Naruto Road to Ninja aka Sakura is kind of a bitch

I basically dropped the series despite it being kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. But I have watched all the movies (Anime movies from series tend to hit that spot...doesn't hurt that the budgets are normally better and they tend to play up the good parts of the seires...mainly not the main plot lol) but this was pretty damn good.

I realized that I just enjoy the cast of Naruto. In the main plot they are handled really poorly sadly.

As for the movie, pretty good. The character switches were hilarious
Psycho Hinata proves she is still best girl no matter what
.

Some things that stook out tho:

Villian :
It was pretty obvious that it was Naruto doppleganger from the voice also made no sense why he was evil...I mean he still had a family...wtf?

Sakura really came out poorer than usual. I mean she only really changes her tun after she realizes it's not fun anymore? smh.
also where was her counterpart...if Naruto had one...why doesn't she

It's not perfect by no means and if you hate Naruto...then stay away obviously...but if you ever liked it...give it a shot. It's weirdly nostalgic.

Well now I'm going to attempt to decipher this, as my brain isn't really functioning properly right now. It's a bit of a challenge really. I'm guessing right now, it's the fix up the mistakes as your new producer right? I mean some of those shots made me think "Are you guys serious? Idoling is serious business man."

I don't mind steak fetishes. I like mine medium rare.

So I'm guessing Iori and the Twins are trouble makers, as they have the more childish appearence of everyone, and apparently Makoto must be the best if her smile is capable of making people faint. I'm looking forward to you. Anyway, from what I'm watching, right now it's trying to tell them, and US, about their attributes and what makes them stand out, even if they aren't aware of it immediately. Guess I'll see how that plays out... when I'm not feeling lacking.

Valvrave 7-

This is the best show I've seen since Code Geass. Holy shit this is amazing. If that prologue is where they're going with the story then this might make its way on my all time favorite list.

Look how far Valvrave impressions have come. Now it's basically the second coming. This is pretty much the opposite of a normal posting cycle, where a show starts good but declines in quality over the duration.

Nobita's Dinosaur (2006)
[...]

- Damn good pacing. Starts out laconically, picks up speed, ends with a bang. It never stumbles along the way. The narrative maintains a sense of rhythm that few adventure movies of this sort can ever claim to match.

- As much as I enjoyed the latter half of the movie (with its grand feel for adventure), the way it establishes the story is quite noteworthy, too. I really liked how Nobita was handled throughout the film--you get a good sense for how he thinks, and why he does the things he does. When he's eagerly speculating about the kind of fame he'd receive thanks to the dinosaur, it's a nice mixture of selfishness and innocence, the sort of short-shortsightedness befitting a child. The movie never spells it out for the viewer, but it's all implicit in how it handles it.

As I mentioned when I wrote my impressions, I was really impressed by both the structure and the pacing of the movie. I was surprised by how much time was devoted to establishing both the characters and the world in a children's movie; I expected there to be about ten minutes of time devoted the set-up, not a good half an hours worth of content.

Hunter X Hunter - 81

Probably the best Chimera Ant arc episode so far. It was over too soon though, I really should let these pile up so I can marathon them.
Next week's preview showed some sakuga so it should be great.

There's a newspaper article talking about Maruyama and MAPPA, and it had a few bits of interesting information about their upcoming film project:

Someone give Maruyama some money, please!

"Even though Maruyama has yet to secure funding for the production of "To All the Corners of the World," he has already started making it, proving that the passion passed down through the DNA of Mushi Production is still alive and well."

:(

Doki Doki! Precure Episode 17

I'm finding Regina to be a really cool character, there's only one royal crystal to go, The plot thickens!

I just wish Cure Rosseta wasn't only there to spam her stupid shield attack.

Utena

Can I just skip these Nanami episodes or is there a point to them? Seeing her turn into a cow was kind of funny, but it felt like filler.

Glad you picked this up. It's a really fun show the likes of which we don't get anymore.
Attack on Stillshots 8

Jesus I'm not sure who is worse, Toei Budget or Wit's End Studios, there's a shit ton of still shots, and they last for like.... half a minute sometimes. It's ridiculous. It's nice that action gets animated but damn.
I think it's clear the problem with WiT Studios is not the money, but the time constraints.

Valrave The Liberator 1

But holy shit, animu CG has come a long fucking way. This might be the first time ever Ive been totally satisfied with CG mecha.

The CG mechs in Akito are much better, thanks to the skilled people at Orange. Great shading. The CG in Valvrave isn't terrible, but the messiness of the show's mech designs doesn't do it any favors.

It's unfortunate that despite his many years in the industry supporting so much talent, Maruyama still can't get anyone to fund what he wants to make.

That's basicaly the same thing. If they have money they could outsource work to other studios. Either the budget is quite low for some reason or AoT is victim of bad project management.

They are using other studios. According to Duckroll, 22 different animation studios worked on just the animation alone in Shingeki #8.

It's not the same thing. Most of the episodes have been substantially outsourced. There were 22 animation studios working on the animation of Titan 8. The problem is that the producers didn't give the show enough lead time to be able to produce a decent product.

fuck the ending of the new OreImo episode

you don't mess with my feelings like this ;-;
They don't even fucking kiss

Yeah. I got annoyed enough to chase down light novel translations. And well...quite a bit of eye rolling was involved. I was somewhat happy about one bit of storyline though.

I was mostly just curious whether or not they served a narrative purpose or were just filler.
You shouldn't scorn otherwise entertaining episodes for not pushing the plot forward, especially in a show that spends much of its time examining its characters. Preoccupation with "filler" is mainly for shows based on long-running manga, where the source material is dropped to fill time and they just muddle along.

I never scorned them, you're coming on a bit too strong here. As I said before, I was more curious than anything else. Have I just stepped on land-mine with these Nanami episodes?
