Game looks a absolutely amazing. It really is a shame that something so potentially awesome is being wasted on the wiiu as an exclusive...they could find a much wider audience on the hd twins and their next gen brothers.

What the fuck? Monolith is a first party.

Have already watched the trailer a dozen times. Looks amazing. Cannot wait. Every time I watch I notice something new. Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
2014 looks great for Wii U.

Damn I wish this was out this year.

My single most anticipated game now. Great trailer, walking through the armor bay took me back to being a kid again playing Xenogears.

Not feeling the mech transforming into a car but other than that it's oldschool devs who know how to make RPGs

totally disagree, this is one of the coolest things. I can't wait to just drive around. Makes traveling fast, why not. Then again, I grew up on transformers So i love this shit.

Some more things I noticed while watching the trailer. I'm guessing the end of the trailer with the colony being attacked by monsters happens early on, because you see footage of that in gameplay a bit earlier and everyone (sans what appears to be a guest party member?) has basic HP and no MP/EP/Whatever they're calling it.

The trailer also appears to have multiple builds, seeing as how the UI keeps changing slightly from shot to shot. Also appears to have more than just the standard weather effects, juding from the icon.

Oh yeah, the Doll Fuel indicator shows up even when you're not piloting one at times, and there's a few very brief moments where they ARE piloting one, but it doesn't drain. Huh, bizzare...

There's barely three fucking minutes of footage shown of the game. But you're right, that's enough to come to the conclusion that there won't be any sort of substantial plot, especially when the game originates from Tetsuya Takahashi.

Sorry, but people making claims like this are either being obtuse on purpose or have no idea who Takahashi is or what kind of games he makes.

Yeah, it's a silly claim to make. Takahashi has never let down in the story department before, regardless of what your opinion is about his style shift with Xenoblade and Soma Bringer.

"Wii U has no games"

"Why must Wii U have these games I want!?"

I didn't even notice this! So fucking awesome. There's fuel too? Like in Xenogears?!?! This is making me more happy by the minute. (and helps take the edge off of No Metroid...fucking DK....smh)

Yes. It appears to limit the distance you can travel from the colony. The upside is that using the mech also appears to be significantly safer (and faster!) than walking on foot.

Assuming of course that this game isn't playing against the clock like Dead Rising and the original Pikmin, I'm guessing the size of the fuel will go up as the game progresses to allow you to explore more of the world.

Lol, i didn't realize that monolith was owned by Nintendo. Fwiw I was planning on buying the game on release and then picking up a wiiu after the next price drop that is likely coming fairly soon. This game is in my top 3 of e3 2013...but do please keep piling it on. Kind of amusing to watch.

I know it's probably been mentioned a bunch, but I noticed they didn't show the player character's face again in that trailer, and was that a female player character running around at one point? Customisable player characters perhaps? Still seems odd that the only person we've had a clear look at is Shulk/NotShulk.

Anyway, that trailer. So, so beautiful. Can't wait for this.

do we have any idea When in 2014 it comes out?

exactly what I was thinking when I read your post. It would be a great way to give you freedom without artificial boundaries/invisible walls, ect

Yeah, maybe we can see Uncharted hit Xbox One and Halo 5 on Vita as well.

My god I am excited for this game.
Everytime I think about that new trailer I have a total hype attack.

I am still unsure whether this game is related to Xenoblade. One thing I noticed is that many of the characters have similar movement animations to Xenoblade characters- and one even had Melia's hair, except it was black instead of silver. I still keep thinking back to the Shulk figure in the reveal trailer back in the January Direct.
I suppose in the end it doesn't really matter if it is Xenoblade 2 or not- It's just fun to speculate.

What's that? Some port begging?

yeah, that's pretty much what we figured in the original thread back than. But we were assuming that there would be a few islands which you could only reach by flying there, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. It sounded like the world would be a single landmass this time.

the trailer also shows a battle in space (at the very end, after the red X). I wonder if getting ported up there by a cut scene or if we actually get to pilot our mech out into space... (seamlessly). that would be quiet remarkable.

You know what I think is amusing?

i was getting pretty moist till i realized this was for wiiu

now i'm dry again

Nintendo team is making a Wii U game?

THE NERVE OF THEM

You did the exact same thing in the first thread, and there were people pointing out to you that it was a first party title. Just a smidgen of research would have saved you the embarrassment. Both times. :)

That doesn't appear to be a battle in space. I think it's just the area around the colony at night.

Remind me again why people give a crap about FF XV and KOH3? Square has shown nothing but incompetence for 8 years and FFXV was originally a PS3 vaporware. The less said about KOH the better.

THIS is how you make a goddamn RPG. HD towns and all.

Looks good. It makes me wish though that it was a direct sequel to Xenogears and not Xenoblade. Might have to replay Xenogears now....

I feel FFV and KH3 are different from the other things published by SE considering it's by Nomura. While his KH games may not be the best things in the world, they certainly do have a pretty big fanbase.

I dunno if it's a good idea reiterating, but there are collectibles in the games just like in Xenoblade.

You said it doesn't look like Xenoblade. Looking at it from a gameplay perspective, it's very much like Xenoblade. Are you telling me I was supposed to read that statement from a narrative standpoint? Because if so, you phrased that poorly.

I phrased it that way because I thought it was fairly obvious that that's what I meant, I guess not.

Xenoblade had a trailer dedicated entirely to exploration. The first X trailer had emphasis on combat. In the E3 trailer, they clearly intended to show off more of the locales, exploration, and different Dolls.

Do you honestly believe that an Rpg that has had 2 trailers devoted entirely to gameplay and not even touching story elements at all, isn't at least a little weird?

There was only one, short instance in the first trailer that we saw a chatbox, and we can't infer from just that that the rest of the footage had exclusively player-controlled characters. Besides, in this new trailer, there's a portion with a mech walking around with three other characters, and they weren't denoted by "player #" identifiers.

Did you know see the "Player 1, Player 2, player 3" above the HP gauges in the first trailer? I think that adds to the possibility that your companions are Human players.

There's barely three fucking minutes of footage shown of the game. But you're right, that's enough to come to the conclusion that there won't be any sort of substantial plot, especially when the game originates from Tetsuya Takahashi.

In the Nintendo Direct, Iwata said that they went to him to make the game, in the end Monolith soft is own by nintendo, so Nintendo has the final say, not him.

Sorry, but people making claims like this are either being obtuse on purpose or have no idea who Takahashi is or what kind of games he makes.

I feel as though you deny that there is atleast the possibility that this game may not be a traditional RPG is even more obtuse. Like I've said before I want to be wrong, and I hope it is an rpg, but what we've seen so far makes me think it might not be, and it seems like your optimism about this game is making you ignore the signs.

As much as I loved this trailer, is anyone else a little bummed they didn't highlight any combat? I was hoping to learn some more about how it works and see if they changed the UI any.
