XIII-2 ends basically in a way that everyone is fucked up and dead - so there's nothing apparently linking anything we've seen of LR to that lol
I am not.

Are people excited for this? Genuinely curious.
I only played the first 3-4 hours of FF 13 where I actually liked the beginning part (thought the frozen water and waves are was real cool, then I gave up on the game after spending an hour running through a trash dump. Just wasn't feeling the combat and linearity.

I'm excited yeah.
I didn't care much for XIII but XIII-2 did a lot to remedy my issues with the original, and the ending was just too good. I think LR will be great.
They went for the generic "red and black = badass" design scheme, plus his hair looks ridiculous, even by FF standards.

At the moment, I don't think so. They've been pretty quiet about it until recently, so it was easy to forget about its existence. But most people are glad the saga is finally going to be over with. (I just want a happy ending already, darn it.... with Fang and Vanille around)

Adding black to an existing design - a trenchcoat nonetheless - is not the same as designing black clothing. It's not about being emo as much as it's being lazy and lame.
You want a good design? I think XIII Snow looks great.
Sure plenty of older FFs, especially X, had some silly designs, but that posted pic of Snow is certainly among the worst. Before anyone puts more examples, I think Quina at least fits for the character, but I guess since Snow acts like a tool they dress him like a tool so I take it back, he certainly fits in.
And how does the other guy look ridiculous, he is literally just light skinned jecht in a jacket and pants.

Maybe you just do not like black coats. I know its cool now adays for some of the some of the kids on the interwebs to hate on cool stuff because its cool. But I'm not seeing an issue.

Found the new look. I think it's awesome.
Snow's FF13-2 costume was something to get used to (since they don't actually play out an edgy or dark angle to his character, he's just Snow running around doing whatever it is Snow Villiers do.)

Yeah I'm with you on this. He can look bland or whatever. But to say he's horrid especially due to the hair seems a bit much for me.
Hell i say he looks better than he did in 13 and 13-2. A bit less of a "jerk" look going on.
Eh, Snow's XIII design was great. XIII-2's is just a cheap recolour with terribad hair. XIII-3's looks really good, as it's simple but effective. That's why I hate Lightning's XIII-3 design. Too cluttered and inspired by Animu.
As for Seymour, yeah, his hair is the epitome of stupid in the FF series, but it doesn't stop Snow's from looking any less shit.

I think the problem with that Snow design is that the style in XIII isn't wholly removed from reality (whereas for instance, Seymour isn't completely human) so when you have these realistic looking faces with stupidly flamboyant hair (on a guy that's pretty stocky and big) it just looks ridiculous.

Some villains are designed to be hated from the moment you see them.
Caius is a pretty good character imo. Not stereotypically villainy but he's one of the only ones who actually wins in the end!

Coats are cool. XIII Snow is cool. XIII-2 is not and looks so out of place it's funny.
That sword gave me shivers the moment I saw it. Really? That's your weapon? With fluffy boots? Are you serious?

Now that I think about it. Snow's XIII-2 hair looks like Troy Baker's (his voice actor) a bit when he slicks it back, but with way more hair to work with...
It's believable to me that a bit of a doofus like Snow would "change" his appearance by simply switching out his shirt and a coat in addition to using some hair wax, lol.

I disagree, because final fantasy has been doing this for a while as well as other rpg's? You can exaggerate features on person, this is not a concept new to video gemes.
