Man, this dumb ass kid I saw working at Subway last week is going to be going to prison for rape... of an elderly woman who he robbed almost 2 years ago.

The reason why he raped her? "she's the reason why I had to go to jail for 14 months"

*sigh*

Naw brother, she isn't the reason why you had to do time. YOU are the reason why you had to do time. And now you're going to have to do a lot more, and be labeled a sexual predator, and make this poor woman think that she'll never be safe in her home ever again.

Its bothering me because the kid (he just recently turned 18) had gotten out less than 2 weeks ago on furlough. Subway took a chance on him and hired him. Now he's another black man in the system who will NEVER be able to be successful. Never be a contributing member of society.

Where was his support system? Where was his friends and family? Who could have put a hand on his shoulder and said "don't do this, my dude." How do you help the kid take responsibility for his actions? To realize that his own decisions landed him in joovy?

I don't like seeing brothers and sisters going to prison. I don't like seeing folks making poor decisions that ruin their lives, and the lives of others around them. I wish I could do something.

So I've been trying to corral some kittens. And the other night there were foxes outside we shooed away. We had flashlights and shit so of course cops got called. One said Timedog matched some description of a perp who's been seen on other streets. I told them he'd only been on mine, which is true. My mom was in the backyard at some point yelling to the cops "they live here, they're not doing anything wrong." Despite that bit of bullshit the cops were pleasant, asked for our names, then fucked off when they realized we really weren't doing shit other than looking for cats. I'm glad they came though since I knew we looked sketchy as fuck out there behind houses with flashlights. Did their job, realized we weren't being evil, and fucked right off. That's how cops should roll.

Dude got arrest yesterday where I'm staying cops drawed on him used his lil girl as a shield. I was like the fuck. When back outside later that night and they were back same cops.

Like Slay I wouldnt be surprised about Bynes doing it.
And I am glad the cops are at least being semi respectful. I still cant get respect and I am a damn security guard. I mean I dont know whats worse being looked at as a joke or being looked at with disgust?

Another question which would you rather;
Happiness and instability(financially) or Unhappiness and Stability?

I'd say happiness and instability right now. If only because I haven't had much to be legitimately happy about this year besides graduation.

But long term, there's no way I could be unstable and still be happy. It isn't in me.
