It really scares me how much Hayato reminds me of myself at age 10, if you replace the little sister with a little brother. And considering they have moved to Bumfuck japan from Tokyo, i'm kinda suprised they are allowed to go out by themselves (the fact that Ayato had no idea how the busses worked tells me the younger kids probably also have no idea).

Gundam The Origin Vol I: Sections I-VII
I'm most of the way through the first volume now, and I must say I really, really loved this adaptation. I have so few complaints. The book itself is a really nice size, the hardcover feels top notch and the pages are nice, crisp and sturdy.
As for the content, it's 0079 but significantly improved. Stuff about the creation of the Gundam and why it shows up on Side 07 make way more sense. A lot of the minor things they change just really serve to clean up the loose ends that really bothered from the series. The pacing works a lot better on the page as well. Overall, cannot wait until the second volume and the anime adaptation. This is the 0079 story getting treated the way it deserves.
If I had one, and only one, complaint, it's that the RX-78-2 is colored with a yellow v-fin. Booooooo.
