Goddamn. :lol
I feel like there is an outright disdain for GAF, in particular, right now from the press. We get assholes like me who can just say stuff with NDAs. We get OT's with more info about a game than any preview could ever hope to attempt. We get breaking news here first, and then on a site, and if their lucky the site will be linked in a new thread so we will click on their site.
Why do you care so much? What order? it could be anything. And I really hope you didn't cancel your Xbox One order, please be a joke.
You fucked up man ,, all Xbox division did fuck up :

You should know by now that Kevin Dent is nothing more than a troll and an unpleasant person. I got into an argument with him once on Twitter for going around trolling someone when he had done nothing noteworthy. He's a bigger douche than gies.
The more that GAF and Reddit and other gaming communities produce their own news, videos, reviews, impressions, etc... the more the gaming press loses its mind.

I don't just mean this as a gaf circle jerk. This is also true of reddit. I don't go to gamefaqs but I assume it's true there. I also assume it's true of 4chan. There's probably more places.
In the last several months it feels like the press, in US especially, have become contrarian to what sites like this think. The PS4 looks good... don't preorder yet! There may be some big surprise! You think that Mass Effect 3 is a piece of shit? GotY!
I'm probably simplifying it a bit but am I alone in feeling this tug of war going on? I feel like each weekend the big podcasts are arguing against whatever the big thing happens on sites like this or reddit or whatever feel. If they agree with us they are useless. If they argue they at least have an opposing viewpoint... but it often is nonsensical.
At the same time, #PS4NoDRM wouldn't have had the reach it did without the press atleast reporting about it. Also... I'm just some jerk on the internet talking about CoD being 720p on the Xbox One yet it's become a larger story because every podcast this weekend is talking about it. So while we may be a human centipede of gaming news... the press it part of the shit eating.
That could have been anything...Miley Cyrus CD or something. We'll need more evidence than that.

+2 for Eliot.That's T.S Elliot
And now CBOAT's back. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON.
(Also, am I wrong for thinking it's hypocritical of so many people in this thread to be okay for Battlefield PS4 to be sub-1080p, when that same thing was a death-knell for the ONE?)
I know people say it often, but really... Dat persecution complex. Thanks, Marcus for the insight. I can understand why you would be upset, However, I have learned from the short time that I have been on this site that if you say something bad about Sony you get backlash. I mean look at all the posts attacking you saying your upset about not getting a free console after you said you had both pre ordered. They are even making excuses for Sony as to why this is okay.

You're not alone in your thoughts because for one I share them...it's the same as newspapers are struggling to remain relevant in the internet age...we find out news through twitter faster than any newspaper can get us information....The more that GAF and Reddit and other gaming communities produce their own news, videos, reviews, impressions, etc... the more the gaming press loses its mind.

Though sites like these may be perpetually hyperbolic and prone to devolve into a wall of memes and .gifs -- they are brutally honest and regularly hostile to anything perceived to be corporate. The collective knowledge of forums (and how the information disseminates) only serves to exaggerate how profoundly untalented game "journalists" really are. They don't exist to inform the consumer, not really. They are there to make money, occasionally helping or informing the consumer is a rare byproduct. Think about how unbelievably misinformed one would be about one's decision next month if you had only read IGN versus if you had only read GAF. Who is bound is be the most informed consumer? It's easy to dismiss "GAF" as a collective, but, boy, come into a thread and state your bullshit and you'll be eviscerated for the next few hours. The more that GAF and Reddit and other gaming communities produce their own news, videos, reviews, impressions, etc... the more the gaming press loses its mind.

Sessler has complained alot this year. It ranges from 'not knowing enough about the PS4/XB1' to this. He just complains.
Though I understand his current predicament and why he is upset about it.
Oh man
-1 if I make a spring and all reference?Grimløck;87652837 said:+2 for Eliot.
Why do you care so much?
is this Ballmer's GAF account?
As I went back to get Gies's tweet to illustrate your point, I couldn't find it.
I'm a bit stupid with respect to twitter, can anyone find me the tweet where he asked for Albert's email or DM in order to send him the information everyone was talking about?
This is all I see with respect to that conversation right now:
https://twitter.com/albertpenello/status/394332390299926528
Does this mean that Gies deleted the tweets?
Because he can't undo what he did. He canceled the pre-order because he was pissed that CoD is 720p, I'm sure he will regret his decision later and there will nothing he can do, he didn't even pre-order CoD.

Looks like he deleted them to me.
Yeah, I'm looking and looking before I make any bold claims (I'm positively hopeless with Twitter, sometimes even pressing "All" doesn't seem to show all tweets), but it does seem like he deleted them.
Holy shit, this guy probably broke an NDA with Sony to give information to Microsoft. Unbelievable.
so much depends-1 if I make a spring and all reference?
Well if thats the case he's a goddamn idiot because Sony's legal department will bankrupt his ass and he will be blacklisted from the games industry for the rest of his life.Yeah, I'm looking and looking before I make any bold claims (I'm positively hopeless with Twitter, sometimes even pressing "All" doesn't seem to show all tweets), but it does seem like he deleted them.

Please tell me someone has a screen capture somewhere.
Hi all, took me a while to remember my password or I would have jumped in sooner.
Its not just about the games, its reviewing the actual system 2 days before the damn thing ships.
Something feels off right now to be honest & a lot of people are pissed about it.
If you have seen anything I have done over the last 8 months, you will know I have been very happy with the way Sony has been doing things but now its time for them to shit or get off the pot and they are being damn evasive about allowing serious access to the system before launch.
I have mine preordered (ditto XboxOne) & if that is the only way I will get to have said access to the PS4 then so be it.
When people delay access to something, game or hardware, it's never for a good reason in my experience.

Yeah its getting annoying. GAF isn't pro Sony or pro Xbox. It's pro whatever is better for gaming.
Almost the entirety of current gen the majority of gaffers have loved their 360s and there's been a lot of shtting on Sony and the ps3,the PSP and vita. When a company fucks up, GAF is there to laugh.
It just happens MS to the surprise of many have fucked and made mistakes that I'll be honest I would have never thought they could. Ms always seemed like the company that understood gaming. Look at every 3rd party exclusive they wrapped up this gen, with the exception of too human, they've all been stwllar.
Everyone, me included, where expecting a big Sony fuck up earlier on this year when the rumours started floating one of them was behind and facing problems.
GAF is GAF. We don't give a flying fuck about MS or Sony. We give a fuck about theyre console, their games, and their attitude to treating us as gamers. Sony seems to get it at the moment, MS does to but the executive bs going on behind the scenes is ruining all the good they've done for the industry with the one.
Competition is good. Competition gave us the Dreamcast, it gave us the ps2, the 360 and now the PS4.
I feel sad for having my coffee in bed just so I could read GAF lol. Oh well this shit better not burn
RESPECT !
Yes, you don't have to shell $500 for a 720p system.
