Flowers of Evil is really overrated, as the plot is crap, because the characters don't hold up, they are really really out of what we could call believable people. It's gimmicky in a peculiar way.
Regardless of what you think of Aku no Hana, there's not nearly enough people talking about it to call it "overrated" by any stretch of the imagination.

So nice to be in my own bed again and get some regular sleep. I've been running off of fumes for the last three days or so. Anyway this was my big success from Otakon even though it ruined my sleep schedule for the weekend (I had to wake up between 4 and 6 the entire weekend).

So jealous.

It's like it's trying to TELL ME SOMETHING! So we're upping the Beastial, and lowering the NTR... until we get a glimpse of that one dude she likes with another girl. DESTROYED HER WORLD VIEW FOREVER! So she has no dreams and no stories. NOT IF MAKOTO HAS ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT.

I thought Jupiter was going to power up this episode but she didn't ;A; She at least contributed though.

There are a few major differences between the series 1 - 6 and Rebuild 1.0 beyond the extension of the Ramiel fight although discussing them would almost seem spoilery.

I don't think many people would argue that the Ramiel fight was more exciting in the series than the movie although to what end that matters is questionable.

Sure, but the makeup surrounding that encounter is almost entirely different in the series, with the conflict mostly consisting of what happens in/around it. It's understandable that it'd be changed, after all, it served more a thematic purpose in the series; it was the payoff for a lot of the character development which had preceded it. Rebuild it has much more agency about how that was presented, having been robbed of that original context, but at the cost of outright exposing a core component of the mythology, just for the sheer sake of eliciting drama.

So another trap to bring out the Pegasus to see where he really is, as well as to tempt the holder into wielding its powers to flee in order to capture it completely, but Chibiusa's 2pure4u. Also the teacher doesn't understand kids, but did that one asshole really had to pull the single card? Way to kill her. Anyway, due to the events, the Pegasus gives her a gift and wants.... to know more about her.... and... uh...

WOW, THE FORESHADOWED ELEMENT CAME OUT TODAY! NOT LONG AGO FROM LAST EPISODE! Nevermind the fucking undertones they had the gall to throw in Topless Chibiusa(nsfw) to boot! WOW! Whoever said this was the Precure of Sailor Moon is full of shit. I never even got topless Precure with weekly NTR to boot!

Nerima Daikon Brothers - Episode 1 (English Dub)
There is a lot of daikon(radish) in this show. For a summary about this episode I'd probably say it's daikon, daikon, daikon, and then daikon happened, and after that more daikon.

In all seriousness though this show is pretty funny. All the songs are really catchy and funny too.

♪Will we ever get the dough we need
From pockets that always bleed♪

Darn I got the theme song stuck in my head!

THEY TOUCHED TONGUES! YEEEES! Also There's like two points of focals in the second picture. The fact that Rei is the target, and the fact that that woman is flaunting her ass. awww yiss

Some impure things happened here, Rei saw Mamoru naked, and they used to date no less. Yuichiro even tried to boil Mamoru alive because of his jealously. Jesus christ. And then to go flirt with other women? GASP!

Shingeki no Kyojin is also very good, even with some warts. Original setting, good production values, mystery, action, thrilling scenes.

I can't in good conscious recommend Attack on Titan as a 'must watch' to anyone with limited free time. I mean, there's a good 7 episodes of fat you can trim off the show and even then the shows dizzying heights and frequently outweighed by it's numerous dips. It's a pretty standard shounen adaptation in that sense, albeit with a semi-original setting.

I only know of the one where Optimus prime has an amusement park camera setup in his anus where he also stores portraits of this lovers taken with that system.

No, that one sounds interesting, too, though. The Artemis one I read had Artemis and a young boy and both were hermaphrodite lovers. Like no joking.

The Utena movie suffers from needing to have seen the show. I mean, having seen the show first, the movie has some good stuff going on in it, particularly
the escape from Ohtori Academy and Utena and Touga's final scene together
, but the problem is that the movie's overall plot suffers because too much happens assuming the viewer has seen the show and is familiar with its events. It's why I keep joking it is a sequel, because if you saw the movie alone without the show, it would make absolutely no sense to you.

Visually speaking, though, its quite the pretty motion picture.

Wow, someone agrees with me! Though I think character development is the larger problem than plot. After all the hype the movie left me empty and feeling that it wasn't anywhere near as good as the TV series.

Character development/plot whichever, really. The point is that the movie just cannot deliver everything the show did and winds up sort of jumbled. It is more like Gundam F91 than Rebuild of Eva in that regard, I suppose.

That's because School Days is adapted from a bad H-Game.

Well that explains it, then. Every scene with Saionj felt like it was ripped right from one, and that scene at the end of the first episode where the camera pans behind the hero and shows exactly one other important male character and like ten more girls was comedy gold.

That's exactly what the show is, so you're right on track.

The thing is I already know it is a tragedy, and I feel like that cheapens it somewhat for me, since the big deal always seems to be getting people to see it and be freaked at whatever terrible end is in store. Like, I mean, it's a bit like knowing the end to Macbeth beforehand.

Absolutely. You can't really expect the same amount of character development and payoff in the limited time offered by the movie vs the series, although when you take that into consideration it does make you question why they attempted to follow the series so rigidly for Rebuild 1.0. I can only assume they wanted to ensure the movie was a hit and so didn't feel like taking any big creative risks in terms of changing the story.

I definitely agree here. Attack on Titan's burned away the good will I held for it. I'd sooner recommend any other show I watched last season.

R2-D2 was also involved in the one I'm talking about. I can PM it for your cringing and laughing amusement if you would like.

rip trigger

Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 theater was scheduled to host a Little Witch Academia event including a screening of the short, a making-of feature, and a talk show with director Yoh Yoshinari, scriptwriter Masahiko Otsuka, and producer Naoko Tsutsumi this month, but the event did not sell enough tickets to make it possible. In order to kick off the event, Studio Trigger needed to sell at least 200 of the 400 possible tickets, but sales ended on August 12 with only 94 tickets sold. The event would have occurred on August 22.

Fresh Pretty Cure!: 06

Everything disappears because the monster of the week is a chalkboard and you can erase stuff off a chalkboard. Yes.

Next episode looks like we might be moving forward in the plot. I shall see.... tomorrow!

All these feels. I can't. Which is surprising given how short an amount of time they had to
flesh Sachi and Kirito's relationship out enough to give her death some impact, but they did. They actually did.
Testament to the pacing, or writing, perhaps.

I'm beginning to see that I may have underestimated this ish greatly.

I approve of this. AnimeGAF needs more people who don't hate SAO. I just hope this attitude continues through the later parts of the series that many people seem to particularly hate.

It feels like something that doesn't know if its trying to be a young girls show or trying to appeal to otaku.

I know nothing of Kamisama Dolls, but this sounds like a remarkably accurate description of the similarly-titled Fantasista Doll.

I still love it though.

dat fisheye nudity

Speaking of which, Fisheye operates for the first time, attacking a rather homely looking fellow that manages to get Minako, Rei, and Makoto's pants wet. He saw dreams of fairies that inspired him to make a book that Chibiusa liked, and thus tagged with him and taught him what a fairy woman is like.... and then Fisheye had her fun with him until the incident with the flower.

The Inner Senshi sans the main two go look for him for impure reasons, yet despite being late, Chibiusa and Usagi found him first, and basically saved him, ther other senshi were of no value, even TUXEDO RAMASAMA had more value in this episode.

I don't hate SAO in general, but those last 3 or 4 episodes... I just pretend they don't exist.

Oh, did you go to the Kanno signing on Friday? I think I saw you walking around carrying a huge-ass folder/board thingy, and I was wondering what the heck was in there. That's nice!

Yep I was at the signing on Friday and thanks, it was an utter pain in the ass. I had to carry it around in a trashbag because the actual nice carrying case I had ordered from Amazon arrived on Thursday afternoon instead of the Wednesday it was supposed to.

The piece itself is smaller however I kept in in the original packing size, I had it shipped from my framers in NC, as to prevent damage to the sides when I was walking around.

Now imagine me having to fight through that horde on Friday at the Watanabe signing with that big cardboard thing in order to be one of the first 40 people.

Doesn't surprise me. Damn at those comments in the article. Western fans have such a negative opinion of the Japanese locals.

For good reason.

I wonder if Kill La Kill might bomb now or at least struggle.

I'm fine with episodes 1-14 and episode 15. It's what lies between that irks me.

Something about this listing is wrong.

I meant episode 25. I'll go and fix that.

The Light of El Cantare
If Kill la Kill and Space Dandy both bomb, I might have to take a year or two off of anime. Just forget that it exists for a while.

Quite possibly the most tactless thing Tuxedo Mask has ever said.

We have a widow engineer that Ami thought was cheating with Mamoru, so she caused a scare where Mamoru was unfaithful (surprised Mamoru hasn't yelled about this yet). THE widow has a dream to rebuild a car with her husband who passed a way, so Ami the Super Girl decides to help out. In a way, it sort of gives me another impression that Ami is capable of doing anything, even sports. She'd probably be the most capable but she's not the main character. Yet another episode where a character could power up, and it did not happen :/

Oh speaking of, can anyone translate what Watanabe wrote to the right of his name on my lithograph? I'm assuming it's not the date or something like 'Thanks for coming to Otakon'.

I think it's just his name in kanji (渡辺 信一郎).

RIP Trigger indeed. Can Trigger's works really be that much more popular in the West? It'd be interesting to see what the geography of the kickstarter doners looked like.
