So not worth it
After much internal debate, going back and forth, I have decided to give the show another shot.

I mean, how bad can it be? Really though, this is the final time, after Dexter's last season I am determined to not watch shows out of some weird sense of loyalty to them.

I'm not much of a TV guy. I find it difficult to sit down repeatedly to watch much more than a movie, much less the dozens of hours needed for a series.

Regardless, if anything should catch my attention it's Walking Dead. I love the games, I've enjoyed the first comic collection, and I've decided that my Halloween "thing" this year is to catch up to season 3 of the series and read the second collection of the comics.

I hope they keep it scary and tense, and don't make it too much like a soap opera to stretch the comics out into series- length.

I want to be able to sit and watch a show, don't let me down WD!

I'll still give it an honest effort! This is the kind of thing I'm afraid of though.


You guys have to believe me, I LOVE horror. Pretty much everything I watch is horror-ish in some way. I tried watching American Horror Story and I just couldn't get into it. It was so slow and overly dramatic to me. I should be a huge fan since I love ghost stuff, but I just couldn't do it.

I figure that if I can't dig WD that maybe I've got to concede that perhaps the television series format just isn't for me :-(

This show just isn't that good really, for every good ep, there's three filler eps. And even then, the good eps are full of plot holes and other shenanigans. It just never lived up to its promise or to the source material. Due to various reasons.

Now mind you, it's not awful or anything. It's just not that good either.

You know I really wish they would have part of a season in the wintertime when it's snowing. Would be interesting for a change of scenery. I know they've done fall before but I want a full on snowy environment.

I still don't know if I should sell my walking dead #1. Been waiting sort of based on how well the series is doing. Seems its on a downturn and I should sell it soon!!!

Why dont they put up pannels or boards or something on the fences so the zombies can't see the survivors within the prison walls?

I'm throwing in the towel. It's pretty clear this shows writers don't know how to craft a season arc. But my ultimate decision to give up, is the comics. I know the show doesn't follow the comics strictly. However, the comics have pretty much gone on too long and the plot's are repetitive and monotonous. So I realized, this is the kind of show that will go on for 8 + years (like Dexter/24/ and X-Files) - and will be driven into the ground.

And the show already has too many problems. Because I don't think the comics get that much better from here on out, and I already think this show is poorly handled, I'm just giving up.

So, O/U on how many generic characters get killed off on the show this season? I'm thinking Beth is for sure gone. No more singing. =(

Predictions: Carol, Herschel, Beth and either Glen or Maggie die. They'll probably introduce a lot of new characters like they always do too. Interested to see what this new showrunner does for this show. I'm starting to lose interest in it. Can't wait for the WD Season 2 game though!

I really hope they get the showers working in the prison this season. So certain ummmm characters can get...... clean you know..

“Isolation” - A group leaves the prison to search for supplies; the remaining members of the group deal with recent losses.

“Indifference” - The supply mission faces hurdles; the situation at the prison worsens.

Okay, I am retracting my earlier statement. I'll watch and see the general response to the first few episodes and after that decide if I'm going to bother watching. Those synopses seem like it's all filler.

To be fair, most episode synopses that you see in the info box on your TV say about the same thing. There's usually some curve ball that get's thrown in halfway through an episode that you never saw coming.

I honestly don't know if I have the motivation to suffer through this season if it's as bad as the last. Something has to give this season. If they don't find their feet and get some sort of consistent quality going, I think I'm bowing out at the end of this season.

Man I dunno. TWD has always kind of been silly. The whole Governor cop out thing was pretty lulzworthy looking back, but Andrea turning probably made the most sense. It ended on a sour note, but it still isn't Dexter levels of bad.

i mean few things in history are as bad as the final few seasons of Dexter - that shit was an atrocity, a human rights violation - but last season was pretty dismal. At least on some DEFCON 3 level failure type shit.
