GEIST will be mediocre. I have a feeling the multiplayer will be better than the single player.

I'm actually most excited to see Black. Sounds intense.

Yeah STALKER sounds OK. With the "living world" that they are trying to present, the game could go either way.

We'll see, though...

Rough edges become a bit more acceptable when the content is compelling enough. The atmosphere seems solid and I'm interested in exploring the areas they are presenting (and those ares are REALLLY big).

Deus Ex, for example, had some pretty weak mechanics in there, but the experience was fantastic.

Of course, these guys don't really have any kind of solid track record...so I'm not holding my breath here.

Unreal Championship 2 in the console world, although I'm unsure with the mixed 3rd person / 1st person view ability if it still qualifies. Black would be another to keep an eye on.

For the PC I'd say probably Quake 4. It's hard to imagine that Stalker or F.E.A.R will get a 10th the buzz that Half Life 2 or Doom 3 got.

After Halo 2 and Half-life 2 hit I really don't expect to see another majorly hyped huge FPS for at least 4 years. There's just at all that can be announced at this point and reach the hype factor of those 2 games.

The multiplayer is going to be really good. I played it at GS. The makers are also members of a top counterstrike clan and as a result it has many counter strike influences. I dont think anyone has played the single player. The real single player hype dont start for a while yet. I'm thinking they are waiting for HL2 come out first. Supposse dot be some surprises.
