For some reason, the game wouldn't let me put higher resolutions... But i still liked the screenshot, so i thought i should still post it :p

Try and set your desktop resolution to the one you want to use before you start the game and then it will be available in the game options, that is how it works for me in this game

What does run better mean in Metro's context? I get around 28-40 FPS in Crysis 3 with everything at max and SMAAx2 as compared to 40-60 FPS with everything in Last Light at max with the standard AA(ie, SSAA off)

Crysis 3 definitely has more impressive lighting and more consistently detailed textures. Last Light is certainly no slouch though, my main complaint is the reduced Smoke effects. Just such a simplification from the model in 2033.

I have both on Very High(basically) and I'm getting 40-60 with Crysis 3 and 20-30 for Metro. If it looked significantly better than okay but to me it doesn't

Weird, I guess you use AMD? Because I'm only using a 4GB GTX670 and got 60 FPS most of the time(only hubs bring it down to 40) while streaming with the settings at max outside of the super sampling being turned off.

And different strokes I suppose. I agree Last Light doesn't quite match Crysis 3 but it's easily the closest competitor on the market. The rally scene in particular was incredible, perhaps you'll change your mind once you get further in the game. Then again, if the game is running that poorly for you than I can understand that might distract.

Yeah I am pretty early still.

Also Neoenigma stop with the Alan Wake stuff your just making me depressed knowing I will never see a sequel.

its a downloaded preset.

YMMV but strangely it works for me durring gameplay to make the woods and locations
actually feel dark at night .

(altough i can admit it is too dark for good screenshots and also in some locations. )

I only ever played vanilla SHoC, but I played CoP with I Work Alone and hot damn was it so much better imo. Can't wait for Misery 2.0 to release so I can redo CoP.

Only 2 screenshots per post

also why not resized to 1920 x 1080?

Not really a fan of the Horizontal Scroll induction this Thread generates on my Laptop, so i though a little smaller Thumbnails would be nice. Anyone who wants to have a closer look can still click through to Flicker and see the 1440p source.

Appologize for missing that rule.

EDIT: Well rules. :/

To be fair, there's a lot that can be done with pause + free camera (and other dev menu tricks).

I think all devs should put in basic pause + free camera functionality. The attention that good screenshots bring to games can not be understated.

Would bullshots even do anything for a game of that type? Always regretted not getting it on the 360, will definitely do so when I get home.

well i never bullshotted a game like this so i can't really say .

thats why im sad about the limit .

i suppose you could try to up the resolution before launching the game but ive never tried that method before.

I doubt downsampling would benefit that type of game. Seems all 2D sprites and background type stuff.

Still looking forward to playing it though.

Hokay so with Dust, you can downsample. I set my desktop resolution to 3840x2160 and the game was automatically set to that resolution.

Looked exactly the same to me as 1920x1080, except the HUD was way smaller.

Depending on the mode the screens get different black bars, and are cropped thusly. Most of them end up anamorphic cause thats how the replay bars are.
