If this is true, would this make the PS4/Xbox One a comparison to PS2/Dreamcast or Xbox/PS2?
Unless buttocks on a train says it, I won't believe anyone here. Thuway, proelite. Etc, are not trustworthy sources.
Proelite is not trustworthy but I believe Thuway. He nailed the GDDR5 RAM bandwidth way before anyone else.Unless buttocks on a train says it, I won't believe anyone here. Thuway, proelite. Etc, are not trustworthy sources.
I'm not really sure what your point is you seem to agree but disagree. Haha we're getting off topic though so it's whatever really. My point was just addressing those that found the situation hard to believe.
Okay I just caught your second part. Sure. I didn't realize that was what you were getting at.
I'm not acting like anything. You said "It's not like Ms screws things up" I'm just saying they do.100m copies of an os in 6 months is bad ? I'm sure Apple would love to sell that amount of macs in 6 months.
Anyway you act like sony hasn't had its fair share of mishaps which is basicly the majority of their products in the last decade.

Me? Me. Buy me a PSN card.
Exactly 1.20TF right?
But not the amount of RAM. He said it was still going to be 4 gigs not 8
To be fair, a lot of people were surprised at the 8gig announcement, even some first party devs. But not the amount of RAM. He said it was still going to be 4 gigs not 8
Even Sony first party devs didnt know about the 8gigs before the event.
Sony seems to have gotten lucky on the ram front.Even Sony first party devs didnt know about the 8gigs before the event.
That doesn't make sense. One is linked to the other, due to the density and availability of the chips that run at that speed. But not the amount of RAM. He said it was still going to be 4 gigs not 8

it seems odd to me that they would be demoing the system at a store in 5 days if the system had heating problems.

Zune, Surface, Windows Vista/8
Sony fans rejoicing in this are doing so at their own peril. A less powerful Xbox One potentially means less powerful PS4 games for developers who start on the lowest common denominator and port up.

Can someone translate this into something I can understand, IF the rumors were to be true..?
Thanks.

If its true the XBone is like two PS3 ducktaped together plus a lot of RAM and the power of the cloud. Can someone translate this into something I can understand, IF the rumors were to be true..?

To be fair...that's your opinion. They've screwed up software a fair bit more than hardware.
Zune was great - in every way - hardware especially. The Zune HD was amazing.
The Surfaces are great tablets and good hardware (better quality product than all other Windows and Chromebook OEMs by far) - whether you like the OS or not.
8 is their most stable and fastest OS ever - even if you hate Metro. I'm not a huge Windows fan, but it is definitely not a f**k up.
Vista and RROD are really their only true failings as a company - in 30 years. Their hardware has always been super solid apart from that RROD blip.

Uhh why did i even try thatI Googled "FLOPS Dreamcast" to see what its performance was, but the search results are heart breaking.

Hah, thanks. I'm headin to bed so hopefully things won't explode by tomorrow morning.I'd like to thank OP for putting all of the posts in OP and updating it for people coming into the thread late.
(I actually want to make love to all thread makers who actually update their OPs).

Oh, I am, which is why I went so far as to throw myself to the wolves. I'm a good sport about these things. If what I was told is inaccurate, I'll accept the consequences. Simple as that.
I'm not skeptical about whether or not that site is right or not. I feel pretty strongly that they are wrong. I'm skeptical about some random site just, out of nowhere, conveniently reporting this right around the same time that it's being mentioned in a GAF thread. I mean, that doesn't make anybody else suspicious as to whether that site really heard something, or whether they're just parroting what they saw on GAF, as other sites have been known to do sometimes inaccurately?
I won't argue that they weren't good products, but MS either misjudged their target market or didn't advertise them properly. To be fair...that's your opinion. They've screwed up software a fair bit more than hardware.

Xbone is much weaker and more expensive than anticipated.
If true.
If its true the XBone is like two PS3 ducktaped together plus a lot of RAM and the power of the cloud.
The special embedded RAM MS needed to make the DDR3 ram set-up work is running too hot, need to lower it's speed to cool it down affecting overall performance of the GPU, which could theoretically put the PS4 GPU at 100% faster in comparison instead of 50%.
Well this should solve the problem

So, depending on how you look at it, the PS4's GPU had a 33% or 50% performance advantage over Xbone's. If this rumor is true, how would those numbers change?

Delay the system. The 360 will still probably top the charts with a price drop.
IMO not worth gimping your system for 8 years because you weren't ready.
Up-ports would still benefit from potentially higher resolution, additional post-processing effects, more/better AA, and a higher average framerate. If anything, starting with a dramatically emasculated Xbone as base platform and up-porting to PS4 will guarantee that this gen won't be locked at 30 fps like the last one, at least on the PS4.
