I thought this was going to just be a set-top box? What are these games you speak of Mr. Greenberg? On a serious note, all of these chicken littles who said that Microsoft was going to abandon gamers will likely be eating a lot of crow in a few days. Public comments from the higher ups at MS (Greenberg, Phil Spencer, etc) have stressed how gamers will form the backbone of the future Durango base.

I hope we see Microsoft pull out the tricks that got them into this position. My hype level is through the roof- my expectations are high but I think we'll all be pleased. Hail to the king baby.

There were new IPs announced at E3 2010 MS conference? I remember the 360 Slim, Halo Reach, Gears 3, Black Ops Kinect, and some entertainment services.

I guess that is true.

Gears 3 was actually 2011: For 2010 Mass Effect 2,Splinter cell conviction and Alan wake[new ip],Fable 3,Halo Reach,Crackdown 2.

Not that I had doubts they wouldn't, but premiering CoD on the 21st is a genius move that will ensure continued brand association regardless of exclusivity. Sony will struggle moving multiplatform SW if this trend continues for another gen.

I think people are going to be surprised by the number of exclusives. The start of this gen is shaping up to be more like the ps2/xbox era in terms of third party partnerships. It's more than just a month for some DLC.

What was a boring way? To show a shooter in the conference?

To not give the impression of doing new things, seeing new things with new hardware and software. The big guns were franchise installments. Not a terribly interesting way to start off next-gen. I just expected more of Sony when they decided to show first.

Well they didn't, Knack was first. I don't think KZ was even second, but I'd have to check.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Hey, if they bring the exclusives, I'll get one. Just give me a reason to actually put down money for one.

No, I mean they decided to have their coming out party before MS' and doing it with those titles out in front as the face of next-gen.
I guess I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Sony shouldn't have shown any games in established genres? Just Media Molecule's game and The Witness basically?

Well, they were rumored to have gone earlier than originally planned. Which makes sense. There was a lot of "We'll have this down the track" in that reveal.

lol, that gif always gets me

Hopefully there are some awesome gifs to come out of the Xbox event on the 21st.

On one hand I want someone to mock him at E3 during their own presentation because it would be funny, but on the other hand he seems like a really nice guy so I don't want to see him get made fun of.

Since the show on the 21st is only 1 hour long, I don't expect them to show nearly as much as Sony did. Its actually probably less than 1 hour due to advert breaks.

It's 1 hour commercial free.

I'm actually excited for what they show on the OS side. Sony didn't really show much in terms of the OS. In fact, outside of the share screen, I don't recall seeing the OS actually running. They did send out some images and talked about what they wanted to do, but didn't actually show us anything running. I'm hoping MS will show us the OS running and talk more that. That should hopefully mean even more games talk at E3 since they got that out of the way on the 21st. :)

No, that they decided that they were ready to reveal next-gen with not-so-next-gen game concepts and ambition. Everything was too familiar with only a high-end PC coat of paint to really boast about. There wasn't a good enough show of exclusives.

That's what next-gen is. If Sony had to wait until they were ready to reinvent video games, they'd have waited forever.

LOL, have fun with COD, Titan, and Halo on the 21st.

You mistake me. I expect that stuff because that's the easiest thing to do. I also expect something more than just that, and not just in the sense of surprise. I expect first party or full exclusive software that inspires awe. Not reinventing the wheel, but doing something more than look prettier and on a larger scale of quantity.

When he says "all about the games"

is he referring to Microsoft only or is Nintendo and Sony in on this too?

edit- went to the link and found out that he was Microsoft rep sorry.

I would not be shocked if that showed up.

The only thing Gabe shat on more them Microsoft was the ps3 and look how that ended. I bet if MS got in touch and compromised on a few things for Valve games regarding steam he would come around fast.
There is literally no possible way MS has HL3 as an exclusive. They would have to buy Valve to get it.

Mirror's Edge 2 on the other hand, would be awesome to see.
