Medals ? As in PGR medals ?

One of the achievement's description is this after all :
"You earned Medals by racing, jumping, and drifting 7 different Nissans!"

Anyway, I've been playing some Horizon over the past few days :

My favorite part is this

Plus, after all the complaints over the company shortchanging the players with DLCs full of cars you can get in previous Forza games (except for the perfect Jalopnik DLC), the people behind the game are apparently giving it out for free and throwing in the 1995 RUF CTR2 (essentially a modified 993) and a 1956 F100.

Yeah well but to get the new 250 gamerscore you have to buy at least 2 of the DLC car packs.

Free you say?

TOO BAD MOTHERFUCKER!

I finally finished and beat Darius but can someone tell me am I correct that there are no races in SP for R1 cars after that?

I have bought 4 R1 cars and would like to race them.

Also disappointed to see there are not CPU racers in MP so I can not do the F4 trick to play MP by myself.

Finally got FH a few days ago, and liking it so far. Seems like good timing with the free expansion, too!
Any room in the GAF car club? I could do with some decent cars for online races..! I sent H3rtZ a request for an invitation a few days ago (via XBL) but haven't seen him online for a while.

Edit: forgot to ask - I cannot get any radio audio at all. Am I doing something wrong? Radio is on and music volume is up. Weird.

I haven't even got the rally dlc yet mainly because I was expecting a bit more from it.
At the moment, I'm absolutely craving for a new car game. I've been trying to hold out for Grid 2 but it's taking forever. Maybe i'll jump back into Horizon.

Playground Games.....for Horizon 2, fix the audio mix. One of the main reasons I didn't go for a second round of career was because the volume mixing was off.
Also, I want even more focus on the cars and exclusive racing events. That is, I want to see a wider array of custom parts that reflect car culture at large. Wide kits, visible coolers, interior mods..etc.
More varied and focused racing disciplines such as drag and drift to be held at the event. Perhaps some skill based or show driving as well.

Other than that, everything else is spot on...

I should be able to invite you in, I will do it tonight after the kids chill out.

Car club invite sent, Mascot.

The 1000 Club DLC is great. All the medals seem to be earned on the open road, you can just scoot around and get them. Also like how you can change into a car anywhere. Not sure if that was there earlier. Sad that the fast travel anywhere is a paid feature though. Feels like something you'd see in a free to play game not a game that you bought for $60.

Sweeet! Thank you.
Agree about the 1000 Club DLC, too. Seems like a good addition, and nice that it's free.

yes nice free pack.. :)

only wish for the "timed event" medals to save your best time and be re-playable and also if they gave you some coin for winning the medals to help subsidize buying more cars. :)

Lighting and shaders are so much better in FH compared to FM4.
I noticed that I had only taken 90 photos in FH, goes to show how less I've played it compared to previous Forzas...

Can't complete the BMW medals achievement because I don't own all the DLC. I assume there are more that can't be completed with out other DLC. That's just a shame. Looks like I'll get back into this when there is a sale on the DLC for this game, or just shelf it for good.

I've found these to be unable to accomplish without DLC:
"Well Engineered" - medal with 10 different BMWs
"Lamborghini lover" - medal with 8 different Lamborghinis
"Snake Charmer" - medal with 3 different Shelbys
"Nissan Ninja" - medal with 7 different nissans

I own one DLC pack so maybe they are all unattainable without DLC. Kind of bummed about this.

Yes. No money, just the medals.
One step forward, one step back.

Hey, lets make this great open world game! (Releases rally expansion without free roam support)

Hey, lets add all these open world challenges so that players who just want to free roam around can make money by trick driving. And we'll even allow the popularity meter to be filled again and again. (Payouts only happen the first time you reach level 1 popularity)

Hey lets add all new challenges for each vehicle in the game! (Without cash rewards for completing them)

I mean, c'mon now. It'd be one thing if the DLC car packs gave you the cars to drive right away, but they don't, and grinding events to save up for the millions I need to unlock the cars of my dreams starts to lose its lustre after a while. And there's not much worse than having DLC cars in your in-game marketplace that you can't afford to actually drive.

Its like Playground doesn't appreciate the open world free roam style of playing the game. If it was always going to be purely about the events and multiplayer there'd be no need for the open world. They should really support that playstyle more than they have.

That is my main gripe with the game. You get like 20 million something credits from playing through the career but after that it is pretty hard to get some decent money.

Agree it sucks, need more cash rewards

only way to get quick cash is go to Gladstone Street races and run the R2 or R3 or S races with a 70-75% difficulty boost.

each of the $54k-$58k races net you between $94,000 and $104,000 with multiplier and only take a few minutes to complete rinse, repeat.

can add $1 million in about an hour of game time

Of course. Why else would they give it away for free?

If you turn off the assists you don't need, you can get a large cash bonus multiplier. I went through most of the game with about 130% bonus with all of the assists off and AI set to hard and I find the game more enjoyable when you can really feel the traction you're getting and what your car is doing.

They dropped around 12,000,000 on me from just the last race alone and if you play multiplayer, you're pretty much guaranteed to win a 250 California and 250 GTO in the slot machine which you can sell for 1,500,000 and 5,000,000 respectively. You can also do the Goliath street race repeatedly which can net you around 230,000 for 9 minutes of racing with assists off.

I've pretty much been swimming in money and buying whatever I want; credits don't seem to become tight after the endgame unless you went through the career with everything set to easy I imagine; I even gifted out a few Veyrons and a bunch of other cars to friends. Although it doesn't hurt to get free garage parts either.

(Payouts only happen the first time you reach level 1 popularity)
Are you sure this is how it is? Just this morning I filled up the meter again while doing the challenges and it dumped another 500,000 on me.

It may pay out the second time too, but not afterwards unless I'm glitched somehow.

In terms of events I always have assists disabled except for ABS, but I prefer to spend more time free roaming than doing the events themselves. And while there are a bunch of tiered rewards for free roam driving, they do run out.

Never got into the multiplayer but it does look like a good way to get cash and cars. Just wish you could subsist on the payouts from free roaming if that's your thing. It certainly feels that way at first, but over time you run out of challenge rewards.

Is that the best way to grind money? I've hit a giant wall and am pretty stuck. I'd love to get back and get medals, but I don't see how I can get anywhere close to the ingame credits to do so.

It's my go to for quick cash but I don't play multiplayer. Almost always a win on normal wit 70-80% difficulty. There are several races that are only two minutes race time there

Others may have a better way?

But guys, you can always buy cars with tokens. lol

I'm enjoying FH but the constant "OPEN YOUR WALLET TO WIN!" messages on every loading screen are embarrassing. What on earth were Turn 10 thinking? It's the type of thing I'd expect from EA. Or would this have been a directive straight from Microsoft?

And again, does anyone know why I can't hear the radio? (Maybe I need to buy the on switch with tokens?)
