What the heck is a "memory reading RPG"?

Lost in translation?
Well, Soul Sacrifice had you reliving the memories of dead sorcerers to experience boss battles as them.

Here you might relive the adventures of people who fought and/or died to various monsters.

reading rpg?
graphics downgrade?
online?

I'm not gonna judge yet because I refuse to believe Capcom is this incompetent. Deep Down is going to be amazing
i hope

First they hype you with; it's a horror/survival kinda thing, then it changes 180 degree and becomes a online game.

All my hopes are now on Outlast.

I find it funny when some people believe that the game will now look like that. Obviously taken from some super old and early footage.

I find it funny that anyone would ever approve that footage to be released. Actually it's more embarrassing than funny.

Maybe this is MH x some dungeon crawler and I will reserve my thoughts till TGS but I really wanted their to be a single player portion. No matter. As long as there is lots of content I would be alright with it.

I wonder if it's like a Dark Souls knock-off that has no offline mode? That'd be fine, it could even explain the "memory reading" aspect in that you have to be good at memorizing and remembering maps and enemy patterns or you'll keep dying.

Thanks, I was trying to think of what that could have meant. I enjoy SS so that sounds like a good approach.

Unfortunately, I don't buy games where I can't play through some kind of single-player mode.

Online-required / multiplayer game makes this a no buy for me.

It's a real shame...I was legitimately hyped by that target render. :-(

Hopefully the TGS reveal crushes some of my fears. But at this point I don't think ill be caring about this game now.

Still incredibly interested, but the vague description really leaves me wanting. Could be something like the Souls series and/or Dragon's Dogma, but with real people instead of pawns. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

I doubt it's exclusive for some reason. They have been asked several times if it's an exclusive. It will probably release for Xbox and PC too.

If its not exclusive they why hide it. I have a feeling it will be a timed exclusive. I mean cmon if its going to be a multi plat you mgiht want to tell your customers.

Capcom still loves their absolutely bullshit genre names I see. Hopefully it won't stick around like the survivor-horror crap.

Sounds like Assassin's Creed's concept more and more. Always felt Dragon's Dogma was themed after "videogames" in a symbolic sense. I guess it may be more literal about this time.

Sorry guys, but do not think that after this trailer Capcom has teased us? think I'm not the only one thinking that graphically is not nextgen but by the early years of Ps3.

I'd like to think what he thinks the gaf.

The only game that would have made me buy a PS4.
If there is a PC version I'm saving 400€, at least until KH3.
I really don't care about the graphics, I want interesting gameplay.

You guys are making me sad. I was all excited thinking about playing an awesome looking dungeon crawler, then an online flavored Grue ate me.

Online Enabled = / = Online only
right?

Correct, but:

Capcom is about to reveal more about deep down, a PlayStation 4 game first teased during Sony’s hardware reveal. deep down is being developed by Capcom Online Games and as expected is an online enabled RPG that supports a large number of players. The game’s genre is a “memory reading RPG” or “reading RPG” as see in katakana. The teaser site also mentions deep down requires an internet connection and is an online exclusive similar to Dragon’s Dogma Quest.

If this is a full fledged online game then here's another fuck you to Capcom :D

Capcoms on a roll. One-two punched my face twice in less than 10 minutes now!

if it will be some sort of MMORPG only online, I will kill myself. Can't handle this and Breath of fire 6 smartphone edition...

Yep. Capcom just keeps pissing me off more and more with every announcement.

So has this part from the first trailer been explained yet?

With the helicopter noise and all?

Okay, so the first officially announced online-required game is a PS4 exclusive.

If the world needed any more proof that there is one guy holding the puppet strings for both MS and Sony...
