I wasn't that interested in this game. Until now...

Well, since source has Oculus support, it would make sense. Doesn't mean anything tho. there have been a ton of studios showing off their kit on their twitter feed as a shout out to oculus.

Would they have time to do that for the PC release? No clue how long it would take to make a game compatible with the Rift.

Them getting one in the office just shows that they've got some interest in the technology.

Doesn't have to mean anything. David Ellis from 343 industries also posted sinething like this and we know Halo didn't got that support.

BUT if it has indeed OR many people would be happy, not me though

We seem to get one of these threads whenever a dev gets their Rift... but this one at least seems plausible since Valve/Oculus have already done most of the work.

Or, you know, maybe they just ordered it because they are a developer and they want to play around with it?

This isn´t Kotaku, you wont get payed for clicks - I really don´t like there misleading and sensationalist thread titles...

I didn't say it was confirmed, I just asked a question. Did you miss the question mark?

Valve only began experimenting with OR support earlier in the year whereas Respawn started development on Titanfall in 2010 and has since rewritten just about every facet of the engine.

This is almost as dumb as when that halo dev was playing around with occulus and you guys were like "CONFIRMED SUPPORT".

Didn't Famousmortimer tease that we may hear some OR or just VR related console stuff at Gamescom? Man, Gamescom needs to be now. Too many megatons in the making.

but allot of it is probably very similar, you don't break what works when taking an engine and expanding on it. Even then, implementing is not the issue, you need to spend a lot of time to get the best results. you need to scale everything correctly, you need to spend allot of time on framelag, etc. you cant just add some code and ship it. you need to build a game FOR the rift, not just have the rift as a feature to get the best results.

Would be nice, but it (devkits popping up at various developers) doesn't really mean something more tangible. We have Oculus Rift dev kits at work too, it doesn't mean we are going to use it for something commercial. But, to argue my own point; Supporting the Rift as an option doesn't really take that much effort relatively speaking, so why not put it in.

Aim down sights on rift must be so fucking disorienting. Suddenly the view zooms in and snaps instantly to an ironsights that fill 70 percent of your vision.

I'm just making the point that Titanfall's OR support has nothing to do with Valve's own exploration into the territory. As for what Respawn has done to the engine:

For those expecting "normal" Source engine - don't. Those super smart coders (like Calen in this thread!) have re-written a massive amount of the codebase. The renderer is completely new (multi-threaded, DX11, 64bit, etc.), along with all the sound code, netcode, input code, etc. There's a lot of cores on the Xbox One, and the coders are actively working on utilizing them as much as possible.

Something holding them. I bet it is the publisher, as could be wait for permit, or downright refuse.

or maybe, they want to try and finish the underlying game for the xbone and pc before doing special stuff like oculus rift

Would be cool to have Oculus support for Titanfall but the Release of the Consumer Version is still far away and will be months after the Release of Titanfall. Maybe we will see a well made Oculus support for this Game till then.

Right now, i dont think anyone want to play this game online with the low resolution :D

I thought Titanfall looked way too fast paced to play on an Occulus Rift. Especially considering it's a multiplayer game, I'm not sure it's the best candidate for that hardware.
