if it really runs in real time. I'm glad that Capcom is making another game like Dragon's Dogma though, that game is great, but the game was really limited by its engine (low res, bad framerate...).

I like it when devs shoehorn icons into videos. At least Killzone and Watch_Dogs was actual gameplay.

Too many flaws to be CG. I think when other stuff piles onto it, it will look a bit worse but definitely close.

is it exclusive?

we don't know, no one said it is or it's not. this is the press release

http://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e130221.html
Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce that it has decided to develop "deep down -working title-", a new game title for Sony Computer Entertainment's next-generation "PlayStation®4" game console. This will be the first title to be developed for SCE's "PlayStation®4" game console.

This title is to be developed using "Panta Rhei", Capcom's proprietary software development engine designed to provide the optimum game development environment for next-generation game consoles. "Panta Rhei" supports the latest graphics, enhances work flow to bring down development costs and improves game development efficiency in order to raise game quality. Clearly distinct from conventional game software, "deep down -working title-" for the "PlayStation®4" game console will bring a new dimension of game experience.

As always, Capcom aims to use its exemplary development power to create games overflowing with originality to satisfy the expectations of our users.

obviously it's not in development for Wii U. the other one isn't announced so they can't put it here whether it's coming or not. the engine sounds like obviously multi platform.

Can't believe people are falling for this all over again..... Photoshopped HUD along with a scripted unplayable sequence. It's what there aiming for , just like the square Enix one.

It looks so damn good that I doubt it's real-time.

It looks better than the UE4 tech demos. Looks better than the Cryengine 3 tech demos.

Maybe it's a very small scale game?

I agree, it looked most impressive. And to think it's probably multiplatform!

Why isn't it called Dragon's Dogma 2 though?

UE4 demo has way more stuff going on with lighting and particles. Same with CryEngine3 IMO.
