its a bit of a sad state of affairs when a feature that was standard all last gen, is being used as a big positive of a current gen systems game

How is this being used as a big positive? If it were, they'd have announced it as something big and huge, not left the announcement of it to the back of the box
not talking about nintendo, about the fact this thread was even made over such a trivial standardised feature, says a lot about how far behind nintendo is
Pics like this make me wish pikmin were real. So this is what Pikmin on Nintendo's console after Wii U will.look like. Excellent.

It is just a thread on GAF with some new information about a game to be soon released. It is not a press info from Nintendo and Kotaku did not reported it (yet). Is thread bashing allowed now?
Saying that it's sad that such a standard feature is big news for a Nintendo game isn't thread bashing. In 10 years we will see the same when Nintendo finally brings online multiplayer to games like Pikmin.
What makes you assume it is a big news, again?
The creation of a thread with this thread title?
Every piece of news (big or small) about games is thread worthy according to the moderators of this forum, as far as I know.
Well i guess that's a start.Sad that this is news though
Nobody disputed this. On other platforms this just wouldn't be considered news. Just as you don't see a thread titled "Call of Duty going to use both analog sticks". That's the point others also made in this thread, nobody is attacking the person creating this thread.
Did you know you can re-sell your games on the "true" next-gen platforms? Mindblowing.Nobody disputed this. On other platforms this just wouldn't be considered news. Like this you mean?
Nobody else in this thread is acting like it is "big news". I don't really understand why you felt the need to come into the thread and derail it over an issue you yourself have made.

If it wasn't news, then why the thread title? And for a Nintendo title it is pretty good news as previous titles such as Wii Sports Resort didn't offer such a feature despite being destined for that.
nintendo...
ONLINE leaderboards??????
a brave new future
Like this you mean?
There flagship racing title is fully online with a robust community at 60 fps on a Handheld. These jokes are old and not really accurate anymore.
That's referencing a very specific issue with the PS3 though (namely that the triggers are utter garbage and there are far too many games that use them for aiming/shooting and don't let you redefine the controls).
The whole reason for this thread's creation is that in 2013, online leaderboard functionality is still a noteworthy feature for a Nintendo game. It might not be "big news" any more, and that's a testament to how far they've come, but the fact that it is still news and not a standard feature shows how far they still have to go.
Releasing 2 online games a generation isn't exactly something to stick on the merit wall.
Hyped!
I can't play it till after Ramadan...but after that I'm good to go!
I am not saying that that thread is not relevant. But it is a similar situation with this one, a manufacturer specific feature (or rather non-issue) being confirmed. In 2013 you should be able to redefine the controls in any game, but yet it doesn't happen. Each of these threads is relevant for the ones that want the game/the console and commenting on something you have no interest it is trolling.
Or to put this different: This thread is referencing a very specific issue with Pikmin 3 game, the fact that people kept on asking in the past threads about online leaderboards.
So you think saying that every game should allow you to redefine its controls in that Battlefield 4 thread is just trolling? Seems pretty relevant to me...
Who are these people? Seriously.
I know it's off topic, but are there rules in your religion regarding videogames, or is the timing just coincidence? I'm asking because most religions are rather old to have rules regarding videogames (And Ramadan is muslim, isn't it? So old ^^).
leaderboards suck unless they reset every week.

All those people complaining int he BF4 thread were really interested by the game. You're not interested by Pikmin 3, I guess?
I am saying that anyone who would go into that thread saying something like "the fact this thread was even made over such a trivial standardised feature, says a lot about how far behind PS4/BF4 is" or "I guess it takes sometime to reach parity with games from 1980's" would be trolling. See the nuance ?
- You can point your Wiimote at the Wii U GamePad screen. Feeling is weird, but if you're as used to IR as me...
- There's a rainbow onion, so you can produce different pikmin types at once
- You collect abilities such as increased whistle range or shield
- New nice transition-landscape sections
-have a role in the story, leave clues.Olimar, Louie
- Pikmin 3 is 3x Pikmin 1's length
