Hair Sex - 01

Did you enjoy GJBU?

Did you like the hair brush sex scenes?

Well it's time to go LEWDER!

iFNirm9CIP1mS.gif

The premise itself looks like it's going to turn into a battle of the murderer descendants, no idea if what is hinted at will work.

I might have to watch this now, but I can only imagine this will all end in tragedy.
The tragedy that they will cut her hair short.

The OADs were pretty boring imo. Good animation but there's really nothing else good about it. What exactly is so good about this franchise anyway? Kou Matsuo's series sucked, Ryo-timo's OADs sucked. Why do they keep making more of it? Or is this another one of those "if it looks good I don't care about the plot" things?

The manga doesn't even look good so I have no explanation for YQ's popularity.

Watched the new Naruto opening...
I've been wondering something.
Does Sony have some sort of monopoly on anime songs?
I mean, this new opening is by NICO Touches the Walls, a Sony band. All of the Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, Space Brothers, Psycho-Pass, etc... songs have been performed by artists signed to Sony.
Guess I'm the only one caring about it but still :lol

What do you mean by monopoly? Sony Music invests heavily in the anime industry because it is a great platform for them to push their artistes. Aniplex is a subsidiary of Sony Music. If they are a sponsor, distributor, or on the production committee of a project, the artistes will be from Sony Music because they're basically paying for it.

Just couldn't think of another word :p
Didn't know about Aniplex, now I understand. Thanks!

You know I have just noticed this lol. Many of the animes they do also seem to have psp's and ps3's in them hmmmmm.

The new ending is pretty catchy too.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - 39: One Departure

~ There's no such thing as absolute righteousness? ~

Julian will be separated from Yang for the first time in his military career. Time for character development!
The episode mostly involved Julian saying his goodbyes.
It was pretty funny to see Cazellnu and Schennkopp insinuate Yang was the irresponsible one of the two.

Isn't that how ClariS got popular after having the opening in oreimo. Seems like a good strategy.

Gintama' Four Devas of Kabuikcho Arc
If I had a couple, super minor, complaints the first would be it honestly felt a bit too short. There were aspects they could have shown us a bit more of and just let it breath. The massive battles would have worked better if they were a hair longer.

This is a general problem of Gintama after it started taking breaks. Aside from some very rare moments, they're right now only animating things straight out of manga pages. In the battle scenes, each attack and movement is basically taken straight out of the manga and animated perfectly. It IS well done, but does result in quick battles and short stories.

The last year of the original Gintama anime kind of suffered by trying to extend some things that didn't need extensions, because they were so close to the manga, and I'm happy they aren't doing that anymore, thanks to the breaks, but they could afford to give some extra meat to the manga's storyboard for the story's own sake, even if they don't need to worry about catching up with the manga anymore.

Another thing is the Four Devas were really poorly setup. Their existence felt cobbled together and really MacGuffin-y. They could have really used like an episode or two in a previous arc to set up and establish their presence.
The four devas had been mentioned before (way back in the first year of the anime), but there was no continuous hype or build up for them.

Windy Tales 13

A beautiful ending for a beautiful series.

This might be the first show that I can remember where the characters graduate from school in a way that isn't sappy and sentimental. Life just goes on. Things change. People find the wind in their heart. They still have lives to live. It manages to tread the line of concluding things without making it seem like the world has come to a halt. I like it.

Hi there, delurking to say thanks for writing these impressions, Windy Tales is one of only 7 (out of 200+) shows I gave a 10 to on MAL and is very close to my heart. I was really curious how you and others would react to the last episode, for some reason it really hit hard for me emotionally, the lack of sentimentality gave it a feeling of "mono no aware" that I found almost overpowering. Sigh. Anyway thanks again, time to relurk.

Some pretty crazy hyperbole.

Not really, it could be a better show than both (I enjoyed E7AO more though), but the hype levels for Magi were off the charts (for me at least) and the quality of the source material is extremely high so the final product being subpar (and awful at some parts of the executio,n such as the visuals) made it a much bigger disappointment than those two shows.

Yay for Yozakura Quartet, I enjoyed the OVAs a lot.

Macross SDF - 03

So how team #minmay are not the correct team guys, she and Hikaru very funny and kinky, also looked gonna have sex anytime, sounds ideal. Meanwhile everyone call Misa old hag.

Btw I can't decide who that more awesome, Focker or Gloval.

Trust me by the end of the series there is -no- choice.

Minmay is fucking terrible. Misa is one of the best girls in the entire franchise, right up there with Sheryl.

Oreimo 6-12
... so that ended. I kind of want more because all the side characters didnt get fleshed out enough. I liked everyone but the sister usually.

It's apparently a shot from Majestic Prince!

I have faith that the show can overcome its, admittedly godawful, character art. The mecha action will be where it's at. Also, it looks like it could end up being fairly funny. It's a mecha comedy and we haven't had one of those in ages. Believe!

I have no idea. I didn't really understand what was going on in the OADs.

If it looks as good as those, though, I'm game to watch.

Now that I'm home I can properly view that NSFW Sword Art Online photo album vid. Did they add some random new girls to the plot or were they in the show all along but so insignificant that I forgot all about them.

More Nice. (NSFW)

The thing about Yozakura Quartet is it has a very bipolar story and terminology porn that would give any Final Fantasy XIII hater a heart attack.

However, every once in a while, a fight comes around that is very well-choreographed, strategic, creative, and just all around visually impressive. It takes some standard abilities and utilizes them in a way that's just enjoyable to watch play out. It also has one of the best uses of a materialization ability in fiction, as shown in the OADs.

Were the story more consistent/straight forward and the fights more frequent, I would consider it a high-tier battle shounen.

If the new season picks up where the OADs left off, I think fans of that will be in for a treat.

Well there is the 4 episode ONA series that pretty much is about everyone but the sister. Not to mention the second tv season airing really soon.

Nanoha StrikerS 5 (rewatch)

So we finally get to the first plot-related battle, and we get to see transformation sequences for Nanoha and Fate which are now a bit less lewd because they're adults now. Subaru was the only one of the new 4 that had a great transformation, Tiana's was ok but could have been more lewd, Caro's was boring and nobody cares about Erio. While the action was decent, it's really awful seeing Nanoha and company just fighting robot minions instead of combating other mages. It's just not Nanoha at all.

It's not from the show. It's an ad I think. :p

Aaah, okay, my bad. Haven't been able to watch the episode yet, and won't have a chance because TONIGHT IS 009 RE:CYBORG NIGHT!

Fellow AnimeGAFers who will be there, I salute you! Although I have no idea what most of you look like so I shall think of you in spirit. I plan on asking Kamiyama a question if I can think of anything interesting following the film.

Or if I'm capable of thinking at all afterwards :p

Well I'm just drinking a cuppa and then leaving. Going to have a quick bite in Waterloo see.

EDIT: Talking about 009 if it wasn't obvious.
