DriveClub (Evolution Studios/PS4) announcement trailer. [PS3 WHEELS ARE SUPPORTED]

Here is a gif from today's new trailer to make the wait for the uncompressed vids a bit easier.

Thanks :)

Is it me or does the new trailer look to be slightly different style to the previous ones? Dare I say slightly less impressive with perhaps less film grain or dof/motion blur?

Certainly looks more like the gameplay footage.

I feel the opposite, I personally think this is one of the best they showed so far. if the final product looks like this I'll be amazed.

Heh, I remember it being said that it was up to the manufacturer, which is good, because I think Thomas would rather see his stuff work and be an option.

Same here. This will be a big breaker for me if I can't use my T500RS. I will just stick to iRacing on my PC then. I don't race enough to justify going spend a ton of money on another steering wheel

To be clear, yes I am defending GT's dedication to accuracy to their 'plain' tracks. They got that part right

I'm not saying the plain tracks are detrimental, I play GT5 every week. Going to make it my game of the generation.

But even tracks with lots of trees, nurgurgring for example, there is a large gap between the track and the nature, leading to a lot of viewing space for the driver. Whereas this DC track everything is on top of you, and could be viewed as a "mess of pixels" as one GAFer at Gamescom called it.

Yeah looks great in that smaller gif which is probably more representative to what we'd see at the correct resolution.

Certainly a lot of jaggies in the game but other than that I think it looks reaaaaally good.

This is my sentiment, also. The jaggies are literally the only thing about the visuals that looks bad. Everything else looks phenomenal. If they can up the anti-aliasing somehow, then this game will look spectacular.

Gameplay footage looks good, i'd love to see some replay footage. The one disappointment I had with the Motorstorm games was no replay mode.

After watching the gamersyde vid I take back what I said about jaggies, they're definitely noticeable.

Not sure I'd classify them in the terrible category though.

Haaaa the joy of watching high quality direct feed videos. Certainly a lot of jaggies in the game but other than that I think it looks reaaaaally good.

I concur on all points. Looks amazing, if they can clean up the jaggies (noticed it was a lot more pronounced in cockpit view which is where I always race) it will be a definite looker.

This definitely has me more excited though now that we have some HQ vids. I really hope that you can customize the UI or maybe that was just a certain race-style that had a lot of shit going on, but I want minimalism.

after watching the downloaded Gamersyde footage, I'd say that DC looks phenomenal, best environments I've ever seen, cars look detailed, gameplay seems fun and competitive.

Simply I was blown away.

Is AA one of the last things devs work on before releasing a game?

If you're reading Rushy can you share any info on how that process works?

Second video is up, there is already a lot of traffic so I'm going to wait a bit for the last 2. These two should keep you guys busy anyway :)

This footage is from Gamescom. We've since implemented a new anti-aliasing solution which helps significantly with picture quality and reducing the number of 'jaggies' present on screen.

We'll be releasing new direct feed videos before launch, and with each one you'll see further improvements as we continue to optimise the game.

Music to our ears :)

Looks amazing. There were times when the environment just looked real.

Yeah, the aliasing wasn't great, but I'm sure it'll get fixed before release.

very good to hear! in my opinion, during optimization dont hesitate to remove some plantation because there is already very much stuff in them surroundings.
also, its nice to see (& kind of guess) that in handling department, already dc is above things like nfs etc, which is very very good news, because no matter how something looks, the fundamental thing is how it plays.
hopefully as you continue to further optimize, this department (imo the most crucial in a racing game) will not be left behind and just focus on graphics optimizations, but will be further optimized too :)

Ah, Thank you for answering, I must say the new trailer is quite impressive was that actual gameplay footage also? I saw the wind kicked up dust on the road way should we expect more of that on other tracks?

I'm really pleased to hear that, as it was really rather distracting.

The rest of it looks great though.

Holy jaggies Batman!

I thought with next gen jaggies would be a thing of the past. Fuck. :-(

Sweet! Good to hear.

If you pay close attention you can actually see the environmental shadows "skipping" as the time progresses. That could have been a little smoother, but it's like that in most games, pCARS included.

Thanks Blimblim and Rushy. Game looks awesome even for the current state of development.

Preordered it two months ago, two more months to go :D

Impressive. Can't wait to see how the game develops over the next few releases.

Are you guys sticking with 30fps now or still aiming for 60fps?

Looking forward to it. As it is, those "jaggies" are really bothering me.

Jaggies are the one thing that has really ruined IQ for me on a lot of games over the years. Some games have been great though such as GOW3 but I thought KZ3 looked worse than KZ2. Parts of Heavy Rain were great and some not so much.

If there was one thing that the 360 had on a lot of multiplatform games over ps3, was they were less jaggy a lot of the times - but not always mind you!

I now sit @ 8ft+ away from a 40" screen so I coping.....just lol!

Btw, still a fair bit of pop-up - another slight on the experience but I'm sure that will get sorted :)
