Here are some in depth shots from an interview I did with 4gamer Japan. You can see some of the old old designs internally of the TE2 (same as KI stick you see posted here)...

20130910087

You made your link an image link for some reason, here's a working link:

http://www.4gamer.net/games/097/G009735/20130910087/

The stick looks like a complete package I gotta say - looks super-easy to open with hinges, looks solid with some weight, has LEDs, can be strapped for carrying, I'm impressed Markman.

I know it's a minor thing and could be just for this prototype, but will the wiring for the buttons be color-coded like at least how the very first TE LE was (first ever TE, the one I own, no idea if the ones that came after were the same either).

And thus, Eyedol was conceived.

I'd forgotten about Eyedol! I used to bring him up randomly to surprise my friends and beat them to a pulp.

I really wish they'd put the Start/Select button equivalents on top. I found it annoying reaching over with my original TE.

I microwave steaks.
Buttons look purdy, I'm going to have to wait on more fighting games to come out though to invest in another stick.

Not really true as far as arcade sticks are concerned. We use them on our weekly geek nights, and they hold up just fine. Uncalled for in the context of this particular stick especially.

Good to know. I haven't used their products since I got burned with bad memory cards and controllers from the n64/PSX era. Surprised they haven't changed their name.

Mad Catz, now there's a name synonymous with shitty quality control.

Keep it up! Our goal is to change people's minds.

Yeah we fixed that already. That was just an old prototype. The lines are labeled and color coded :) !

There is a reason why start/back & start/select are where they are. They are out of the way so they aren't accidentally pressed in competitive settings. Doing so can get you disqualified. There is also extra security on top of that with the lock switch. When enabled it disables the functionality of the start/back & start/select buttons.

It's interesting that you say that about the placement of the buttons too, because when we first did it, a lot of people felt the same way. Now it seems we've set a standard and a lot of other companies keep the functionality hidden/away and feedback from the community has been almost standardized in their way of thinking that it is the way to go.

I only joined Mad Catz 5 or so years ago and I'm glad we didn't change the name and instead just took it head on and tried to make a change. We don't need to change our name, IMO that's a bitch move. We should just let our product speak for itself. Just my opinion of course ;) !

I'd rather just have the switch since I don't like the layout too much. xP

The one in the 4gamer link looks really nice. Will wait for a PS4 version though whenever that comes out.

All in all, I really love the features the TE2 has. Especially regarding the cable.

A valid opinion. If more people want your preferred style, then we would be inclined to listen.

I'm not a tourney player but I'd prefer the start/select on top. I find it kid of frustrating to use at home. I understand the reasoning, though.

However, I've bought probably as many as a lot of tourney players probably do, so I feel like it's worth voicing my opinion.

How about a rotating corner block that you can turn to allow the start/select buttons to be either on the top or back?

Look forward to seeing the m0dus artwork, as for the stick itself it looks great. I've been very impressed with the quality of MC's arcade sticks this gen.

I'd just wish someone made an arcade stick for people that play crossed (like Skill and myself) but i guess there aren't a huge demand for that.

Nyko's Free Fighter was supposed to be like that but got canned :(

Do you guys ever think you'll offer something crazy like a Hitbox layout or maybe a hybrid pad with sanwa buttons?

Just thinking....

I think most stock stick art is terrible, so I'm super happy that the TE2 lets your replace the art so easily. Love the look of the stick in general. Wish it were more boxy/square, but whatever.

Just need to see what console I'm getting, and I hope to see a PS4 one soon. :)

Not feeling the art/color scheme but that can be adjusted. I'm excited to get my hands on one of these for KI.

It is for good reason though, and I can't even remember if I had to get used to it, it came natural to me. Everyone does have their preferences though understandably.

Wow, excellent man, major props to you and the team responsible. Again, it really looks like a super-solid product, as if you guys didn't hold back with this whatsoever!

EDIT: Forgot to add in my original post that I'm glad that Microsoft has seemed to finally let go of making the XYAB buttons match the respective colors on the stick by standard like my original TE. No need to spend money for others getting newer sticks to switch them out.

Stupid question, I know the new consoles won't allow the old sticks but are these new sticks backwards compatible with ps3/360? I tried checking and all I see is complaints about forwards compatibility.

The Tritton headset line is awesome (my Kunai gets more use with my phone and tablet than my Beats, tbh. Mostly because they are more comfortable but they also sound really good.)

My TE stick is still going strong too.

Oh, Markman, you say this as if you aren't going to have one yourself.

I'm the biggest Hori fanboy around. But I'm just saying. We are going to be the only Xbox One stick at launch, that's why I asked him what I did. lol.

Markman, I threw this out earlier, just thinking out loud, but what are your thoughts on this:
How about a rotating corner block that you can turn to allow the start/select buttons to be either on the top or back?

What if a whole top bar built across the top could rotate so all of the top buttons and switches, could rotate from the top to the front side? Make sense? Might not be logistically possible with cabling inside, and might not be pretty, but just a thought.

Not even sure why they're bothering, KI looks awful for competitive play, and any other situation just use a controller

I still don't get the hype for this game. Was I under a rock when this game was big in the 64 days? Wasn't Tekken way bigger back then? Excuse me if I'm way off, I may have my time frames off in my old age.
