From what I can tell, the game plays like Borderlands.
I haven't been following this much, did they mention anything about vehicles?
Halo 4 has squeezed the 360 hardware as far as it can go and runs at below 30 fps. Destiny is a MMO and launch window next gen game.
Yes, there will be vehicles.
What's Destiny gonna look like on PS360?
still launch on this gen platforms too

Do Destiny, Halo 3, and Halo 4 all run on the same engine?
Yes, there will be vehicles.
Vehicles are confirmed. I think the only footage we've seen is of a speeder bike type thing in the E3 demo. Not sure concept art = vehicles. Unless they announced vehicles in a press somewhere and I missed it.
I wish this was third-person, but I'll deal. I have no problem with first-person, I just like to see the character I'm playing as. Anyway, game looks great.

The art of this game is about 100X more appealing to me than any Mass Effect.

That screen look great!

I'm surprised people are impressed by the graphics in these screens. It doesn't really look like that big of a leap over Halo 4 on 360 imo.

From what Bungie has shown, Destiny's combat looks only marginally more sophisticated than Borderlands. So hugely disappointing, especially coming from the "thirty seconds of fun" in Halo. I really want them to show something that'll change my mind.I just hope the combat is good. One thing I can't stand about BL is the spongy, crummy aim down the sights combat. I know Bungie can do some gunplay when they want to but after Reach...I'm skeptical
(even Reach's combat is better than BL)
There's definitely a common code base, but Destiny's engine probably diverged some time after Halo 3 came out and Bungie struck their deal with Activision. 343 is iterating on what was used for Halo: Reach.
Okay, so the same code base is consistent between the games. I'm sure the engines have diverged in an extreme way in terms of net code.
This looks like an extreme bullshot to me. Could just be because it is downsampled.
Yea, Halo 4 looked just like that...

It's not like the Destiny screenshot shows a HUD or any aliasing, they are both bullshots so I don't see how it's an unfair comparison.

Not the same dev
Okay, thanks. Halo 4's IQ doesn't match that in any way, shape or form.
This is what it really looks like (pretty much):

True but the graphical jump should be there. It's not.
Doesn't matter if one is open world vs normal fps. This is next-gen ffs!
hahaha compressed to shit. Good one.
Uhh, no. The Halo 4 screenshot is terrible quality and definitely worse than the game.Compressed screenshots end up looking like actual gameplay on screen. Look at some Halo 3 "screenshots" and tell me it actually looks that good. They completely rid of the jaggies.
It's cross-gen. The next-gen versions are always going to be held back to some extent.

Yes. But lighting and textures shouldn't be held back by the last gen version.
