I figured we'd get stuff @ 1080p (or less) and 30fps, but with better graphics than this gen. However, all these 1080p/60fps announcement are changing my expectations. I didn't think we'd reach this level of graphics and I certainly didn't think launch games (and the 2014 games) would have it.

I'm actually having a hard time gaming on my ps3 after I saw all those titles on E3.

60fps is just so important to the play for me. I fully welcome the next gen console.

If the only appeal of PC gaming to you is 1080p 60fps, then maybe not. There's a lot more that the platform offers, though, if you look a little deeper.

When you see third party games with 1080p/60fps/2xAA minimum, its a very good feeling. I'm glad PS3 and 360 were trying to set such a high bar. They will always be the best of the best.

I know you're probably joking, but I feel like the difference between 4k or 120hz and 60fps/1080p isn't as big as this gen's 720p/30fps and PC's 1080p/60fps.

Yep Smash Bros, is an example. I've heard rumors about Mario Kart 8 being 1080/60fps

I am also shocked. This combined with the emphasis on destruction, physics, animation, and less linear design has made me incredibly excited for next gen.

As far as I'm aware, all the WiiU 1st party games were also 1080p/60.

I expect 1080p/60fps during the first few years while it's still cross gen or early gen and it'll go lower resolution/fps as they try to push the consoles more and more as the gen progresses.
