NeoGeo PAD USB [PS3/PC]

I don't own that yet, but from some googling it looks like you can remap pads in Skullgirls, so it might be easy as long as it supports direct input pads. If it only supports Xinput, you can always use x360ce to map the Neo-Geo pad anyways.

Skullgirls should recognize these. It recognizes my PS3 arcade stick, as well as other directinput controllers.

Doesn't have the SNK street cred though. Plus the reviews on that Amazon page don't really inspire any confidence.
Eh, I don't beat the everliving shit out of my controllers so I've never had any controller fail in my life.

After tossing and turning thinking about whether I should I get it, I finally bit the bullet and gave Playasia my hard-earned monies. Looking forward to trying out Ketsui PS3 with this.

You're lucky. I treat my controllers real good and sometimes they still fail.

Yeah, me too. Especially Fightpads. They just wear out over time, things get less responsive, or directions start to drift. After hundreds and hundreds of hours, something's gotta give.

Looks like you can still order from PA, it'll probably just take longer for you to get them since they're waiting for more stocks to arrive.

I think if they sold out they wouldn't even allow you to buy them at all.

Damn, yeah, my order says "wait" now. The shipping date is set for September 2nd, though, so that's not too awful.

Play-asia is now listing the pad as shipping in 1-2 weeks. And the manufacturer site is listing it as available but with shipping delay due to popularity, so it looks like they will still be available, thank goodness.

The PDP pads are not that bad. I have both a 360 one and PS3. They work well. The problem is that some crap out on you, the dpad to be specific. The same is said about the neo-geo though, dpad as well. At the price point though its not a bad investment. I am getting some neo-geo ones soon so i can do a comparison at that point.

I opened one up today to check it out and to see how it works.

Same tech as the old Neo Geo CD pads but I'm thinking this one might be a little more durable as the actual micro switches seem sturdier.

I know a guy who buys the PDP pads pretty often to play on. I think he goes through at least two a year. I've seen one straight up stop working, permanently, DURING a match before.

I have been lucky so far, but yeah they are problematic. They feel good and are cheap now so it does not hurt the wallet as much. Yeah, its a shame PDP has bad quality control.

What are the chances of this working on PS4, I know there could be issues with wheels/fightsticks

I think that requires DS3 support, which I don't really see happening since that'd make things kind of confusing for the average Joe. But that's just a guess at any rate, we can always hope.

I ordered on August 17th and it just shipped on the 10th. Anyone have experience with Playasia's dirt-cheap shipping option? It cost 50 cents, so I'm not expecting them to rush at all. Just want an idea of when to keep an eye out for it.

One week. If you are unlucky, two to three weeks.

Dang, you can change the name, but you've still got that Pelican QC

Pelican makes the waterproof heavy duty plastic cases for cameras and firearms etc, I have them mounted on my motorcycle and they stood up to a crash and slide still intact with just cosmetic damage, guess their pads arent nearly as tough.

Pelican out of LA (cases for film, sound, military, etc) is not the same company.

Stupid question - but this controller does work on a US PS3 right? I thought I remember reading some things about some 3rd party controllers not working on PS3s anymore.

I need to get one of these pads for Ketsui, Metal Slug, and some PS1 games. I actually cannot stand the stock Dualshock Dpad.

This one's officially licensed. It works.

Anyone have any experience with replacing the microswitches in one of these pads? Had mine crap out on me last year (roommate was using it for our 2P Rayman Origins runs), and was extremely bummed. If not, I'll have to try finding a new one to replace it. :(

So I received the Neo Geo pad

Comparison to the PDP is as such:

Dpad- the NG is the clear winner. Clicky Butter. Very smooth movement whereas the PDP has more of a grindy feel to it

Facebuttons- The PDP are looser then the the NG but have a better feel IMO. They have a nice click to them. Played guacamelee and the NG felt a bit slower due to the firmer press. ( Like blue cherries compared to black/green)

Shoulder buttons- this is an either or. The NG is a bit stiffer but they feel good. Smaller footprint as well. The PDP requires a lighter touch and has a larger footprint.

All in all a fine pad. Worth $50+w/shipping ? For me yes, but I am a controller whore and will buy them for novelty sometimes.

I will be ordering another one ASAP
*I own the hori dragon quest pad for example.

Received the pad. It's absolutely fantastic, but I haven't been able to get this to work in RetroArch. Is there anyway to configure this or should I wait until someone at the RetroArch decides to bother?
