I know you guys are in shock, but have you actually stopped to think about this? They're lowering the entry price of the system by $40 on the same day Pokemon launches. This isn't for us. It's aimed at a younger audience. They (and their parents) don't care if the system is ugly.

This is the smartest thing Nintendo has done in a long time.

The DS is huge among children where I live, yet the 3DS's only presence that I know of is at my high school. This makes sense now that I think about it.

Or any of those games that have the clever "close the screen to continue" mechanic. I don't know if any 3DS games do, though.

I believe that will be replicated by the sleep mode switch.

I wonder if Nintendo tried to play on it. Having two screens at the same angle isn't good. Noone plays on DS/3DS with top screen pulled down to the max, everyone sets it to some angle.

And how will I hold this brick in my hands?
How will I fit it into pockets?

I know they said that it's for kids but don't they know that adults too wanted cheaper 3DS without 3D gimmick?

Kids shouldn't watch 3D due to eyes not being fully developed + is way cheaper than other models = parents more willingly buying it for their sons.

Nobody uses the 3D anyway. No hinge is a little weird but the hinge was the flimsiest part of the DS (not sure about the 3DS). Price could be a little lower but that'll come soon enough. Not stylish but I don't choose game systems based on style.

DS
- 3DS ( no one buys it - confusion because of orignal DS)
- WiiU (no one buys it - confusion because of original Wii)

- Now: 2DS (guess what will happen...can I play 3DS games on my 2DS? What about DS games?)
