Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd was just announced for PlayStation 3 and Vita for a Spring 2014 release: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=617876

It is the sequel to the Vita and PS3 game that already released.

For those who are unaware of what that is, watch some of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkmdR1es3Es

I'll do the sales write-up when we get details beyond "it exists," but generally using the sales of the last game as a guide is probably the safest bet for now.

I'm wondering if, this time, they'll release both SKUs at the same day. In that case, the ratio between them would be quite an interesting thing to look at.

Yes, I suspect they are same day given they were announced in tandem.

Yeah was thinking the same thing, probably be a better split than most ps3/v games because of the first being vita first and also doing pretty well.

True, but somehow I never thought Wii U would have a worse 2013 than Vita 2012 either. I'm not going to assume anything anymore =p

Fair. :p

There's some PS3 and/or PS4 game in that list too, and I'm currently consulting duckroll for a translation.

Edit:

Okay yes it's a Namco Bandai 2D sidescrolling game tied to Short Peace written by Suda51 and directed Tokyo Jungle's director. duck will have a thread up soon once he sees if there's more info.

One clarification: PS3-4 shouldn't mean it's for both, just that the specific cathegory includes both PS3 and PS4 titles. Otherwise, Ao no Kiseki Evolution would be on PSP too, since it's listed under PSV-PSP. Or like SRT:OE, which is just for PSP, but listed under PSV-PSP too.

Basara 4 is also in there as being PS3/PS4. Did we know about it being on the PS4 before?

Sorry I tried to stealth edit, but was too slow. :lol

Looking at that again I think it's only PS3, but I'll just wait for duck to finish his thread before embarrassing myself further.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Expected, though i thought they would at least wait for the announcement till Hatsune Miku Project Mirai 2 is released. Well...

Meanwhile at Nintendo.

I'm not especially worried about the Wii U not finding at least a niche audience given Nintendo's first party.

At current rate of third party annoucements this will be very niche audience of people who can buy console to play a Nintendo game every few months.

Even if Nintendo has somewhat decent release schedule for end of 2013 those studios will need 2+ years to make another Wii U game.

Eh, Nintendo has 19 retail games announced that they're publishing for Japan right now, nine for this year starting from this Saturday. I'm not too worried about having stuff to play fairly consistently...for the next 18 months.

I wonder why Sega doesnt try to release Miku 2 on WiiU. Maybe because of the more difficult porting? (takes more time and cost more money). It also looks like Vita got at least on more 3rd party game that is a 100k+ seller ;) (i asked a while ago if the Vita would get more of 100k+ sellers from 3rd party, but to be fair, it was just a guess on both sides).

The question shouldn't be why not but why release at all.

I don't think the audience is there on Wii U.

u guys talk as if Nintendo's first parties are all the sudden irrelevant.

Well, we will see.

Nintendo's first party offerings will definitely sell- the question is whether those games are headed back to Game Cube irrelevance impact wise or whether Nintendo has managed to maintain some sense of first party revival after the Wii first party successes.

They were announced in tandem the last time too

But the announcement (PDf 1) clearly said that the PS3 version would release at a later date.

Yeah with Diva f they first built some good Vita technology and then upgraded everything for PS3 after the fact.

At this point they are pretty much good on both of those fronts.

This is why I feel Pikmin will be quite interesting, especially in terms of how games that aren't Nintendo's flagships are fairing.

It definitely will be, though given the extremely long absence between real releases, I feel like it will be somewhat difficult to gauge in terms of measuring IP decline.

Right, that's why I think it's not an interesting barometer for their flagship/well served titles, but for the other kinds of things they do (or did).

Yeah definitely. Right now I'm thinking 300K-350K. Just struggle to see much more given the size of the userbase.

i agree, but trying to compare these to third party titles that barely sell isn't a good comparison. (not saying you are) then factor in that Sony isn't exactly catering to Japan (specifically with the PS4) and software on the Vita is nothing to call home about but yet some people want to continue to make it out like it's great.

I'm not sure who you think is saying these things?? I haven't seen that in this thread.

300-350k would be a great result for Pikmin 3, all things considered.

Yeah that might be too optimistic..I see it maybe doing 100-120K first week, and given Nintendo legs I can see it getting there.

Well it looks like Vita seems to be finding its niche in Japan. Hopefully Wii U can do the same.

Its future in Japan is at least looking better than I would have expected six months ago, let alone a year ago, but I'd be hesitant to say that until/unless it reaches a baseline of 20K or so, or at least until there's more than one likely 200K+ seller announced (GE2 is the only one I'd consider such at the moment).

As for Wii U... as long as you mean a GC-sized or slightly smaller niche, perhaps. More than that will take third-party support, and I think Wii U getting even Vita levels of support would be even more of a miraculous turnaround than Vita getting PSP levels would be.

The serie was able to sell ~ 500k on GC, I don't think 300-350k for Pikmin 3 is optimist nor even good.

With Pikmin 3 what do people think the Wii U sales will be like. 20k for the week?

Pikmin 3 + new Nintendoland SKU (packed with a wiimote) + retail release of New Super Luigi U + White premium Wii U.[EDIT] Beaten

Yeah I don't know- that was also 9 years ago- kind of difficult to gauge how popular the series is now.

We will see.
