Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

Indie Royale Debut Bundle is up.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller
McDROID
Master of Alchemy - Rise of the Mechanologists
CloudPhobia
Wimp: Who Stole My Pants?
6180 the moon

As you probably could tell by the bundle name, there's no Steam keys this time. Most of them is on Greenlight though, so don't forget to vote on your favorites.

Just to backup what you said; you get no Steam keys for this even though the page states

Download your games directly, or redeem on Steam & Desura

I suspect this might rile a few people

Is Cognition the full game or just the first episode?
Only the first episode unfortunately. In any case, only the first two episodes are already out.

I hope this bundle can raise the interest about the game and make Valve greenlight it. I backed it up on Kickstarter back then so I already own the first two episodes but I'm waiting for it to get on Steam to play them (OCD right there, lol).

In case anyone is wondering Happy Hour for Indiegala is up.

Ok, so I bought another one and got 4 extras for friends. I may have an extra bundle to give depending on who wants it among my friends.

Btw, are any of the games in this bundle except Earth Defense Force and Paranormal worth even distributing the keys? I don't want to clog up my nor my friend's Steam game list with crap.

Happy "Hour" is over for today but I imagine it'll go up again later/tomorrow before the bundle is finished.

Depends on your friends...

Miner Wars 2081 turned out to be meh, but a lot of people have expressed interest in it regardless and my keys were gone pretty fast.

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
In case anyone is interested, these were my impressions from the IndieRoyale bundle:

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller - $9,99 (PC, iOS)

Havent played much of that actually yet, but the art style is pretty well done and the premise: "with one touch, she can see the past and piece together how a crime unfolded" sounds pretty awesome. Its an episodic release, and only part 1 and 2 are out yet. I also really liked the comic style they were going for here.

McDROID - €12,99 (PC)

A decent tower defense game with some minor RTS elements thrown in. I played a few levels and it works pretty much as you would expect it to. The cell shaded graphics look really nice and the 4 player coop is a welcome addition too. If you crave a tower defense game, this will probably serve nicely. Only caveat is that there doesnt seem to be too many levels, which is a bit of a bummer for the price. At least they make up for that by offering multipled challenges per level to replay and alter the level once you finished the normal one.

Master of Alchemy - Rise of the Mechanologists - €8,99 (PC)

An incredible machine type of game. Unfortunately, its not all that engaging since the mechanics you have at your disposal feel like they are repeating to no end. Its not BAD, but unfortunately its not all that good either and heavily misses variation. I finished about 1/3rd of the game, and while its nice that the game still introduces new mechanics, it doesnt do enough to mix things up in an interesting and $10 justifiable way.

CloudPhobia - €5,99 (PC)
Cloudphobia_PC_Test007.jpg

A decent shmup with good controls and some nice enemy mecha designs. I like my shmups to have powerups so that didnt feel too exciting to me. The overall formula is well done though and the game puts up a big fight against any player. Definitely a challenge. Too old (2009), so I wont put it in the OP.

6180 the moon - €4,99 (PC)

This here is probably the gem of the bundle. The screenshot makes the game looks deviously simple, but there is quite a bit more to it. I really liked the sound integration too which basically rewards you by advancing in the game with a more involved sound palette and more challenging levels. The main mechanic of the game is quite different and it will probably take a while for a new player to wrap its head around it. Surprisingly good!

I posted them over in the Indie Games thread for march:

Yep, and according to their Steam Greenlight page all customers will get Steam keys when (if?) greenlit. (Thanks graywolf)

...it's a great time to jump into Cognition. And don't forget, all existing customers will be eligible for Steam Keys when we're Greenlit!

Thanks for the heads up, I've got the email with the code, so I'll be buying it later on~ i GOT Ep. 1 for $4, so with the discount, I'd have bought the entire series for $18~

Miner Wars was the only thing I was interested in with the bundle but I remember you told me a while back that it sucked. That's why I didn't bother. Do you know by any chance if they ever got around to fixing the game?

Pretty sure at least the online requirement was removed and it's now playable offline, but the fun factor was never addressed. It's essentially a Descent wannabe with a tacked on "persistent sandbox" world that's barren and pointless, and the itemization and resource management is really bad. If you do play it I'd advise sticking to the storyline missions and just expecting some shallow action and pew pew. It won't take long before you know if you like it or not.

Still doesn't sound too promising. Guess I made the right choice to skip the bundle then.

As was mentioned earlier, Tiny Troopers is heading up the Bundle Stars bundle.

They recently put a tweet out doing a giveaway where the only condition was to mention your favorite game in the bundle. Was really cool seeing almost everyone say Tiny Troopers. Made my day.

We're getting ready to release the next instalment in the series, here is a little teaser of gameplay.

Splice, Sword and Sworcery and Crayon added to humble bundle

Yeah, I was hoping for some surprises for the hidden games. I've gotten some of those titles five or six times already, but all in all, it's just a humble bundle. You get what you pay for and I'm satisfied with it.

I played a little bit of Doom & Destiny last night and thought it was pretty cool. It's the current game @ indiegamestand.com. I jumped on it late, so I can't really play much before the deal is up.

i played a bit too and it seemed well made for the bit i played. At the very least they took the time to hide items around.

I haven't put much time into it either, but it's a pretty easy recommendation for people who like SNES style JRPGs as it's only a buck and worst case someone hates it lol.

Feels good to buy these indie bundles and throw some money to charity :)

Anyways, I have an extra "Dungeon Defenders + all DLC" steam key if anyone wants it. Just send me a PM

Bundle's currently broken. 500 error when trying to purchase. Guess that's why only one has sold as of this post.

That Groupees bundle is quite fantastic. Too bad I already own them all. It's a shame that Wadjet Eye doesn't own the rights to Emerald City Confidential.

And yet another bundle, pretty good I reckon:

Name Your Own Price Bundle

Under the average:
  • The Journey Down Chap 1
  • Aztaka
  • Ibomber Defense

Over the Average (Currently $4.53):
  • Above +
  • Blades of Time
  • Spacechem
  • Cubemen

All Steam keys + DRM free version (Mac and PC). Not sure what the minimum for steam keys is, probably $1 like humble.

Are you a human? Unfortunately, due to technical issues, we can't accept payments for less than $1. Besides that, come on, you don't want these poor indie game devs to starve, do you?
