Ok, here are my short first day Vita impressions:
Hardware
Great even fantastic hardware but I already knew that. The analogue sticks require some getting used to for aiming like in Gravity Rush or Uncharted but otherwise they're fine. Love how "squishy" the triggers are. The d-pad and the screen are obviously the winners here and I'm glad I got myself an OLED model. Don't really care for the rear touchpad.
Software
The OS is snappy and looks rather good but it's clearly designed with touch in mind even though you can use buttons and the d-pad. Not sure how I feel about the bubbles and I think they'll have to redesign it a bit for the Vita TV. Maybe something closer to the PS4 menu.
Games
I haven't played that many games yet but I've subscribed to PS+ and downloaded the free PAL ones. I already played Gravity Rush before and it's stunning. Solid mechanics, great presentation and music. On the other hand I really don't like how Uncharted looks or plays. The use of touch and the sub-native resolution are really hurting it. GR is sub-native as well from what I can tell but looks much better IMO. I have also played (and enjoyed) some of the demos like Soul Sacrifice (waiting for SS Delta so I can buy it) and WipEout 2048.
Store
The Store itself is fine. It's a bit of a shame that many games don't have any screenshots and it's lacking in some basic functions like wishlists but it's a great UI for navigation and best of all it's fast. I've mentioned it above that I'm a bit disappointed about the PSone selection on the PAL store and I'll have to create an US account eventually but the PSP selection is rather good. As I said, I subbed to PS+ and I'll see how much I get out of it in the coming months.
So far I don't regret my purchase
