And? A friend of mine is first party for Sony and I openly criticize his games to this day and the PS3 in the early years. Of course the drawback to that is I get less info but I really don't care, TBH.

Really? Most hardcore? Talk about an exaggeration. You don't see me going around attacking the playstation brand and trolling threads about playstation games. I would at least need to tick at least ONE of those checkboxes before you label me the MOST hardcore.
That's a bit much lol. All I'm guilty of is being really excited about the Xbox One, and I've already purchased both systems, and even bought Killzone, a series I've never been a fan of, but was convinced to give a shot thanks to shadowfall media. And, no, I don't praise whatever they do. There have been a number of things that have annoyed me, like when I was worried about the Xbox One's media streaming capabilities from a PC, or how stupid I thought forcing people to pay to use internet explorer or netflix are.
This doesn't mean I don't criticize Xbox games or the system, as I've done that plenty enough, but I get more attention for not doing so, which I suppose is fair. I also did genuinely believe that the Xbox One was getting a bit more crap than it deserved, and I really did like the previous policies, but clearly I'm in the minority on that, at least on here anyway

Fair enough, in many ways that's true. But it's subjective to what you really want out of a game. Many people would argue the opposite, that things have moved forward, at least in terms of story telling, tactility and the whole cinematic experience. In other senses it's actually straight stagnated, with mechanics regurgitated en masse, even old age one's (see Zelda, Mario etc).
You not a fan of the stealth gaemplay in games like Last of Us, MGS4, Arkham Assylum, Dishonored etc?

Well its true, from Major Nelson grabbing the Microphone and being rude to Angry Joe to Sony being arrogant as balls and dismissive with the launch of the PS3, they have both acted worse then 90% of the people on here.

I like the stealth in the Arkham games because it feels like how Batman should, and I liked how it was handled with the humans in TLoU but I wouldn't call those stealth games. Same with Dishonored and MGS4 (the other MGS' had a stronger case). They're all action games with some stealth-lite elements and would pale in comparison to something like Thief 2.

That was kind of my point, as the Sony debacle was in no way as nuts as this Microsoft business has been. It's a waste of time trying to discuss it, though, as he seems to just want to continue thinking that Microsoft PR has been 100% A-OK without any discourse.

I think anyone who used to play games like Thief and Splinter Cell would consider the mechanics in all of those games pretty mediocre. There is nowhere near the same amount of depth that previous games had. It's pretty obvious why, because they would never sell in the market that is catered to now.

I agree, but only in the sense that the crux of those games are not stealth orientated. But I still believe games like LoU and Batman AA did stealth gameplay better than many games have dared manage in the past, despite not being the forefront or core of either. Perhaps not to the degree of Thief 2 mind, but I think that might just be a matter of focus and gameplay mechanic priority.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Thief title?
