Not to discount the option of the new thread having something to do with pillows, but wouldn't a thread title with something along the lines of "Canadian Gaming Deals and Discussion Thread 3 (the last thread left us penniless)" kinda be funny?

Haha. I love this.

Picked up Steel Diver from BB for $1.57 tax in. Not a bad price for 40 Club Nintendo coins. Hopefully there's a post play survey for am extra 10 coins.

Oooooh tempting, is it possible to regiter the same game twice? I would grab 2 or 3 if that's the case. :p

Do PC component deals get posted in this thread? Right now you can get a core i5-3570k at Tiger direct for $199, but I want a core i7-3770k.

Reduced price is $209, but you can print a $10 off coupon right now and use it on any item, even ones already discounted.

I ended up getting Steel Diver for $1.50 at Future Shop. Good stuff.

I'm kind of tempted to pm Steel Diver despite already owning a copy, lol. I could keep the CN points, and I'll just "gift" the game to my friend. Let him decide what to do with it, wahahaa

Guys, let me know how Steel Diver is. I was planning on trading in a bunch of shovelware at EB games anyways, and need some new software for my 3DS. Steel Diver sounds interesting so I might give it a shot.

Still holding out until Luigi's Mansion 2 goes on sale, but as of lately nothing else has really interested me on my 3DS or Vita. Atleast until I see a few sales.

Hey have any of you guys actually called in to get your iPhones unlocked? I'm just wondering whether the process involves a restore, because I don't want to lose my jailbreak.

Is it really worth buying? I'm trying to justify the purchase but not so sure about its library.
Can you list a few games to make the purchase easier? lol

If you are fond of Nintendo 1st party support and jrpgs the 3DS is a no brainer.

If its cheap enough get it. I hardly even play mines but getting it for $120 in late 2011 was a no-brainer.

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Super Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time 3D (hands down best version of the game if you aren't already super tired of it), Etrian Odyssey IV, Mario Kart 7, Resident Evil Revelations, Virtue's Last Reward, and a slew of great titles on the eshop, as well as the juggernaut that is the DS back catalogue if you missed it. What are you looking for? What appeals to you?

(Game Days) Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for $20 is tempting, but gah I suck at fighting games.
Its fun at any level, seriously. The single player kumite mode is great and it has every tekken character EVER minus Gon. Ive been a Tekken fan since 2 and I feel confident in saying TT2 is the best Tekken ever.

oh rats, I thought the Wii U version would also be $19.99. Might've bit on that, as the Nintendo crap they threw into that game looks pretty funny.

Hmmmm, looks like I will take a look at it then. I still enjoyed Tekken 2/3 on the PS1 and Tekken 5 on the PS2 despite not being good at them.

Resistance 3 worth $10 guys? I'm in the process of playing the first one and it's pretty cool. But I remember playing the Resistance 3 demo a while back and I thought it was mediocre.

It's worth it for $10. However if you think "Jason" from Heavy Rain was bad you'll hate this game as you're reminded what your name is every sentence.

I dipped in at $20 and its my favorite game in the series.

Then again, I'm a fan of the series and was disappointed that Insomniac decided to cut it loose. Just when they started to get things together after 2.

I never played the demo for R3 but went in for the full game. Its definitely a solid game, its much shorter than the dreadfully long Resistance:Fall of Man, and you definitely get a feel of the post-chimeran invasion/post-apocalyptic America.

It becomes a last ditch effort to save your family basically. Universe seems very bleak and hopeless, with the few instances you help humans along your journey to your final destination: The Chimeran Tower at New York, to close the worm hole.

The story was pretty good overall, its much better than the other 2 games laid out but my main gripes with it was that it never went into the lore of the Chimera. Its basically a survival story and the Chimera become the weirdest hostile aliens you will ever run into. Theres clashes inbetween Feral and Regular Chimera and you will fight both along the way.

The ending (without spoiling anything) leaves a lot to be desired. And the way Insomniac left the series will leave you going "what the fuck? That was it? Really?" because you get so far of a great game to have a ending almost as abrupt as Mass Effect 3, and pisses off alot of people since they try to cover all the plotholes in one stone but it doesn't work because as I said it leaves you wanting more.

That being said, I believe the game has amazing replay value and if you are a typical fan of FPS that try something different with weapons and the environment then you will enjoy this game. Especially if you enjoyed Half-Life.

If you are looking for Modern Warfare or Battlefield esque campaigns, this isin't the game for you.

Gameplay focuses on using creative different weapons. Striving for new ways to kill, and Insomniac wants you to try these weapons instead of the typical semiautomatic rifle or Ak47 most FPSs hand you.

My personal favorite weapon was the Magnum and following up with its secondary fire. You can watch enemies splatter to bits.

So yeah, to sum up its a game definitely worth $10 for the Singleplayer experience alone. I never played the MP but the SP was well worth the $20 I put invested.

Maybe the first 10-20 minutes yeah, but later on I don't think anyone mentions your name besides the few typical instances from Malikov before the game hits the midway mark.

The unique one of a kind enemies and one of a kind weapons made this game for me. The setting was alright, its not overally linear and gives you a certain push of freedom.

I think most of the game's gripes were the MP, and the ending, plus that the game was shorter than Fall of Man but I personally think Fall of Man was way too long. I had to co-op that game for over a week with 2 different people and fill them in how the game works so it was a blast.

Not sure if this was posted here yet but Dragons' Crown is 39.99 for pre-order on amazon.ca, bestbuy and futureshop, which is $10 less than EB or USA stores.

The official artbook should come as a bonus with an amazon or ebgames pre-order right now.

Amazon's page doesn't seem to mention anything about the art book. Has it been confirmed anywhere they'll carry it?

edit: hrm, it's linked on Atlus' pre-order page, so I guess that's reasonable confirmation. Okay, will put my amazon order in before they possibly raise the price. :p

Amazon.ca is not the greatest at writing those things on a game's page... As a collector they are always a good source of stress. I went for amazon for this one, but I still wonder if I should change to EB. No matter what people say about them, at least their bonuses are always clear.

Edit: I wanted to add that the more I look at it, the more I think that it really looks like it might be with all the first print edition, no matter where you buy.

Hmm. I've already traded in an Xbox for the copies of it at eb, but that's a great price. Hope you get the bonuses.

Amazon.ca now has a food store.

When you choose your category, click on the left hand link to choose to sort by seller. Very little sold by Amazon themselves so far, but hopefully this will change. I'd actually consider a prime membership if they can get as wide a variety of food products as it's other counterparts have.

Just walk down College or keep an eye on ncix and/or newegg for a sale. Ram is pretty steadily going up so you might have a hard time finding a deal.

Seems to me like a pretty solid library!
I don't think I'll be looking for more than that : )
Now I'll have to wait for a good offer cause I won't pay more than 150$ lol
The WiiU looks pretty bad right now in my opinion, especially with news like EA saying they're not developing anything for it right now...

Exactly, I'd definitely sign up for prime if Amazon themselves has a good food store. Lots of stuff that I'd rather get it delivered than carry it myself lol

On the other hand... it's not like EA gave Wii any meaningful support from a multi-platform owner's perspective apart from Boom Blox. I guess you could say that EA's lack of support for Wii U is a bad sign for the future, but just in terms of software output, we're not missing out on much from EA.
