Studio Gonzo?

lol

God I'm still annoyed at their terrible designs in the anime they've made.

They also did Burst Angel, which I like. What's the general thing people have against Gonzo here?

I love Pokken!
Why people are hating on Gonzo?

The last anime i watched from them was that SSF4 OVA and i thought it was decent.

Gonzo has what I like to call "huge ass eyes" along with odd proportions. My last "full" watching with Gonzo was Gatekeepers 21. Oh god... and to think GK was bad.

Would be nice if more video game based anime would use the composers and voice actors from the game.

Bayonetta has no Japanese voice actors afaik (except for advertisements). No excuses re: composition though, but I dunno if they're using any or not

Nope, they had Gankutsuou in 2004 which was fantastic.

It was okay.

Ironically I'm a huge fan of their anime after that time period.

Maybe I just suck balls at critiquing anime and easily amused but I usually like Gonzo anime. Speed Grapher, Afro Samurai, Red Garden, Dragonaut, Strike Witches, etc. are some of my most favorite anime out.

Dragonaut bwahahaha

At least I know people who swear by Strike Witches as their favourite anime series. Don't ask.

Just read the first page with all the Gonzo reactions. Is there something wrong with the studio? I mean the trailer looks great at least but I'm not to sure why people are disappointed with it being done by Gonzo.

There're a lot of better studios in Japan and Gonzo rarely deliver.

It's Gonzo, so of course it's going to be cheap looking, but the staff who are working on the show are action veterans so it should at least have interesting action. The director made Afro Samurai and the X-Men anime, and he brought most of the designers and writers who worked with him on X-Men at Madhouse along with him for this movie.

What has Gonzo actually done since coming back from the brink of collapse, other than Fam, that I should be comparing this to?

The Gonzo of now isn't exactly the same as the Gonzo of ten year ago...

Visually it definitely reminds me of the likes of Trinity Blood and such.

No longer the big anime fan I used to be, but the trailer looked quite good to me.

Plus, I had quite a bit of fun in reading dem titles in La Giornale Pubblica. :D

Wait wait wait, I thought Gonzo was dead. What are they doing ruining a beloved IP with off-coloring, QUALITY- level designs, and a quarter frame per second animation.

Bayonetta's story was bad enough in the game, was there anyone asking for more? But at least it should create more buzz around Bayo2.

Trailer visually looks okay (with the compression...). Story in the game isn't special so this will probably follow that. It can't be worse than the DMC anime, can it...? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

This could be awesome. If it doesn't take itself seriously, it can be a hilarious/campy romp. Regardless, I'm still pleasantly surprised. (I dunno why, when reading title, I thought it was gonna be live action.)

I think it's a rather great story that was just told poorly. I really liked the time travel aspects of it, and all the scenes with little Cereza were cute. I think it was merely those awful film reel cinematics that got on everyone's nerves.

But hey, if Platinum ran out of time I'd rather them sacrifice cinematics for great gameplay.

It was money more than time I think. I mean Bayonetta had two entire stages and an boss composed of assests recycled from earlier stages. They stretched their dollars as far as they could go lol

Alot of Bayonetta's story is told through optional files as well. Which to me is preferable to extended cutscenes.

Although I rather like how 101 has handled character backstory, with extended monologues occurring during actual gameplay. Hopefully that carries over into Bayo 2

Its hard to have one singular favorite anime above all but that's up there. Then again, I really like seeing little girl's asses in anime while doing cute shit so I understand why that might not be everyone's cuppa tea.

Also, Dragonaut was awesome. Opening was great as well.
