Hmm, I have an idea for a revised Spartan Ops distribution system.

-Week 1 (Prologue) begins with a relatively small, but open vista that marks the beginning of a hub world. In terms of scale, think maybe Paradiso or Sandtrap. Keep in mind that it only has a few small vehicles, strewn about weapons, etc. If it's on a Shield World, it could use a L4D Director system that just throws some basic waves of Sentinels or Engineers at you, whom killing is optional. Alternatively, you could pull a Minecraft and have the hub have a "peaceful" period and every 30 minutes or so there'd be a wave of patrolling Sentinels.

Combat takes a back seat to exploration, with the Hub having things like Skulls, Terminals, Audio Logs, etc. hidden around.

In addition to this, 4 missions are available, sort of like ODST meets Borderlands. They're bite-sized campaign missions, initiated through plot trinket-induced flashbacks just like ODST.

Week 2 expands this hub world and increases the weapons and vehicles available to the player and adds 4 more missions, either continuing the stories of the past week or introducing new arcs (following a consistent set of characters).

This increases exponentially in terms of enemies, firepower, and whatnot until week 10. Week 10's hub is about the size of two Forge Worlds and features plentiful Banshees, Scorpions, etc. and the hub is now teeming with enemy patrols. Maybe even air traffic, Phantoms, a distant Carrier...

Beating the 4 missions of Week 10 essentially "unites" everyone and unlocks either a bonus chapter or Episode that features the entire squad back together fighting their way through the wartorn hub.

Note that hubs 1-10 would have certain "lost forever" elements like an RPG, but on a smaller scale; a Terminal active in Hub 2 may not show up in Hub 6, for example. However, all your material "carries over" to the following hub depending on personal progress, with skulls or data pads ultimately stored in a trophy room, database, or even option menu in the main game.

Dunno if you've seen, but Postmortem from FUD is building out a hypothetical season 2 with concept art and level designs, might pique your interest since you're thinking in similar spheres. http://www.forwarduntodawn.com/

So been a bit since this morning and a couple pages for 25 and 50 ppp folks.

Non US gaffers here is your chance. PM me if you want to throw your name in the hat for a copy of Silentium for Kindle. Remember you will need an Amazon.com account in order to claim this. Entries will be accepted till 11:59 PM Pacific time Friday. After that time entries will not count. Saturday morning I'll announce the winner and PM them the code to redeem.

Again please note this is for foreign Halogaffers and that an Amazon.com account will re required to redeem it.

Also for anyone who says but I don't have a kindle. Remember there are Kindle apps for IOS, Android, and even a PC app and their own cloud reader.

Links to last two are below:

So HotS doesn't come with a manual but it comes with a notebook to write down build orders and take notes lol. So hardcore.

Halo 5 comes with tissues.

Mass Effect: Genesis comes with rice, tortillas, lime, pico de gallo, guacamole and beef so you can have gravitas.

Yo momma goes there to buy crack.
I have no mother; I was formed from the ancient magma seeping from the depths of the ocean floor, and shall exact brutal vengeance on those who dare to insult the parents I have longed for all these millennium.

Prepare, false Frenchman.

Think WoL did too. Although I dont even know enough to do build orders I just build stuff and lose. Campaign was fun though! Think I'll get HotS, but not sure. Whats it come with how many missions is it, is it like a full campaign or an expansion pack? Is there new training missions? I liked those. How many units does it add to each faction?

I wonder if there's any point to running that post-effect application on Halo 4. I think it already uses FXAA, so it'd be like FXAAing an already FXAA'd image.

Any chance of the panel being livestreamed? It isn't listed on the official PAX channel's stream schedule, but I didn't know if you 343 folks had anything planned on your own.

since frankie's reading the thread now, any good prizes for winning the h4 tourney at pax? also who will be there to sign stuff?
Yes! I think so anyway.
Hm. Bravo gave me the impression 343 wasn't connected to the PAX tournament.

I suppose donating prizes is separate from actually running the tournament though. I'll try to attend.

I saw a difference when I was using it. I mentioned it earlier, go on Abandoned and look at the bridge to top mid.
