She is. The soundtrack will be boss.

The music in the trailer is one of the most iconic and inspiring music I've ever heard. I honestly put it up there with Beethoven classics. I think that's why so many people were looking forward to this game. The story, characters and music just scream timeless classic. This may be the next FF7.

Shimomura is one of the big reasons KH strikes such a chord with me. Her original pieces playing at the right moments are nothing short of amazing.

I've only tried KH a bit on ps2 but I will definitely get the ps4 sequel. I like action adventure games with a good story. If SE can get awesome gameplay like DMC/ ninja gaiden etc. with a good FF story plus some next gen innovation, then we have a master piece for the fifteenth coming.

I hope it's not just warp and slash on the gameplay. I will say that the teleportation looks like something possible only with next gen hardware. It's pretty crazy that he can warp with his swords from long distances almost anywhere. If that concept works through out the whole game, it would be amazing. I loved that huge hydra as well. It reminds me of the epic moments from FFX. I hope the past 7 years didnt go to waste and they added a lot of quality and ambition in the game.

Even with as far as KH has come, going in with the mindset of a game like DMC/Ninja Gaiden is really the wrong mindset for these games, and even Versus/XV.

They are their own beasts, and while they do have action at the heart, they really are nothing like DMC/NG.

This isn't DMC or Ninja Gaiden. Going in and expecting that kind of depth/requirement of skill is going to set you up for disappointment. It's an action RPG. It's a bit buttonmashy, but (hopefully) not braindead so (if it's challenging enough, just going in and mashing buttons ain't gonna cut it, but neither will it have the depth of combos that something like DMC offers nor will it require über-reflexes like Ninja Gaiden on non-easy difficulty settings).

I hope they clean up the janky animations a bit, like when Noctis is hit by the monster and he sort of gets stuck in a knock back and a roll animation at the same time. Hopefully they fix the clipping, like after that dude gets shot and goes through the dead guys arm.

The physics look really nice. I like how the objects have weight to them and can be impacted.

I doubt you'll be able to summon leviathan the way it appeared in the fight..Probably as elemental attack or one of the "forms" available in the game.

the blue blood might be for ratings but not really sure it's just that...

the behemoth's blood is red

the giants are blue, same as soldiers.

I'm not sure if those armored guys are human human, maybe similar to the giants. See those pieces on the giant's arm and the blue mist coming out, possibly a controlling device? FF13 had a similar idea with militarized creatures.
Resident Evil calls them B.O.W. s? :p

personally I think they should stick with the equivalent of Teen rating. The series has always been that kind of game that works for everyone.Complexity of story telling requires no gore, sex or swearing that is already in excess in the industry.

Most of us played the series when we were young anyway.

Wait for the next trailer
GAF will lose their minds.

All we've seen in this trailer is a tiny glimpse of what the game offers - the next one will be a real blow out.

That would likely be TGS, right? So we might not get much until September unless they have more interviews or features in magazines.

I wonder what the chances of this getting some sort of special edition when it releases. If it came with the soundtrack I might import.

Yes, TGS per Nomura.

I think there is probably some story excuse why the blood is blue, even if the real purpose is for lower rating they just can't show it to the players like that. They might be robots, altered humans etc. I don't think they'd say they're humans and in this universe the blood is blue everywhere, too dumb for this day and age, maybe it worked in SNES/NES era not now :p

Noctis and co don't seem to bleed when taking hits.

I cannot wait for a demo of the game...with someone actually holding a controller and playing the game :v

Special Editions are a lock for Japan at least.

I would totally import a SE PS4 themed after Versus. Given Cloud got one, and Lightning got 2 PS3's, they better damn well give XV one.

I wonder if the "rural" areas are still in the game that could be seen in the 2011 trailers.
Also, I wonder if they will implement a world map in a traditional sense (FF 1-9), or if it'll be like FF x / FF 12 area based.

Thank god for that.
Going to import the inevitable FFXV and KH3 edition PS4s.

I'm totally in for XV.

I want to see if Cloud is featured in KH III before I get to excited. It just wasn't the same spending all the money for KH 3D despite my love for it, when my favorite character wasn't in the game.

Don't they plan on moving away with the FF cameos? I wonder if we even see any characters but Lightning in the game, or if they are exclusive Arena bosses.

And I swear by god, If they pull a FF13-2 arena DLC bullshit I'm doing something horrible to square... The arenas were always the best part about the KH games. I DARE THEM. I was so disappointed when I got to the arena in FF13-2 only to notice it has NO PURPOSE without DLC. Square just can't handle DLC, they should better leave their fingers from it.

They've never said they want to fully cut out Final Fantasy as far as I know.

Nomura continues to have cameos happen (Zack in BBS) and knows Cloud remains a very popular character. Given he's even had Showdown of Fate 1 and 2 makes me believe he isn't in any hurry to drop Cloud and Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts.

This and KH3 had me in tears during the trailers due to how excited I was.

SE, brought me back to a time where gaming was magic to me.

This and the Last of Us brought me back to console gaming when it's light was becoming shallow to me.

Edit: Also they better make Riku playable in KH3. Kairi too. I want a BBS formula but with the scale of a main title.

The question is how important they will be for the story tho. I can see them being little more than just extra bosses. I sure hope they stay. In fact, I'd hope we'd see even more of them.

Just the fantasy of a "all FF cast" in a game makes me excited (without being a mediocre fighting game).

Cloud has never been important to the story. Even in Kingdom Hearts 1, he was really only there as a side story searching for his light. He became even less involved in KH II, so I wouldn't ever really expect Cloud to be there in a real story line way.

Squall on the other hand has been pretty nicely focused on and actually had a bigger role in II, so we could see him continue to be a character Sora meets up with and talks to. At this point though, I don't expect ANY FF character will take on a role larger then Squall had in any future games.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Besides the video quality, it seems like the CG has changed a bit in terms of lightning and adding the guy in the background.

Also, who knows, the bottom screen might not be CG after all. :p

Yeah strangely enough is as if the trailer didn't contain a single in-engine cutscene... I wonder why. Unless some of them WERE in-engine, but I guess if that was the case S-E would hurry up underlining it considering is impressing.

The lighting in the second pic looks harsher to me. Also is it just the lighting/quality or does the guy's face look smoother/ more plasticy as well to any one else?

Also, didn't Nomura say the biggest difference between in engine and CG was the hair, or have I misattributed that quote? Are they using some of that Luminous beard tech?

The guy in the background is this guy actually...a key character.I watched it frame by frame yesterday its definitely him.
Good catch!

The summon thing, i wonder how they'll manage it.

In previous FF (i've played 7 to 10) they were easier to do, because they were more or less cutscenes and in separated environments (the battles taking place on a different plane than the explorable area).
If they were to implement something like the Leviathan in FFXV, what happens when i summon it in the subway? Or in a limited space in general?

Honestly I'm guessing the summons will work much closer to an Esper/Eidolon from XII/XIII or even the Kingdom Hearts Summon system then anything from VII-X.

Uh... they also changed his design as well... :<
Why do they worsen the look of almost all characters? As if stella's new bad look wasn't enough. :<

I take back everything negative about the game I ever said *most of it was just due to there being no real footage though and no I don't consider alpha gameplay footage to be a good sense of what it could be*

I'm really looking forward to this now :)

Can you give me a quick run down? As i haven't played those games.

For Final Fantasy XII you summoned and they came out for a time and acted on their own while replacing two of the 3 party members. They have their own skill set and had activation requirement for their limit/big attack.

FF XIII actually fully takes over in place of the party and time slowly ticks down while you build up points to use in their Ghestalt form.

Kingdom Hearts - thing change depending on each summon.

I have a feeling Stella's portrait in the new trailer won't look like her at all in game.

Also, here's the Idola guy:
