the upscaler must be very bad. In PC FXAA doesn´t blur so much textures.
We're talking about software upscaler, right? So this is DICE's fuckup?

Is there an explanation why the PS4 version looks so soft even though it's higher resolution? This is ridiculous.
When you have the console at home (this applies to the PS3 and 360 as well), you should look for your RGB settings. There are two options. One sets RGB to 'full', the other to 'limited'. Your television might also have a setting that must be adjusted based on how you have it set. On my Samsung LCD, I would have to set the HDMI Black Level to either 'low' or 'normal' to get the proper colors and avoid black crush or a washed out look. The combination should be either:
RGB Full + HDMI Black Level Normal
or
RGB Limited + HDMI Black Level Low
Full + Low = Black Crush.
Limited + Normal = Washed out.
Keep in mind, some televisions don't allow for a full RGB setting.
No, it looks washed out in that Video Gamer comparison shot too.
How dare you accuse my bro of confirmation bias. He's probably the most neutral/objective member we have on GAF at the moment.Confirmation bias.
There is a staggering difference here.

Actually, you're right, the 360 DID do that, didn't it? It's entirely possible that they've decided to do the same thing on XB1. As long as there is a way to correct it (which appears to be the case), I'll be OK, but it's really dishonest and stupid.Do you know that for a fact? Because on 360, the default output is closer to PS3's 'Full' output, and results in a darker, more saturated and contrasting image, isn't it?
The salt in this thread is fucking incredible. Holy shit, it's fantastic.
The Xbox One version is more pleasing to my eyes, and to a lot of other people's eyes. Feel free to cry about how wrong we are. Delicious tears.
Wait, how do those screens look better than anything in the DF article?

Seriously, the PS4 version seems to use 256MB of textures like PS3. Blur, blur everywhere.

I think you need to sort your glasses out lol
Look at those jaggies. They will be headache inducing.
Could you kindly highlight those details on the front of the weapon?
XBO has cooler camo patterns. There is a staggering difference here.
You prefer them smeared with chocolate?Pretty much. It's incredible. I personally don't like to have my games look like the screen was smeared with vaseline and I feel like I'm not alone.

STOP! For some reason Digitalfoundry is the only one showing a darker Xbone version
Pretty much. It's incredible. I personally don't like to have my games look like the screen was smeared with vaseline and I feel like I'm not alone.
you mean the randomly generated camo on the uniforms? or the artificially "sharper" Xbone textures due to the wonky gamma in the DF vids?
the sky as in the dark clouds? yes, though i think the PS4's clouds look better inverted like that]
What you're completely missing is that you too can crush the blacks on the PS4 and PC if you like. The salt in this thread is fucking incredible. Holy shit, it's fantastic.

Okay so looking at the DF footage I thought the image on XBone clearly looked better but now that these other comparisons are out its no contest. Xbone looks significantly worse. If DF truly is trying to skew perception here it might be one of the shadiest things I have ever seen.
Thats pretty huge difference man. Especially in motion. That looks like a HIGH to MED equivalent to me but that just what I am seeing.
Everything is better in the PS4 version except for a thing that ruins it all, that fucking screen filter that blurs every texture. Look at the sleeve in those pics. In the XB1 you can see the clothing pores and in the PS4 you blink your eyes as it seems you suddenly are shortsighted.
How people think that the lighting on the Xbox One version is better is beyond me:

Sure.
The ribbons on the front are much easier to distinguish on the PS4 pic. I can count seven on the PS4 and three, maybe four on the One. Xbox One is the one with all the jaggies on the truck and bright reflection from the ground. Lightning is quite different and it seems like the pictures were cropped so the comparison is a bit flawed.
Or oversharpening on the xb1, i cant believe we are going around and around on this people really should read dark10 post and the op.
random doesn't mean an infinite number of possibilities....DF clearly states that camo and even ground textures seem to be randomly generated...But it's not. PC and Xbox One versions both have the same textures.
considering EVERY other comparison does not have the oversaturated colors...yeah i think its a pretty good betDo you know that for a fact? Because on 360, the default output is closer to PS3's 'Full' output, and results in a darker, more saturated and contrasting image, isn't it?
to be fair when youve read the same comment eleventybillion times because people dont bother to read...its annoyingWhy have such an attitude? Not very helpful for the discussion.

Calm down, bruh, The TOS doesn't force people to read the thread before giving us their wonderful opinions. Are people serious when they say the Xbox One version looks better? It's lower res, has lower fps, the jaggies are insane and the contrast/shadows is all messed up, dark areas are so black they eat all the details you see in the PS4/PC version.
Seriously, the PS4 version seems to use 256MB of textures like PS3. Blur, blur everywhere.
Noise is not texture detail. You people are crazy. Then oversharpen the PS4 version, because it gives more texture detail x 1000.
You DO realize that those comparisons were designed to eliminate resolution as a metric, right? It's common knowledge that the PC can use any desired resolution but that's not the point of the comparison.Last gen they kept comparing the console screenshots to 720p screenshots on pc (lol)
And I believe before that (though I may be confusing the website here) they used some low end pc and didn't even crank up the settings.
Uh, this is proof of a more than 50% increase in performance. That's precisely what the difference in resolution represents.I thought that difference would be bigger. Lack of HBAO, resolution cuts and a worse quality of FXAA is not really that big of difference for 50% difference in CU.
It was quite logical that there wont be 50% performance difference between two platforms and we have first proof.
So let me get this right.
PS4 wins with
Less aliasing
900p
More consistent framerate
AO
But... A weird blurry look due to software upscaler?
I think you need to accept the fact that "better" is subjective, and that some people prefer the sharper look of the Xbox One version to the blurrier PS4 look.I think you need to sort your glasses out lol
