The 3DS library is going to rival the DS if a LTTP 2 and this game end up playing as well as their predecessors.
I am wondering if that's been quietly reimagined into this; no mention of Yarn Yoshi in the ND.
No mention because this was a 3DS ND and the Yarn game is Wii U.

...why are people judging it based on a YouTube video? Even the game videos in the eShop for games on 3DS have terrible compression artifacts.

It was probably mentioned already, but what's with the desaturated colours? Is it because of the video stream, or does the game actually look like that?

Fair point, I'd forgotten that. That said, an acknowledgment of the relationship between the titles wouldn't have gone amiss; something along the lines of "Last time around... and now, on 3DS, we bring you..."

This is the one game in today's ND that didn't grab me.
I am a huge fan of the first game and I can't put my finger on it but something about the look of this one seems off.
Hope they can address it before release.

Tbf YIsland does have annoying 'use 10 eggs to get through this foam' so it might work better than you think.

This game will be farmed out, and will be mediocre at best. I don't mean to be pessimistic, just realistic. Oh and also the series will die.

These high-quality GIFs make it look much better. It's definitely not as attractive as the original game, but I like it more than the style for Yoshi's Story. Could be good!

Doesn't look half bad.
But it all comes down to the level design. The level-destroying giant egg looks cool but reminds me of NSMB's stupid Mega Mushroom. Being compared to NSMB out of the gate is not a good thing for this game.
