What does that red line about Bluetooth say?
This driver does not support bluetooth
What does that red line about Bluetooth say?
Well I don't know lol, that same thing happened to me too though .
Actually, I just managed to make that happen, by using the "Remove" option in the driver manager of the latest version, and removing both the USB and BT driver that way before uninstalling the program. Then, when reconnecting the controller (after a reboot), it was no longer picked up as a MiJ controller. So that seems to be a safer way to get rid of everything than doing it the way you described, at least for me.
Then, of course, I proceeded to reinstall the program and the drivers, but it's good to know that they seem completely removable with the latest version (with which BT is now also working great, which it didn't when I just upgraded from the previous version).
Iirc it leaves a trail in appdata, may be why.
And given how most games don't give a shit about GFWL I imagine it'd be possible to put in both button sets. But then maybe Microsoft doesn't like when people try to do that with games that already have their buttons in them? Would be nice though, especially if Nintendo did the same (but they would be the most resistant to it, naturally.)Really though, why not? At the very least Sony would see an increase in PS3 controller sales.
Okay, now this is interesting. To anyone using Motioninjoy, I'd recommend you use this version.
Is an offline version that removes all the ad's and much improves the GUI. You still need the regular program installed, just don't run it and use the alternative versions .exe instead inside the Motioninjoy install folder.
Okay, now this is interesting.
It will still keep the settings you made in MiJ right?
To fully uninstall MiJ, first uninstall it, then go to device manager (with the controller plugged in), and the Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class entry.
Click on MiJ and uninstall, click the checkbox, and your good.
Motionjoy totally fucked up my wife's Logitech mouse/keyboard combo and I've yet to be able to get it to work (I need to format her computer, but she won't let met). I've got the F710 and it's a fantastic controller. What I like about these controllers is that there's a switch on the back to support DInout (the old API for controllers) and XInput (the new API for 360 controllers). That means it'll work with older PC games, but can act as a 360 controller for the PC as well.
They also have a d-pad that flat destroys the 360 one.
There is a way to fix that.
Get the hardware IDs of the products that Motioninjoy hijacks(but doesn't use at all).
Then go to Motioninjoy>ds3>drivers>MijXinput config file. Find the ID's of those products inside the file and erase them. After that uninstall motioninjoy, then re-install it and everything should be good to go.
That's how I got it to work after it absorbed my wireless mouse/keyboard.
Except it keeps coming back even after doing that and rebooting.
Assuming you're using it for PC games and not just emulators, you will eventually run into issues mapping the ps3 buttons to xbox 360 layouts. (since most PC games default to this and offer no alternatives) There is An option to emulate xbox templates within motion joy, but then when you get the on screen button prompts they willusually be xbox button icons. It's just a headache imo, just grab a wireless 360 adapter off Amazon, plug and play.
Do people not fundamentally understand that some other people prefer different controllers?
The reason I have the ds3 is because I hate the xbox controller, no other reason.
Xpadder is the stuff of dreams. I used it ever since I replayed Mass Effect on my PC (I couldn't play this game with KB+M because I was so used to the 360 version at that time).
For every game that hasn't native 360 support I've always been using Xpadder since then.
I really really wish someone came up with an alternative to MotionInJoy. Good as itis (and yes, I've been using the offline version for a few months), it sometimes takes a while to recognize my PS3 pad.
Tru dat. It does have a few oddities (mostly regarding using multiple shift/set change buttons), but otherwise it's my controller -> keyboard + mouse mapper of choice. I woudn't play Guild Wars 2 (yes, an MMO) without it. It also turns flash games (Megaman vs Street Fighter, Mario Bros Crossover, Rokko-chan) into actual games!
ps3 controller + motioninjoy + xpadder = my life is complete. playing the witcher with it right now and it's super playable and awesome.
Since motionjoy, my inside laptop bluetooth - which I wasn't using much, died.
I stumbled upon this yesterday (Pinnacle Game Profiler): http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/for...er-in-Xbox-360-Controller-Only-Games-with-PGP
Why do you need XPadder? Can't you do what it does with just MiJ?
If I uninstall the MiJ drivers Windows automatically installs the regular BT drivers again after rebooting the computer, that doesn't happen for you?
MiJ only hijacks Bluetooth signals, right? So I should be fine with any other wireless USB components?
Here's an old post of mine about fixing that issue..
Heads up, the offline version of MiJ, linked on this page is great. Thanks.
Got a bluescreen as well with the "online" (ad) version
look at using betterDS3, it still requires MiJ, but only for install.

I tested and it seems that it makes Steam go into big screen mode, so I'm guessing Steam itself put in 360 emulation support for the DS3. Hopefully similar can be done with the DS4.The other method out there now doesn't require motioninjoy at all. You just plug your PS3 controller in or hit the PS button and it is a 360 controller.
It is quite handy.

Motioninjoy is still handy sometimes, but as above this is better:

Motion in joy is practically malware.
Does it work with PS3 controllers plugged into USB? I was liking one driver until I realized that it needed bluetooth.
Yes. It doesn't explicitly state it in the instructions so I was a bit worried when first installing it, but just uncheck everything BT related when installing, plug in your PS3 via USB, and it works fine.

Ah cool, I hope it doesn't do what MotionJoy did - MJ assumed every input device is a controller lol
+1 for this. I used to use MIJ and recently switched over to this. I use two controllers plugged into USB (also use them wirelessly for my PS3), haven't had any issues.Motioninjoy is still handy sometimes, but as above this is better:

Warning: MotionInJoy works good, but it can fuck up Logitech peripherals that use the Unifying receiver. Also, it's almost impossible to completely remove from your computer (at least for me).
