I'm still sad that Davidson blew it.

And coming into the game, I really thought South Dakota St. would beat Michigan. They're a really good team, but they looked awful tonight.

edit: Oh yeah, and Belmont. They were even more disappointing!

I had Bucknell and Belmont both winning because it seems EVERY year they have a surprise up their sleeves.

This year I was wrong.

Frankie said showing the secondary weapon leads to confusion. But seriously, have any of you guys ever glanced at your secondary and confused it for another weapon? This seems like something a noob would do. Maybe it was commonplace over at 343i. Idk.

I can see why. In Reach especially, silhouettes started to look a lot similar. 343 didn't really help with some of their weapon choices, but there's also the fact that the sandbox of weaponry is twice as large as it used to be.

Thing is with this entire Halo needed to evolve to avoid becoming Unreal is 343i didn't evolve anything. They copied their competition and crammed it into their game.

Want evolution? Look at Destiny. I think destiny has a chance to become the next CoD. At the very least its going to steal a lot of Halo people.

If they wanted to evolve it they should have expanded on what Halo was good at. Even the campaign story felt small compared to the scope of the OT conflict.

Does nobody recall that people were so competitive in Halo that 50's would offer to do customs with you to help you get better. I think people forget how tight the community was. This is where 343i dropped the ball.

To be fair Bungie kind of threw them a bad pass with Reach.

And if Harvard wins my bracket is done.

Yup everyone makes it seem that with ranks, everyone was an asshole who treated you like shit. I'm still friends with guys I played with in H2 and I a rarely saw the griefing and straight betraying that happened with Reach and 4. Even in halo 3, once you got to a high level, people stopped dicking around because they knew a loss meant a derank.

Some of my beat matches were against colonels, brigadiers and generals in Halo 3.

Also, another thing I wish they didn't cut was chatting with the other team.

12 over a 5 doesn't count

At least Harvard's donging on New Mexico at the moment
It most certainly does. Granted, it happens every year (sometimes with 12's winning majority of match-ups), it's still an upset!

We both lost that one...

Just checked... goddddd my bracket is fuckin busted. I quit.

Nope, not everyone. Just Halo devs and the sheep.

bahhhhh

Ranks were the shit. I miss those things. Seems pointless to play Halo now.

Not having competitive ranks really eliminates the drive players have to get better at the game. Same holds true for any franchise.

Slayer pro 2v2v2v2 on new maps with TU. Kevin Franklin on my team, next to me on the couch. Every time my drink was low, bs angel would bring me a new Jack & Coke. Swag bag with a wireless R.A.T.mouse and other cool stuff.

It was fun. NYCC party was better though, if only because there were more GAF people to goof around with. Had a great conversation with vhfive though, dude is legit.

Yeah I saw, it was a fun match. You were pretty good about friendly fi-I mean, I'm not at PAX. Halo. Gravity.

It isnt hard to read e-books on the pc?

Welp, I pmed you.

Nope. I read my kindle books on my pc, phone, kindle fire, iphone all the time. it's of course easier with the bigger screens lol. That's the one big thing Amazon really got right with the kindle books. You can read it on all of those or even just the cloud reader via web browser. They really do make it easy to read your book where ever you want. It's weird cause as a kid I loved to read but over time I just found it annoying to lug books around so I quit reading a lot. However after going digital with my books I found myself reading more. More so after buying a kindle fire. It's nice to be able to lug around hundreds of books and comic volumes in one small reader.

And then you woke up.

IGN gave Bioshock a 9.4 but states it's hard to tell which is the better game, Infinite or the original. Seems like it's a must buy for sure, but they wrote that the 360 version suffers from pop-in, poor textures, etc.

Just got an idea for some Regicide variants to be mixed with some further VIP/Juggernaut settings.

Kingpin
FFA Regicide. Killing the king makes you the king. Having the highest score, however, makes you the Lancer and this title operates independently of the king (but cannot be owned by the king). Surviving as a Lancer for 30 seconds gives you Speed Boost but you have to actually live for a full-fledged 30, you can't just have the title. Both the King and the Lancer see Ordnance getting ready to drop 5 seconds before anyone else does. If the King has the highest score, the person in second becomes the Lancer. You also get an Overthrow medal for killing the King as the Lancer, and a Rebellion Crusher medal for killing the Lancer as the King, equivalent to King Joust medals in points.

Ambassador
Team Regicide relying on point-based Kings. However, similar to Rally or Escort, you have to take your King to different Ordnance drops on the map (which can be specified), at which point the King can pick up said weapon for bonus points. That way the King can still be "rewarded" with power weapons while still being a significant target due to the waypoint.

Embassy
Essentially Team Regicide meets Three Plots. Players have to escort their kings to hills, which are promptly "locked down" after the King holds it for long enough. There are three hills: Red Hill, Blue Hill and Green Hill. Note that kills will still earn points. Bonus points are rewarded for killing a King trying to steal a hill, etc. You can either keep hills locked or unlocked in customs to be able to recreate Race. However, as a reward for helping your King capture an area, anyone in a hill that gets captured by their king is given a powerup respective to their hill (Green Hill gives you Overshield, and so on). The King likewise receives this bonus.

Glad I got a nice gaming PC, I'll pick it up later this year when it is hopefully on a Steam sale.

From the review after talking about the wooden NPC's, poor textures and frame rate hitches...

"The PC version, as run on mid-range hardware, makes no such visual compromises, with gorgeous high-resolution textures, detailed faces, and smooth performance".

So even if you have a mid range or even older PC you can expect Bioshock to play better than the console versions I guess.

I'm definitely going to buy it though, reading the review it seems like Ken Levine and his team actually improved on the original.

It was reviewed by the same guy that gave Halo 4 a 9.8.

That's true... But it's different since Bioshock is single player only. There's no multiplayer to worry about, you judge the game solely on its campaign.

People need time with a halo game to decide whether it's good or not, so many people rated it highly the first few days only to reverse their tune later.

I don't really trust IGN much, they're always rating games higher than others.

I already have it paid off. I can already tell Infinite will have infinitely more replay value than Halo 4.

cwutididther

Even if it doesn't have much replay value, I enjoy games like these because they provide a once in a long time experience. I still remember playing the first bioshock and being blown away at how good it was etc.

But IGN has the campaign coming in at 10-15 hours for a first play through depending on how you play and whether you try to find audio recordings and other collectibles.

How do I get games ahead of time and review them?

Spend years slurping publisher dee until your news site qualifies for the Publishers white list and then make sure you follow the "topics that can't be talked about" list you get with the email or your going to be black listed quicker than Paris Hilton

These last two are good, although the first one seems a little hard to explain, even more so in-game.

I think a game of Juggernaut and a game of Regicide happening in the same game is probably the most concise answer I can offer. As far as a gametype description, it could be simple enough. I think I'd rename the Lancer to an Ace though, actually.

"Kings are Juggernauts, crowning their killers in death. Aces are always first. Kill the royalty to earn points. As the royalty, forge alliances with your equal or overthrow them."

It also immediately establishes a dynamic between the King and Ace as they're never the same person: do you try and work with the King to grab Ordnance and focus on his killers so you earn points? As a King, do you protect the Ace for his backup until you can kill him to win the game? Or do both just try and go for eachother to earn bonus points?

I mean hell, you could even make the person in last a Joker somehow, though it'd be difficult to implement it as a wild card without destroying the game like how Regicide is right now.
