The Wonderful 101 |OT| Diplomacy has failed

Yeah, that was really petty. "durr I'm not calling anyone else, but let me shame and link these posts weren't those idiots wrong"

That was the past, this is now. Get over it.

It´s on in germany but the shop says i need 49,99 € in my account to buy the game... do i really need to overcharge to get the promotion?

There seems to be a problem with the discount. Several posts on miiverse point out that most aren't getting the 30% off... and neither do i ....

Forgot all about the teleport, I'll have to try that

Also, Saur just started a System Breakdown video series. He's one of the main guys behind that amazing Bayonetta guide, and he's got a lot of impressive action game videos from God Hand to Viewtiful Joe to even No More Heroes, so he's VERY good at figuring games out and breaking down their mechanics.

edit: LOVE the action command cancelling bit in the second half. Do a Stinger with the fist, draw a sword, press B, A which not only confirms your weapon switch but also does the rising sword attack.

Got off work and was able to watch this fully

Time to hop on right stick bandwagon.

Still gonna use pad for big shapes tho because fuck yall. but I can't argue in the face of results like this.

I didn't even know wonder spin or whatever was a move.

I think he means if he needs to pay the original price to get the money back from the 30%off- pikmin promotion.

doesn't seem right, though

Exactly. My guess would be i need 49,99 in my account just to get to the next step in the purchasing process where it would discount it according to the promotion. Would be nonsense.

Sorry, not a native speaker and haven´t been in a english speaking country for years. ^^

I forsee a thread about prople complaining that Nintendo didn't honor the promotion from peoplr who bought the game at full price even though the promotion price should have showed up first.

Seriously, sucks that it desn't work yet. Be sure to wait till it does though to save yourself some hassle.

Dont think so, the discounted price should be showing up, like in all other eShop deals. Better call costumer support.

Yeah I'm a fucking moron. I don't know why I did that. I'd like to blame my tiredness and grumpiness but that doesn't excuse douchebaggery on my behalf. I guess I'm stupid. It started with look at P-100 trailers and I remembered the thread. I was dumber than all them combined because what I did was stupid and and what they said was perfectly fine. I had reservations and hate for the game 100x more than they did and I still am cautious about the game. Calling people out because of hindsight is fucking stupid. I'm sure combing through my post history makes me out like a fucking idiot and I guess I am!

But the main thing is, the game came a long way. It looks as awesome as ever, I can't wait to get it and finally I'm a stupid idiot.

My copy is estimated to be here on the 26th. I'm fine with that.

The downloading comments made me UNITE EXCITE but then I checked the eshop (UK) and it's not up yet : (

Oh well, cleared the fridge a little, looks like I need to get a decent HDD for my Wii U, anyone got any good suggestions?

I don't think you can use that spin attack in the demo. I imagine it's like uprising or the forward jab attack (which you can only use with the fist in the demo, whereas this video clearly demonstrates you can with the sword as well later, so yay).

Got it on disk and played a little. Still too long, have to work tomorrow, argh! Pretty cool so far. Got already more things to see than in the demo in the same area. According to the pause menu, there are a ton of collectables. Database files, figurines, extra missions (they're hard!), powers, etc. I wonder if you can buy all stuff from the shop during the same run or have to decide on trade-offs.

having to do a wii fit session before I can Wonderful it up in here but uh...anyone getting the discount yet? I checked just after midnight but it comes up full price for me

How long did your first play through take?

I'm about 2 hours in so far and loving this game

Clock says 14 hours 51 minutes. I don't know if it counts the cutscenes and the idle menu time though.

I won't post my trophy recap because I'm ashamed of myself

Also someone asked me yesterday if you could view the character portraits again, well yes it's an unlockable after you finish the story :D

Few thoughts now :

-Luka is the worst character of the year
-The final boss ends with what is surely the most awesome, hilarious, mind blowing button mashing/QTE scene in history of videogames
-Lots and lots of nerd rage to expect during the latter half of the game, Miiverse will probably be interesting to watch
-Operation 7 is a real stinker
-Kamiya is insane
-I missed so many collectibles and heroes and I have not the slightest clue where they could be
-I'm almost sure some missions are near impossible to get pure platinum (ie not getting hit)
-game is awesome

a few people on my twitter confirming no discount applied even if they "legit" brought Pikmin 3 off the eShop. So seems Nintendo hasn't activated the discount for anyone who actually owns Pikmin yet, should a new thread be made warning EU types to make sure they are not purchasing at £34.99? I have horrible memories of the Pikmin 3 EU promo mishap thread thats making me hold off, but feel like people should be made aware before they blindly go in buying....

Watch them give the difference in eshop credit in a few days

Having the same issue and a couple of my Twitter people too.

I've already mailed Customer Service here in Belgium and if they don't answer tomorrow, I'll try to let NoE know via the Belgian PR deparment. Hopefully most of us will be able to play it this weekend then :)

A new thread to warn people wouldn't be bad, because it's not the intention that you would get 30% of the reduction in credits afterwards.

What is the price for it on the eShop for those who did not buy Pikmin?

I bought Pikmin and the price for TW101 was £39.90 here for me.

You mean the hero licenses that show their 3D model, secret identity, occupation, country of origin, etc? SWEET!

What does this mean?

Also, how "inappropriate" was the humor? I.E. dick jokes, etc. Gimme the deets.

I think he means difficulty

I expected as much but man I don't want to hear anymore.

Might be time to leave this thread now that more people are getting it.

I want to feel the thrill of Big Bang Bonus once again

I mean difficulty, annoying enemies, annoying multiple enemies, annoying multiple enemies you can't hit like the others...well you get the idea :p

Regarding humor there are a few lines that should have never passed nintendo censors, notably spoken by a female enemy, but I guess they were subtle enough for them...
Other than that it's really a cartoony humor.

Please give me a paraphrased example, in spoiler tags. I want to see how blatant it was. I'm guessing double entendres kids would never pick up on, but I'd like examples.

Also, when you say you unlock the portraits at the end, you mean the card with the 3D model and such you see when you recruit a new Wonder, right?

Yes I mean just that :)

I don't remember excatly but
basically Vijounne telling Blue something along the lines of "surely a blade that big is to compensate for something" and referencing climax and suggesting how/where to hit her next time to maximize pleasure,
and other things lost in my memory. I'll replay it soon enough anyway, I'll be sure to keep you updated you seem interested

With the good but not stellar reviews and some of the criticism, I was afraid the game wouldn't be the next Kamiya masterpiece but after playing 4 hours straight, I can say that I'm not disappointed. I'm still not very good at it (Shame on me with plastic trophies lol) but the more I play, the more I buy upgrades, the more awesome the combat system is.
To all of you, the first upgrade to buy is the Jelly Morph, then just after that you have to save money in order to buy the quick drawing upgrade. Once you do, the combat gets even more fluid and drawing multiples morphs becomes very easy. I'm not using the touch screen at all now. The game is very funny and full of character. It's just happy to exist. Some of the finishing moves to kill bosses are very satisfying to watch and the best in recent memory. I don't have any problem drawing the shapes, every time it's my fault when a form is not recognized. The only thing bothering me (Since the demo) is sometimes you want to draw a big circle to get a big fist but the game makes the line rainbow-colored and nothing happens. There's also some weird behavior when you're supposed to draw a big straight line to fill a window or door, but all your characters don't go inside and again nothing happens. The boss fights are very hectic and I didn't really understand all their patterns and which power to use to counter which attack, the fights were a bit chaotic as a result but I can't wait to return and refight them in the coolest way possible. The game is also full of secrets to find. Hidden files, statues, medals, heroes and so on. The graphics are gorgeous and sometimes seriously impressive, notably in certain action scenes with all the characters on the screen. I noticed a bad framedrop during a boss fight but nothing alarming. Can't wait to return to it. The game is very exciting and energic. Early fans, don't skip it.

Of the three examples you gave, the first one is exactly what I'd expect and more suggestive than flat-out blatant. (And kind of a cliché, for that matter.) I don't think kids would figure it out. I'm guessing the other two jokes are similar -- suggestive, but not shouting obscenities or graphic descriptions.

Trust me, I'm not a prude with this stuff -- Bulletstorm is one of my all-time favorite games. But consistency of tone is part of a game's integrity, so I hope this stuff doesn't stand out like a sore thumb in TW101.

But yeah, if you want to PM me more detailed examples when you see them, that'd be cool. Thanks for providing context -- I've been curious about this ever since the Eurogamer review called it out.

Also, REALLY pumped that the character portraits are made available after you beat the game! Can you rotate and zoom in on the models, or at least view them for as long as you want?

Just got in from work. About to start my download. I'd love for Nintendo to have dynamic plaza themes. I'd love a Wonderful 101 theme!

Gotdamn the unit mix on 2:52 looks freaking sweet.
This gonna be fun ! Cant wait to master the controls.
