Actually, re-reading the first paragraph - didn't another study say that women have more difficulty with monogamy a while back?

This post is so myopic i hope you don't see the ban hammer coming.
The point for this is to dispel the pervasive myth that women are sexually passive and driven by strictly emotional needs. It doesn't mean that every woman is a sex maniac, but what is more important is allowing them to craft their own sexual identity, not be pushed into a certain box based on how we think they should act.
So you wish for me to be banned for saying that these articles that are always being published contradicting each other are a joke? I don't understand why you even had to write your first sentence. Within both genders and sexes every single being is different and can't be put into categories. This whole " revelation " that people think they are discovering about women is because they have been suppressed in everything known to man and especially when it comes to sexuality.
Obviously Batman can't handle it.
Such a man.
I wish mine was high. Ah well.
"Fuck science, anecdotes tell me different."
I don't understand what that means.
Explain the following:
1. Female prostitutes outnumbering male prostitutes 1,000,000 to 1.
2. Bar population being 6 to 1 male to female.
3. Men outnumbering women 3 to 1 on online dating sites.

In general I agree, but the contents of this book aren't going to be as meaningful as the reaction to it. Take everything with a grain of salt until all the academics have finished arguing about it. Without specifically commenting on this book, it's very common for "shocking" and "groundbreaking" books to cherry pick science that supports their position and ignore or minimize the importance of contradictory findings. Especially when politics and science collide.
Some women. Like some men. Just evopsych mumbo-jumbo.
Here is that thread that some people are referring to incidentally, Devo posted it a couple weeks ago.

It seems to me that there are many people who keep hyping women's sexuality because they believe that if women do not have as strong a sex drive as men, that somehow makes women inferior. As if having a high sex drive matters in any way. Woman can be equal to men without actually being the same as men. Male characteristics are not necessarily desirable or necessary for equality to exist.

I see a lot of words but I don't see the testing methodology etc. Someone link me.

Did they use my wife as their sample data?
I masturbate 5-10 times in one day
I still don't understand. This is just a book someone wrote? Not a peer-reviewed study or something of that sort?

It's a book which makes reference to the science literature.
Kelly, can you handle this?
Michelle, can you handle this?
Beyoncé, can you handle this?
I don't think they can handle this!
I remember BYU did a study similar to that (about measuring blood flow and moisture as a way to measure arousal) and they found the same thing (women were turned on by more things and stronger than men) but they argued that in many cases the "women didn't know it". Where as a man always knows when things are going on down there. Seems tenuousIn general I agree, but the contents of this book aren't going to be as meaningful as the reaction to it. All of those are quite easily explained by the fact that women have sexually repressed for much of human history. If you sleep with a large number of women as a man, the cultural response varies between positive ("you dawg, you!"), to no worse than slightly negative. Meanwhile, slut-shaming is a phenomena that sadly still exists in the present day and actively persecutes women who are promiscuous. The fact that we see women being sexual initiators less often means very little when they are operating under a greater amount of constraints - a fair comparison can't be made until sexual attitudes between men and women reach some kind of parity.
EDIT: Generally I agree with ThoseDeafMutes, though. The article is not particularly well-written, so waiting for the source and seeing how it withstands criticism might do us somewhat better.

But meta-studies, (I think that's what they're called) are still usually peer-reviewed in literature right?
It is my giftWow, where do you find the drive, or the stamina? I usually go 1-2 times in one day, and that's good enough for me.
On-topic, hooray for generalizations!
And why isn't there a porn industry for women? I mean if they are too afraid of being "shamed" and yet have higher desires than men porn would be a no-brainer (at home, in private, etc.)
I feel like I read one of these articles every few years.

I take it back. I'm glad. Less relationship bullshit I have to deal with!
My wife has as strong of a, if not stronger, sex drive than I do. It's rad.
So why aren't they having sex with me?
Go back and look at threads where Gaf has discussed how many sexual partners a woman has to have before she is labeled 'dirty' and a 'slut'. Of course women aren't going to be as upfront about their sexuality as men are. When they DO express the fact that hey, sex is awesome and enjoyable, they are labeled as sluts and shamed.
Funny how that works really. Women are shamed for having too many sexual partners, while men are shamed for having too few. I think it's one of those things where the grass seems greener on the other side!
Everyone should just stop shaming each other.
I wish we had more links to the actual studies in these sorts of threads. A lot of psychology studies are performed almost exclusively on college students due to availability (You can force college students to participate for credit. I had to volunteer for 5 different studies as part of my course requirement in first year psych), and recent researchers have been noting that college students are about as far from representative of the adult population as you can get in a lot of ways.
You should check out the amazing amount of porn available for women via written erotica. Huge industry.
Bullshit
U don't ever see women hitting on men
I masturbate 5-10 times in one day
I need one of these imaginary women u speak of goddamn it
