Ya, I just played System Shock 2 for the first time back in March before Infinite came out, it looks incredible with mods. Considering.

Does System Shock 2 hold up?

I'm guessing some of the games mechanics must feel archaic? Would someone like myself without nostalgia for the franchise enjoy it?

Basically lining up my screenshots and going into the pause menu (which gives teh game this effect). I think I'd prefer playing it entirely like this.

imo it still holds up .

this is a comparison without mods .

sure. unmodded the game certainly shows it age but not to say it looks butt ugly.
(the texture mods are basically high res versions of the original)

SS2 gameplay wise is like its spiritual sucessor Bioshock but without the handholding and more micromanaging .

one thing that took some getting used to was the inventory and finding everything on the interface altough i personally blame that on devs simplefying everything in games today.

You need to have 60hz resolutions

And Alan Wake accepted these resolutions. Only American Nightmare didn't.
