Im excited but really just kinda sad. I was okay with Verses 13 being an action game before since we would get a real mainline FF but looks like the true final fantasy is now pretty much dead.

Wasn't FF XIII turn based? I'm really new to final Fantasy in general. I played 15 hours of FFX and said 'I'm done with this'.

Does the Versus part make it turn based?

Guess I've some crow to eat regarding the title change. Anyone know if wide open areas are still in? The stuff in the trailer looked like a lot of scripted events. Not exactly hyped for it yet. I need to see just a trailer of like, 5 minutes of someone just playing, and not selected ten second scenes. It's too hard for me to judge yet.

It looks like the have rebuilt the game from ground up, or almost from ground up. It looks waaaay better than the last trailer. And given the state of things in SE now, multi-platform is the only way to go. (but the fanboy inside me is crying)

I hope it's more of an RPG than it seems now. Doesn't seem like much of one anymore. Looks like Uncharted with Nomura. Not that a game like that would necessarily be bad, but I'd like a deep customization system at minimum.

I just hope it still stays the same how it was advertised a long ago. All we saw was Noctis running away from a set piece and teleporting from area to area.

It's guaranteed you would have a customization / involved level system. Judging the gameplay mechanics now is a bit useless without being able to see menu system - GUI (outside of some HP bars). I mean everything there may have just been cinematic battle moments, and it's more of a traditional battle system outside of those, who knows?

It reminds me of some of the scripted sequences from the newer KH games. Especially Dream Drop Distance and KH2. I bet there's still plenty of exploration and RPG elements on top of the crazy combat.

It should be noted that almost all of the gameplay in the trailer seems to take place during the same "Invasion" plot event, just in different locations.

It's not guaranteed at all. We can play "what if?" all day, but we'd both be operating on assumptions.

Called this at least a year ago. Finally proof that the XIII moniker was poison to the FF brand name. Got tired of people like Shinta and company defending it needlessly.

Statements like these make me want to pound my head in the desk. For one thing, SE would be jumping for joy if 15 sells as many units as 13 did and coming probably very early in the system's life, this may not be the case unfortunately. Second, the only real reasons for the name change is because a) they were either too far away from what was to be XV to be ready to be shown (and will now probably be XIV) or b) that Sony paid good money to have a new FF mainline title debut on their system.

Besides, at this point FF13 has its own identity with 3 games. No need to make a 4th that is going to be completely different from the established three. Good for lovers and haters alike.

Let me know when Uncharted looks even remotely as good as FFXV, and I'll be sure to start playing it.

All they even showed of XV so far was the movement, and the platforming, which is unlike anything I've seen from anyone else.
